Chapter 28 Swallowed

Lu's mother eventually agreed to Lu Lin's request, but Lin Zhao was left at home.

That evening, Su Wan made lean meat porridge with some wild vegetables. After Lin Zhao finished eating, he decided to work for her from now on, so he finished all the chores at home before leaving.

After Lu Zhao left, she boiled some water on the stove.

She hadn't showered for several days due to her hurried journey, and her body odor was truly unpleasant.

When she brought the water into the house, Wei Jingzhuo was writing something on the table. After carefully pouring the water, she found a bed sheet in the apartment and set up a simple curtain.

Only after drawing the curtain did she feel at ease enough to take off her clothes.

A rustling sound came from inside the room, and Wei Jingzhuo, who was engrossed in writing a letter, suddenly froze, his pen smearing a blot of ink on the paper.

He didn't look up, but instead switched to another sheet of paper and continued writing.

After writing the letter to the Northwest Camp and sealing it with sealing wax, he summoned a carrier pigeon, tied the letter to its leg, and it flapped its wings and flew away in a flash.

When he turned around, he saw the woman's slender figure clearly reflected on the curtain separating them.

His eyes darkened, and the sound of water in the room became exceptionally clear.

The woman raised her hands, cupped them together, and splashed water over herself. The water slid down her cheeks, down her long and beautiful neck, then to her proud breasts, and finally dripped onto her private area.

Her slender waist was so thin it could be grasped in one hand, and he could hold it in his palm.

In his twenty-three years of life, Wei Jingzhuo had never experienced anything like this, but such behavior of coveting a woman's bathing was not the act of a gentleman.

He knew it was wrong, but he just couldn't take his eyes off it, and he became increasingly unrestrained and profound.

His usually cold and aloof handsome face now showed a touch of spring.

The candlelight flickered, constantly testing his sensitive nerves with the woman's movements.

He stared at his prey like a ferocious beast, as if he were about to tear off the thin veil, seize the woman who was disturbing his mind, and then... and then...

Swallow it!

A faint fragrance emanated from the room, stimulating his actions. He slowly moved towards the woman bathing.

After Su Wan finished taking a shower, she suddenly realized that she had forgotten to bring a bath towel.

She called out towards the outside of the curtain, "Ah Jin, can you do me a favor?"

Wei Jingzhuo suddenly stopped, realizing what he was doing. He turned around and went to the window, taking a deep breath.

A cool breeze blew by, and the heat on his body gradually subsided.

Seeing that he hadn't replied for a while, Su Wan assumed he had gone out, so she called out loudly again, "Is A-Jin there?"

His voice was hoarse: "Yes, what is it?"

"I forgot to bring my clothes. Could you get me some clothes? They're in the trunk on the far left of the room."

Su Wan was puzzled by his strange voice, wondering if he was sick. She asked with concern, "Ah Jin, have you caught a cold?"

He slowly walked over, took out her clothes, draped them over the curtain, then turned and stepped back, his voice calm: "No."

She was a little worried, but now that his voice had returned to its usual cold and aloof tone, she thought she had misheard him.

After getting dressed, she stepped out from behind the curtain.

Her long hair hung straight down her back, emitting a faint fragrance, making her look as pure and elegant as a lotus emerging from the water.

Seeing that her hair was wet, Wei Jingzhuo took a handkerchief and patted the chair next to him. "Come here, let me help you dry your hair."

Su Wan wanted to say no, but seeing the long hair behind her, she simply walked over.

Why not take advantage of a free hair dryer?

It was his first time drying a woman's hair, and his movements were very clumsy. He would occasionally pull on Su Wan's hair, which made Su Wan turn around and complain.

In his panic, he apologized to her countless times, but still did not listen to Su Wan's advice to stop drying her hair.

Gradually, he discovered the trick and gently wiped her face. Su Wan picked up a medical book and started reading. The candlelight fell on her beautiful face, making her look exceptionally gentle.

The moon hung like a silver hook on the treetops, and the light from the lights inside the house shone on the two people. A gentle breeze blew by, and the couple on the windowsill seemed to be embracing.

Wei Jingzhuo glanced at the window, then unconsciously moved a little closer to Su Wan, a faint smile appearing in his eyes.

After reading a few pages of the book, Su Wan saw that Wei Jingzhuo had already dried her hair, so she got up and said, "I'll go get you some water, you should go wash up too."

Wei Jingzhuo said gently, "Alright, thank you for your trouble, Madam."

She waved her hand, "We're helping each other now, no need to be so polite."

The smile on his lips froze instantly, and he pressed his thin lips together tightly.

He didn't like those words. It seemed like they were just friends, so why was he the only one affected while she acted like nothing was wrong?

He was inexplicably annoyed.

Su Wan didn't know why he suddenly fell silent, so she walked over and asked, "What's wrong? Is there anything I can help you with?"

Wei Jingzhuo walked behind the curtain, and just as his hand touched the clothes, he suddenly remembered what he had just seen. He wanted to go out and get a thicker cloth to put on the clothes, but he stopped in his tracks.

"No," he said calmly, closing his eyes and lying in the bathtub.

"The yellow bottle next to you is for shampoo, and the white one is for shower gel."

He opened his eyes and looked at the two bottles Su Wan had mentioned. They were bottles he had never seen before, and his previous guesses were gradually becoming reality in his mind.

Now, he can calmly accept any strange or unusual things she takes out.

However, if others were to find out about that ability, they would definitely not let Su Wan go.

“Wanwan,” he said in a low but serious voice, “from now on, you must not take things out in front of others at will.”

Su Wan was surprised that he would suddenly say this.

She knew that what she possessed couldn't be hidden at all, and if she lived alone, no one would discover her secret.

However, it's difficult to keep her secret from being discovered when you're with someone you're with every day.

Furthermore, she had already presented something that didn't exist in this world in front of everyone.

At the time, she fooled those people by saying that she was an immortal, but when she met someone as shrewd and perceptive as Wei Jingzhuo, she would never believe in any immortal.

However, since Wei Jingzhuo brought it up, she couldn't pretend she didn't know.

"Don't worry, I've only ever shown it to you. Others would have to wait for a chance to see it."

Wei Jingzhuo lowered his eyes, his arm resting on the edge of the bathtub, his fingers tapping lightly, his face deep in thought.

"From now on, you must be careful in your actions," he advised.

He was worried that the people who had given him the medicine last time might spread rumors.

The bathtub gradually cooled down, and he got up, put on his undergarments, and came out from behind the curtain.

The neckline of her thin undergarment was slightly open, her slender neck was still damp with moisture, her thick, dark hair was neatly draped over her shoulders, and her fair, jade-like skin was almost transparent, like a piece of fine jade. Su Wan stared at her, completely mesmerized.

She was truly the epitome of gentle elegance and refined nobility.
