Su Wan left the laboratory and stood on the outside platform, holding onto the railing and looking down.
The stairs were twisted like a pretzel by Jiang Yan, making it impossible to go down for the time being.
Thinking of how terrifying the monster was, Su Wan felt a lingering fear. She looked at Jiang Yan lying near the doorway.
The water in the entire forging room had been drained, and the rushing water had swept him and a pile of debris to the doorway, leaving only the heavy iron felt and forging furnace behind. The debris almost completely covered Jiang Yan's body, with only two motionless, jet-black hands dripping water visible.
Jiang Shan said to everyone, "Once I set up a platform for you, you can all come down."
Su Wan asked, "Jiang Shan, is he really dead?"
Jiang Shan pushed aside the clutter, walked to Jiang Yan's side, and first kicked Jiang Yan's hand. Seeing that Jiang Yan did not react, he bent down, picked up the clutter covering Jiang Yan's face, threw it away, and carefully examined Jiang Yan's face.
The girls, who had been excitedly shouting, fell silent upon seeing this scene. Chu Mingyao and Chu Yi stood on either side of Su Wan, watching nervously as well.
For a moment, the only sound in the forging room was the dripping of water on the floor.
Jiang Shan looked for a long time, then straightened up and said to Su Wan, "Goddess, she really isn't breathing."
Su Wan breathed a sigh of relief and said to Jiang Shan, "Take the defensive gun off and shoot him twice in the face."
She was terrified by the monster and felt that firing two more shots would be safer.
Jiang Shan agreed, kicked aside the clutter, bent down and reached for the defensive pistol hanging from Jiang Yan's waist.
Chu Yi said, "Wait a minute."
Chu Mingyao was taken aback and said to Chu Yi, "Seventh Brother, you..."
Chu Yi said to Su Wan, "Goddess, if Patriarch Jiang hadn't pushed me into the operating room, I wouldn't have been able to save my life. He's already dead, so please don't harm his body anymore. I want to give him a proper burial."
Su Wan also knew that it was Jiang Yan who pushed Chu Yi into the operating room; otherwise, Chu Yi would definitely have died. Chu Yi was a man of great loyalty and affection, and it was understandable that he didn't want Jiang Yan's body to be disturbed.
Just as he was about to answer, the girl next to him suddenly screamed in terror, and another girl pointed down and shouted, "God! God! God!"
Jiang Shan's massive body, clad in black armor, seemed to be lifted up by something, his feet leaving the ground as he gradually rose, revealing his dark body beneath.
Jiang Yan had somehow come back to life. He grabbed Jiang Shan's body with one hand and lifted him into the air, letting out a strange roar. With his other hand, he slammed upwards. With a clang, blood splattered from Jiang Shan's chest, revealing a blood-soaked black claw.
The incident happened so suddenly that the girls were paralyzed with fear on the spot, and Chu Mingyao was also so frightened that she covered her eyes.
"Gun..." Jiang Shan spat out a mouthful of blood, throwing his defensive gun towards the platform with his right hand. His body was pierced by Jiang Yan's claws, leaving him powerless. The defensive gun only flew a few feet before hitting the ground with a crisp thud, spinning and sliding to the center of the forging room.
Ignoring her fear, Su Wan shouted, "Brother Chu!"
Before she could even utter a sound, Chu Yi had already leaped over the railing, jumped off the platform, and charged towards the defensive guns. On the other side, Jiang Yan abandoned Jiang Shan and also roared as he charged towards the defensive guns.
Su Wan glanced at the platform's height above the ground—over four meters high. The ground was rock hard; jumping off would definitely be disastrous. But she had to go down. Chu Yi didn't know how to use a defensive gun, nor did he understand its optimal firing range.
In a moment of quick thinking, she used her mind to move the Simmons mattress from the apartment bed, threw it below the platform as a cushion, and then climbed over the railing and jumped down.
Despite the ground providing cushioning, the tremor still made her dizzy and lightheaded, and her heels felt like they had been electrocuted.
She got up and shouted, "Give me the gun."
Chu Yi and Jiang Yan rushed to the center of the forging room at the same time. Jiang Yan swung a claw, and Chu Yi put his body down, using the slippery ground to dodge the sweeping claw. At the same time, he slid under Jiang Yan, grabbed the defensive gun, and threw it at Su Wan.
"then."
Su Wan instinctively reached out her right hand to catch it, but missed. Her right hand had been stepped on by Jiang Yan, and her fingers weren't yet dexterous enough. The defensive gun bounced off her palm, then flipped out and struck the wall behind her before bouncing down.
She knew something was wrong, so she turned around and lunged forward, grabbing the defensive gun with her left hand and bracing the barrel with her right arm as she turned around.
Jiang Yan was already standing above Chu Yi, raising his claw to strike Chu Yi, who was lying on the ground. Chu Yi didn't have time to stand up and could only roll to the side to dodge. Jiang Yan's claw smashed the ground with a bang, making a big hole like an iron skewer piercing tofu.
Chu Mingyao was extremely anxious and called out, "Sister, hurry!"
Su Wan also saw that Chu Yi's life was hanging by a thread, but she had to be at the optimal shooting distance before she could fire, otherwise she was afraid the damage would be insufficient.
"Hold on!" she shouted as she rushed toward Jiang Yan.
Jiang Yan struck again, this time faster and with greater force. Chu Yi had only rolled halfway when Jiang Yan's hand almost pierced the ground, just past Chu Yi's neck.
Chu Yi was jolted by the impact, his blood surging. Knowing he could no longer dodge the next attack, he decided to go all out, grabbing Jiang Yan's forearm tightly and shouting, "Attack quickly!"
At this moment, Su Wan rushed forward, raised her right arm, pointed the gun barrel at Jiang Yan's back, and pressed the button.
This was the first time she had used a defensive gun.
The moment she pressed the button, she could feel the gun vibrate slightly, and a green light flew out from the muzzle, piercing Jiang Yan's back with a blinding flash.
Jiang Yan was about to raise his other hand to strike Chu Yi when he was hit in the back by the green light. His body suddenly stiffened, and he slowly turned around to look at Su Wan with a strange expression on his face, as if he was wondering what had hit him.
Su Wan was horrified, thinking the defensive gun was ineffective. She pressed the button a dozen times, and a green light flashed wildly, turning the entire forge green, like green ripples spreading in circles. Several green beams passed through Jiang Yan's body and struck the far wall of the forge.
