Chu Yi drew his scimitar and, before the crab's legs could lift and the floor was stable, gripped the scimitar with both hands and stabbed it into the metal wall with all his might.
With a "ding," the scimitar plunged straight into the wall.
Su Wan was overjoyed and clapped her hands, saying, "Quick, cut an opening."
Chu Yi nodded, gripped the knife handle with both hands and pulled it towards his chest, intending to make an opening. After a lot of effort, he only managed to cut a little over two inches long.
"Move aside, I'll do it." Meng Ruliu stepped forward, snatched the scimitar handle, and changed from pulling to pushing. The scimitar made a clanging sound against the wall, pushing out more than a foot in length.
“Okay, cut downwards like this, make an opening,” Su Wan stared at the distance between the Cancer and the capital of Southern Chu on the screen, “Hurry up.”
Meng Ruliu then turned the curved blade downwards to cut, and then lifted it upwards, finally cutting out a crooked triangle.
"Quickly dig out that piece of metal that was cut off," Su Wan urged. "Cancer is only five miles away from the city."
After the metal wall, cut off by the scimitar, was removed, the interior was exposed. Although it was pitch black and nothing could be seen, the sound of gears turning was much louder than before.
Su Wan walked to the gap, shone her flashlight inside, and saw several huge gears, each taller than her, meshing together and humming as they turned.
“How can we stop them?” She turned to look at the other three people, her gaze falling on the armor-piercing spikes that Meng Ruliu was carrying.
"Sister, aim the armor-piercing spike at this hole and throw it in with all your might. Then remember to hide to the side."
Meng Ruliu took off the armor-piercing awl and said to Su Wan, "Sister, step aside, don't get hurt."
Su Wan ran back to the screen. The scenery on the screen swayed as the crab's legs rose and fell. The capital of Southern Chu was not far away, about three miles away.
"Hurry, Sister Yi," she urged.
Meng Ruliu gripped the armor-piercing spike upside down, aimed at the hole, and swiftly threw it in. Then she quickly dodged to the side.
Several loud metallic clanging sounds came from inside the cave, then the sound of gears turning stopped, replaced by a creaking sound, and the whole room stopped shaking.
Su Wan ran to the hole, shone her flashlight on it, and saw that Meng Ruliu's armor-piercing spike was stuck between the two gears.
"That's great! Now the crab can't walk on that leg." She patted Meng Ruliu's palm. "Sister Yi is awesome."
Wei Jingzhuo stepped forward and said, "Awan, even if this leg is unusable, Cancer still has three legs left, so can't it still move around?"
Su Wan said, "That's all we can do. The rest is up to fate."
I don't know if it's divine intervention or if Cancer really can't walk on three legs. After this leg got stuck, Cancer stopped one kilometer away from the capital of Southern Chu.
"Come quick!" Su Wan ran excitedly to the closed metal door and entered the corresponding password. "We need to get out of here right away. Zhang Ying discovered the problem with this leg and will definitely send someone to check it out."
The four of them exited the joint and ran along a downward-sloping passage. There were many doors on both sides of the passage, one every ten meters.
After running for a while, Su Wan heard voices coming from ahead. She quickly opened the door next to her and called to the three of them, "Come in."
After the four entered the room, Su Wan pressed her ear to the door, listening to the noisy footsteps passing by outside. A man said, "It's strange, why can't the Cancer's legs move for no reason?"
“Never mind that, let’s go see what’s going on,” a woman’s voice said. “We’ll tell the Creator later.”
Su Wan waited for the group of people to pass before turning back to look inside the room.
This was a warehouse with rows of metal cabinets. Chu Yi was opening the door of one of the cabinets to look inside; there were armor worn by the clone army and defensive guns.
"If we had known there were guns here, we wouldn't have brought them," Chu Yi said.
Su Wan said, "Let's go, we need to hurry."
She looked at the piece of paper Jiang Li had given her, which clearly showed the route from the crab's legs to the cloning pod.
All they had to do was find a way to avoid the patrolling soldiers on the road and quietly sneak into the cloning pod.
