Seeing that everyone was stunned by Jiang Yan, Su Wan quickly shouted to them, "Don't stand there in a daze, come inside!"
Her shout snapped everyone out of their daze, and they rushed through the doorway.
Su Wan and the others entered through the doorway, picked up the resurrection pendant embedded in the recess, and ran through the doorway.
Jiang Yan slaughtered everyone present. Hearing Su Wan's shout, he let out a strange roar and chased after her. The two halves of the artificial hill were slowly closing together when he swung them left and right, causing them to collapse with a crash.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Su Wan ran into the passage. Seeing that the door was closed tightly and Jiang Yan had not rammed it, she breathed a sigh of relief, hung the Resurrection Pendant back on her chest, and ran down the passage.
At the end of the corridor was a spacious area, about half the size of a playground, with a ceiling that glowed like the examination rooms. Inside were rows of shelves, each about the height of an adult, with four tiers, filling the entire space.
She walked through the passage between the shelves and saw Chu Mingyao and several girls coming to pick her up: "Guard Lin is protecting Your Highness, we've come to get you."
Su Wan asked, "Where is this place?"
A girl said, "Replying to the Goddess, this is our first time here too. But I saw Uncle Jiang and that fake goddess carrying out a lot of potions."
Su Wan nodded to indicate that she understood.
This must be the doping storage warehouse; there isn't a single doping substance left.
They passed through the warehouse and continued down the corridor. A large, orange-red door was ajar, revealing empty armor racks inside. Su Wan curiously peeked inside and saw that it contained black armor worn by the demon army. There were probably four or five hundred sets in the room, most of them empty shelves.
There are several more red doors like this in the passage, which are probably used to store the black armor.
At the end of the passage, a large group of people were crowded around a closed door, shouting excitedly.
Lin Qingfeng waited outside the crowd with his cart. When he saw Su Wan arrive, he stepped forward and said, "There are guards at the gate ahead, they won't let us in."
Su Wan said, "I'll go take a look."
A girl addressed the crowded people, saying, "Make way, everyone. The goddess wants to speak with the guards of the forge."
When everyone saw Su Wan arrive, they made way for her. Su Wan walked to the door and saw a small window in the metal door through which a pair of eyes were visible.
"I am the goddess Su Wan, and we must enter this place." Su Wan raised the Resurrection Pendant. "Open the door."
The person inside glanced at Hui Shengpei and said, "The goddess may enter; everyone else must wait outside."
Su Wan said, "Don't you know? Patriarch Jiang took a secret medicine and has now turned into a monster, slaughtering indiscriminately outside..."
Everyone was stunned. One person said, "So that monster was the head of the family?"
Footsteps sounded from inside the door, as if they had left. After a moment, they sounded again, this time with heavy footsteps, and an old voice said, "Since the goddess has given the order, open the door."
The gate slowly rose, revealing an old man.
The old man had a bronze complexion, white hair and beard, a tall stature, and very strong muscles. He looked like a young man, which seemed particularly incongruous.
The old man cupped his hands to Su Wan and said, "I am Jiang Shan, in charge of the forging workshop. I have met you, Goddess."
Su Wan said, "Jiang Shan, please let everyone come inside to take shelter. I need to ask you about your family head."
Jiang Shan said, "Even if the goddess doesn't ask, I will take the initiative to tell her. There are spare rooms here for everyone to rest."
After settling everyone in, Su Wan asked Jiang Shan, "Jiang Shan, you made the black armor, right?"
Jiang Shan said, "The goddess is right. I will take you to see the forging room. The patriarch's laboratory is right next to the forging room."
The two walked through the passage, and Jiang Shan pressed a few buttons in front of a door, which slowly rose.
As the gate rose, the clanging of hammers and the sound of bellows filled the air, accompanied by waves of heat. Inside were anvils and furnaces used for forging armor. Muscular men stood before each piece of equipment, some hammering away at armor parts, others pumping the bellows. Everyone was focused on their work, and no one paid any attention to her and Jiang Shan.
Su Wan looked at their muscles, which were far beyond those of ordinary people and comparable to those of bodybuilders, and couldn't help but be a little surprised.
Although they are blacksmiths, it's a bit unreasonable that so many of them are strong and healthy.
A thought suddenly flashed through her mind, and she said to Jiang Shan, "You've used a secret drug."
Jiang Shan wasn't surprised at all that she would ask this question, and nodded: "Ordinary people need the help of secret medicine to forge black armor. However, Jiang Wenpei has taken away all the secret medicine, so we have long lost the ability to forge black armor."
"Then what are you all doing here?" Su Wan asked, looking at the people working around her.
Jiang Shan said, "The forging of the black armor was originally an order given to us by the patriarch. We will continue this work until he says to stop."
Su Wan said, "The patriarch has now turned into a monster."
“I know,” Jiang Shan said nonchalantly, leading her forward. “The patriarch had long predicted this day would come and had already prepared countermeasures.”
The two walked to the end of the forging room and went up the zigzagging iron staircase. Su Wan looked up and saw a row of transparent glass on the wall, which should be a room from which one could overlook the entire forging room.
Jiang Shan stood before a door and said to Su Wan, "This room is the patriarch's laboratory. He said that if he ever turned into a monster, the antidote would be inside. Only the goddess and the patriarch are allowed to enter this room. Goddess, please go in and examine it yourself. I must return to my work."
Su Wan used the Resurrection Pendant to open the door and went inside.
