Chapter 328 Traitor

A piercing alarm sounded down the long corridor, and red lights flashed intermittently.

"Hurry, hurry, hurry!" Su Wan grabbed Wei Jingzhuo's hand and ran towards the door at the end of the corridor.

She knew the code from here all the way to the exit; all she needed to do was run. Zhang Ying had been stabbed in the neck, but she certainly wouldn't die. Once she caught up, she wouldn't be able to escape.

A few meters away from the door, the metal door suddenly slid open to both sides, and Jiang Li appeared in the doorway, completely blocking the way.

Su Wan gasped.

Only one day has passed, and Jiang Li's severed right arm has reappeared. Could it be a clone?

She slammed on the brakes and instinctively raised her hands to shield Wei Jingzhuo behind her, shouting, "Ah Jin, be careful, Jiang Li is in front of us."

Jiang Li was likely the pursuer guarding the passage, preventing their escape. Without the sacred ground to heal his severed arm, Wei Jingzhuo was no match for Jiang Li.

We must protect Ah Jin. There's always a way to overcome difficulties. Let her think of a solution.

Before she could even process what was happening, Wei Jingzhuo wrapped his left arm around her waist, turned around, and placed her behind him to protect her. He turned his head and said gently, "Awan, it's alright."

Just as Su Wan was about to speak, Jiang Li spoke up first: "Wei Jingzhuo, don't be nervous, I won't stop you."

Now it was Su Wan's turn to be shocked. She peeked out from behind Wei Jingzhuo and looked Jiang Li up and down. As expected, Jiang Li had no intention of fighting. His eyes were red, as if he had just been crying, and he was holding a piece of paper covered with writing in his hand.

“This is a map of the Holy Land and the passwords for all the doors,” Jiang Li said. “If you encounter a door that you can’t open, just look at the corresponding number.”

Wei Jingzhuo asked, "Why did you do this?"

Jiang Li said, "There's no reason. Take the paper and leave quickly, the Creator will be catching up soon."

After saying that, he stepped aside, leaned against the wall, closed his eyes, and said, "Don't doubt that I'm bluffing. If I really wanted to deal with the two of you, one hand would be enough."

Su Wan stepped out from behind Wei Jingzhuo and said, "That's right, let's go quickly."

She pulled Wei Jingzhuo to Jiang Li's side, and seeing that Jiang Li's eyes were still closed, she felt relieved and took the paper from him, putting it into the apartment, saying, "Thank you."

Jiang Li turned her back to the two of them and waved her hand, saying, "Let's go."

Watching Su Wan and the other person disappear around the corner, Jiang Li walked forward dejectedly.

Upon entering the room separated by a glass wall, nothing could be seen on the other side; flames and black smoke had engulfed everything.

"Xiao Yi." He placed his hands on the glass wall and knelt down.

The door behind him opened, and Zhang Ying's shrill voice came from behind him: "Where are those two people? Where are those two people?"

Jiang Li turned around and saw Zhang Ying's face contorted, her hair disheveled, a blood-stained bandage wrapped around her neck, and her blue bodysuit covered in bloodstains. She held a defensive pistol in her hand, looking like a ferocious demon.

"I'm leaving," Jiang Li said.

"I told you to guard the exit, but you didn't stop them?" Zhang Ying raised her defensive gun and aimed it at him. "Traitor, you released her from prison, gave her the military knife, and even told her the control center's password. Traitor, traitor."

Zhang Ying screamed angrily and pulled the trigger of her defensive gun, firing a series of green flashes at Jiang Li.

The two pursuers rushed through the door and, seeing Jiang Li's mangled body, exchanged bewildered glances.

"What are you looking at? Put out the fire!" Zhang Ying shouted. Her originally beautiful face, illuminated by the red light, looked like a demon.

“Return to the Creator…” one of the trackers knelt down in fear. “You may have forgotten that you said you wanted to keep the life force devices running at overcapacity, so you personally turned off the fire suppression system.”

"What are you waiting for? Go open it!"

"But...but we don't know the password to activate the fire protection system, that's why we came to you."

Zhang Ying kicked the pursuer, sending him sprawling, and walked to the door, saying to the other one, "First, close off exits three, five, and eight to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas. The password to activate the fire suppression system is..."

"Understood, I'll go activate the fire suppression system right away. Creator, where are you going?"

"I'm going to kill those two people with my own hands, tear them to pieces," Zhang Ying said viciously before running out the door.

...

It rained heavily all day yesterday, stopping late at night. This morning, the dark clouds dispersed, revealing a deep blue sky.

Before the Jin army camp, Meng Ruliu, clad in full blue chainmail and a bright red cloak, rode her prized horse, Snowflake, carrying an armor-piercing spear, pacing back and forth at the camp gate. Beside her were a hundred loyal guard cavalrymen, each carrying a strong bow, a long sword at their waist, and quivers hanging from their saddles.

The sky was azure and the sun was shining brightly, but Meng Ruliu was not happy at all.

Su Wan and Wei Jingzhuo went into Cancer's territory for a whole day without any news. Chu Yi led a scout to investigate, but they returned empty-handed. Impatient as she was, she couldn't stay in her tent any longer, skipping breakfast and heading straight out of the camp to observe.

Chu Mingyao and her brother Chu Yi watched from behind. Chu Mingyao handed a bamboo basket covered with burlap to Chu Yi and whispered, "Seventh brother, these are meat pies I made. Take them to Miss Meng."

"Third sister, I am the ruler of a country..."

"Put aside your vanity. Apologize sincerely, and Miss Meng will stop being angry with you."

"There's no need for me to deliver it personally. Someone, come here!"

Two warriors with curved swords ran over upon hearing the commotion, but were startled by Chu Mingyao's glare and quickly retreated with forced smiles.

Chu Mingyao shoved the bamboo basket into Chu Yi's hands: "If Sister Su couldn't win her over, it's because she already has someone she loves. Miss Meng should definitely try to seize the opportunity."
