Chapter 324 Never to be separated in this life

The Jin army split into two groups, one on the left and one on the right, bypassing the giant, smoking pit and rushing towards the giant crab.

The rain was pouring down, and the battlefield was already muddy. Many Jin soldiers slipped and fell during the charge, but they didn't bother to clean the mud off their bodies and got up to continue charging forward.

Everyone knew that once that blinding green light shot out, many people would die instantly; they were racing against death.

“Your courage is commendable,” Zhang Ying seemed to be moved by the Jin army’s charge, “but unfortunately you insignificant people can never stand against the gods.”

The cannon on the Cancer's right arm was aimed at one of the Jin troops, led by Wei Jingzhuo. Around the cannon's muzzle, clusters of green light rapidly converged, and the green light within the muzzle grew increasingly dazzling.

Just then, a ray of sunlight pierced through the thick rain clouds and shone on the battlefield.

The gray world was originally only illuminated by the green light of the Cancer Cannon muzzle, but when that bright ray of sunlight shone into the battlefield, even the green light dimmed.

"Look, look at the sky!" a soldier shouted excitedly, pointing to the sky.

"A giant eagle! It's a giant eagle!" more people shouted.

A sharp-eyed general spotted the person on the giant eagle and excitedly shouted in a broken voice, "The Queen is back!"

Wei Jingzhuo suddenly reined in his warhorse, and the horse reared up high.

He looked back at the sky, where a vortex-like hole had appeared in the thick black clouds, and bright sunlight streamed in through it. The giant eagle spread its wings and glided swiftly toward the giant crab, while behind it, the black clouds slowly closed in.

The woman sitting atop the giant eagle was none other than Su Wan, whom he had been longing for day and night.

His hand holding the reins trembled slightly, his eyes fixed on the giant eagle.

When the Jin army saw Su Wan flying in on a giant eagle, their morale soared, and they raised their weapons and cheered deafeningly.

"Su Wan, how did you get your hands on the Eagle Whistle?" Zhang Ying asked, sounding somewhat surprised. Then she shouted, "Don't come any closer! What are you doing?"

The giant eagle flew to the front of the cannon on the right arm of the crab, flapped its wings and hovered in the air. Su Wan opened her arms, and her whole body was almost bathed in green light, so only her faint black shadow could be seen.

The cheers of the Jin army turned into screams of alarm. No one expected that Su Wan would go to her death at the cannon muzzle as soon as she appeared on the battlefield.

Chu Yi spurred his horse and galloped to Wei Jingzhuo's side, shouting, "She blocked the cannon's muzzle!"

Wei Jingzhuo looked up at Su Wan in the green light: "No, she is saving us, she is saving all of us."

“Just kidding,” Chu Yi grabbed Wei Jingzhuo’s collar, “She’s dead as soon as the cannon fires.”

As he was shouting, Zhang Ying's helpless voice came from Cancer: "Fine, fine, you're something else, Su Wan."

The green light from the cannon muzzle on the Cancer's right arm flashed briefly and then went out.

Chu Yi didn't understand what was going on, and let go of his hand, asking, "What happened?"

Wei Jingzhuo said, "Awan has the life essence that Zhang Ying needs, so Zhang Ying doesn't dare to kill her."

“I see,” Chu Yi wiped the rain off his face. “But that’s too risky. What if they’re firing right when we fly over?”

Wei Jingzhuo looked up at the giant eagle in the sky: "Then I'll die with her."

The giant eagle circled the cannon once, then suddenly rose up and flew towards the giant crab's body. With one claw, it pushed aside the artificial hill, grabbed the already exhausted and swaying Meng Ruliu, and flew down.

The dark clouds in the sky closed up completely again, and the sunlight disappeared from the earth.

“Su Wan, I’ll spare these ancient people for now,” Zhang Ying’s voice boomed from Cancer, “tell Wei Jingzhuo to withdraw his troops immediately, and you come to see me.”

The giant eagle swept over Wei Jingzhuo and Chu Yi's heads and flew towards the Jin army camp. Su Wan only left behind four words.

"Ah Jin, withdraw the troops."

Wei Jingzhuo turned his horse around and galloped towards the Jin army camp, saying to the passing generals, "Convey my decree: sound the gong to withdraw the troops."

He spurred his horse to the gate of the Jin army camp, leaped off, and galloped through the heavy rain toward the tent where the giant eagle was.

Inside the tent, Meng Ruliu had removed her armor and was lying on the bed, seemingly unconscious. Su Wan was holding Su Yuze's hand, giving instructions to Granny Cui.

"My sister fainted because she was exhausted. She will wake up in a while, so don't worry."

Su Yuze sobbed uncontrollably, and Granny Cui was so excited she could barely speak, saying, "Please entrust the General to this old servant's care. Your Majesty, you're finally back! How come you've become so thin..."

Wei Jingzhuo lifted the tent flap and called out, "A-Wan."

Su Wan released Su Yuze's hand, turned her back to Wei Jingzhuo, and quickly walked towards the inner tent, as if she was avoiding him.

Wei Jingzhuo quickly caught up with her, stretched out his left arm and pulled her into his arms.

Su Wan turned her face away and struggled, saying, "Don't look at me."

After leaving Emerald Island aboard a giant eagle, she first flew to the capital, only to learn that Wei Jingzhuo had already launched an attack on the Southern Chu, targeting the family of divine physicians.

She knew perfectly well how terrifying a family of divine healers could be, so she hurriedly rode a giant eagle towards Southern Chu, praying all the way that she wouldn't be too late. Fortunately, heaven had mercy, and she arrived in time to save the Jin army.

Now that Wei Jingzhuo is right in front of her, she dares not face him.

With her life force dwindling, she was so ugly that even she couldn't bear to look at herself. Su Yuze burst into tears upon seeing her, and Granny Cui was terrified. She wondered if Wei Jingzhuo would despise her if he saw her.

After all, a woman's greatest asset is her appearance.

Her struggle touched Wei Jingzhuo's injured right arm, the broken bones rubbing against each other, causing Wei Jingzhuo to gasp in pain. But he still held Su Wan firmly and gently.

Su Wan's gaze fell on Wei Jingzhuo's arm: "Your arm?"

"I suffered a minor injury."

Su Wan didn't bother to dodge anymore. She quickly and carefully took Wei Jingzhuo's arm and examined it from head to toe, saying, "Fool, it's broken and you still say it's a minor injury. Come into the inner tent, I'll take care of it."
