Jiang Li was overjoyed to see that Wei Jingzhuo had agreed not to run away anymore. She touched the scar between her eyebrows with her finger and looked at the long sword in Wei Jingzhuo's hand.
The wound wasn't big, just a thin line, but it hurt quite a bit. Like cutting your finger with a kitchen knife.
Since swearing to become a tracker, he has experienced countless springs, summers, autumns, winters, rain, snow, wind, and frost. Even the emperors of Southern Chu have changed several times, and no mortal has ever been able to harm him. He has long forgotten what pain feels like.
The man's sword, slashing down at his head, had actually managed to injure him. This was truly unexpected.
However, this should be the limit of a mortal body. The Creator's divine medicine gave him a body cast in bronze and iron, and no mortal could possibly resist this power.
"Wei Jingzhuo, just stay where you are and don't run away, I'm coming."
He clenched his fists, stomped forward heavily, and stepped into the puddle in front of him. Water mixed with mud sprayed out of the puddle.
Wei Jingzhuo did not retreat, but turned sideways and raised his longsword. Large raindrops pattered on the blade of the sword and on his armor.
“Good,” Jiang Li said, “You really keep your word.”
He took another step, getting two feet closer to Wei Jingzhuo; any further and he would be within the longsword's attack range.
Wei Jingzhuo remained motionless, as if frozen in place. But Jiang Li noticed that Wei Jingzhuo's gaze was cold and sharp as he stared into Jiang Li's eyes, clearly preparing a full-force attack aimed at his eyes.
Behind Wei Jingzhuo, in front of the Jin army's formation, a girl's panicked voice rang out.
"Your Majesty, run!"
Jiang Li glanced at him and recognized him as General Meng Ruliu. Just as panicked as Meng Ruliu were the group of Jin army generals. Their warhorses pawed the ground restlessly in the heavy rain, and some even circled around anxiously.
He smiled at Wei Jingzhuo and said, "What, you're really not going to run away?"
Wei Jingzhuo did not answer; his feet remained firmly planted in the mud, showing no intention of lifting them.
“When faced with a ferocious beast that they cannot fight, weak animals will instinctively try to escape.” Jiang Li slowly moved the joints of his hands, making cracking sounds. “From this point of view, you are qualified to become emperor. Quickly think about what you should write on your tombstone, and I can tell your great general.”
Wei Jingzhuo said, "I cannot die before I save Awan."
Jiang Li laughed heartily, took another step forward, and entered the battle.
Seeing Wei Jingzhuo standing motionless while Jiang Li drew closer, Meng Ruliu became frantic and instinctively grabbed Chu Yi's wrist, shouting, "Chu Yi, hurry and help His Majesty!"
Chu Yi gasped and said, "General, let go! My wrist is going to break!"
Meng Ruliu then realized what was happening and released his grip, saying, "Your Majesty is not retreating, what should we do?"
Chu Yi raised his wrist and saw several red marks. He rubbed his wrist with a wry smile and said, "Jinzhi has decided to settle the score in the next round, so naturally he won't back down. This is their duel, and we can only watch."
At this moment, Jiang Li's body suddenly shot out, rushing towards Wei Jingzhuo.
Wei Jingzhuo roared and thrust his sword toward Jiang Li's right eye. Jiang Li seemed to be prepared and turned his head to the side to barely dodge the sword's light. He then reached out and grabbed Wei Jingzhuo's wrist with a thud.
Meng Ruliu screamed in terror, covering her head with her hands. Behind her, the Jin army generals also gasped in surprise.
"You lost." Jiang Li grabbed Wei Jingzhuo's wrist with one hand and his upper arm with the other, letting out a triumphant laugh.
What bothered him most was that Wei Jingzhuo avoided direct combat, always circling around him. As long as they fought at close range, he carefully protected his eyes, and Wei Jingzhuo's sword couldn't harm him at all.
As expected, when they actually clashed, Wei Jingzhuo's attack was aimed directly at his eyes. He was prepared and easily dodged it.
Now that Wei Jingzhuo's wrist was in his grasp, he could no longer break free. It was like a tiger pinning its prey under its paws, followed by one-sided torment.
“The Creator commanded me not to kill you immediately, but to torture you properly first. So I will break your arm first.”
With a forceful pull of his hands, a clear sound of bones breaking came from Wei Jingzhuo's arms, his forearm and upper arm twisted into a completely unnatural angle.
Jiang Li thought Wei Jingzhuo would scream, but when he looked into Wei Jingzhuo's eyes, he found that the deep pool in Wei Jingzhuo's eyes did not even ripple, but instead he looked down at his feet.
Does this man not feel pain?
Just as he was about to look down at what Wei Jingzhuo was doing, Wei Jingzhuo suddenly kicked upwards with his right foot, bringing with it a flash of cold light.
The movement was as fast as lightning. Before Jiang Li could react, the cold light had already struck his right armpit. After a slight pause, the cold light rose again and flew over his shoulder.
He suddenly couldn't feel his right arm anymore.
His right hand was still gripping Wei Jingzhuo's upper arm. As the arm separated from his body, it swung down like a pendulum. Halfway down, the five fingers gripping Wei Jingzhuo's upper arm lost their strength, and the severed arm spun twice in the air before falling into the muddy puddle, spraying a trail of blood.
Jiang Li let out a terrified scream, released Wei Jingzhuo's wrist with her left hand, staggered backward, and blood gushed out like a fountain from the broken part of her right shoulder, instantly staining the puddle on the ground deep red.
Wei Jingzhuo stood still, his right leg raised high, and a scimitar as bright as autumn water was inserted into the gap of his leg armor.
Jiang Li couldn't believe his eyes; Wei Jingzhuo had actually severed his right arm.
But whether it was his arm that had fallen into the puddle, his right shoulder that was constantly gushing blood, or the excruciating pain, all of these told him that it was all real.
