Su Wan exclaimed, "Quick, catch him!"
Meng Ruliu, who was closest, turned around and took a large step forward, catching Jiang Wenpei with both hands. Upon seeing that Jiang Wenpei's clothes were completely soaked in blood, she exclaimed in shock, "Mr. Jiang, what happened?"
Jiang Wenpei's eyes were filled with horror, but he couldn't speak. Instead, he coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Chu Yi rushed over in one stride, tore open Jiang Wenpei's clothes to take a look, and said to Su Wan, "He has been stabbed, the sword went through from his back to his chest. Miss Meng, let me carry Mr. Jiang."
Su Wan looked up at the gap: "How is that possible? There's no one here."
Although she didn't know what had happened, it was certain that Jiang Wenpei was injured and bleeding profusely; she needed to treat him immediately.
"Mr. Jiang, hang in there, I'm coming to treat you right away."
Just as she was about to run towards Jiang Wenpei, Wei Jingzhuo grabbed her hand and said, "Awan, look at the gap."
The air in the gap rippled, like the air seen on a hot day, and a figure emerged, initially like a transparent shadow, then gradually becoming solid as it grew darker.
"It's Zhang Ying," Su Wan exclaimed.
Zhang Ying was completely different from before. She wasn't wearing the blue bodysuit, but rather a pair of silver, form-fitting light armor. The armor was extremely thin, its surface as shiny as a mirror, constantly shifting through various colors. In her hand, she held a short sword made of the same material as the armor, its tip dripping blood.
“Su Wan,” Zhang Ying pointed her short sword at Su Wan, “you shut down the cloning, preventing me from using the cannons. Do you think you can just walk away like that?”
Su Wan said, "Zhang Ying, you've already failed, are you still not willing to stop?"
Zhang Ying laughed and said, "I failed? You're too naive. With a little time, I can bypass the mech's security protocol again and restart the clone."
Su Wan said, "Stop bragging. All your powers have been banned."
Zhang Ying was enraged when Su Wan exposed her true intentions. Indeed, as Su Wan said, she could no longer control either the Cancer Cannon or the clone army. Her purpose in coming to Su Wan this time was revenge.
Although Bai Zhiyi was ostensibly responsible for igniting the control center and burning the hibernation pods, her life force originated from Su Wan, so the blame naturally falls on Su Wan.
The life factor extraction device was also completely destroyed, and more than 500 years of operation was ruined. With old grudges and new hatreds combined, nothing could stop her from killing Su Wan.
“You killed Chu Ming, destroyed the life factor machine, and took away my control of the mecha,” she no longer concealed, revealing her ferocity. “I’m going to kill you, kill you.”
Meng Ruliu raised her defensive gun and said, "Sister, it's best to strike first."
Chu Yi and Meng Ruliu simultaneously raised their guns and fired at Zhang Ying. More than a dozen green bullets hit Zhang Ying, but they were all deflected by the strange mirror-like armor.
If the green light that bounced off hadn't burned several large holes in the metal plate next to them, Chu Yi and Meng Ruliu would have thought the guns in their hands were fake.
“Unfortunately, defensive guns can’t penetrate reflective armor,” Zhang Ying said with a smile, pressing her hand on her shoulder. “Since you’re in such a hurry to die, I’ll grant your wish.”
The mirrored armor covering her entire body began to fluctuate strangely again, and her body gradually faded.
In just two or three seconds, Zhang Ying disappeared into thin air.
"Hidden! She's gone invisible!" Su Wan shouted to the others. "Let's run!"
Zhang Ying's armor was clearly from futuristic technology; it could not only withstand bullets from defensive guns but also make her completely invisible. No matter how powerful the people present were, they couldn't fight someone they couldn't see.
Running away is the best option.
Meng Ruliu and Chu Yi were stunned to see Zhang Ying disappear into thin air. They only came to their senses when they heard Su Wan calling out.
Knowing his defensive pistol was useless, Chu Yi simply threw it away, drew his scimitar, and shouted, "Where is she?"
Meng Ruliu, holding Jiang Wenpei, shouted to Chu Yi, "Hurry up, we can't see her."
Before she could finish speaking, Meng Ruliu felt the sound of a sharp weapon cutting through the air behind her. She instinctively dodged to the side, but it was too late. She felt a sudden chill on her lower back as a sharp weapon pierced through her waist and emerged from her left lower abdomen.
She screamed and could no longer hold onto Jiang Wenpei; both of them fell to the ground.
Su Wan's heart was pounding in her chest. She shouted, "Brother Chu, hurry!"
Chu Yi rushed over and wildly brandished his curved sword a few times, but failed to hit anyone. He quickly pulled Meng Ruliu up, put her on his back, and ran away, saying, "Miss Meng, please don't die."
Meng Ruliu pressed her hand against her abdominal wound, gasping for breath, and said, "What are you yelling about?"
Chu Yi had only run a few steps when he felt a sharp weapon cutting through the air in front of him. He was a veteran of countless battles and hurriedly dodged, but his left shoulder was still slashed open.
He knew Zhang Ying was right in front of him, and despite the pain, he swung his sword horizontally, only to miss.
Zhang Ying's voice rang out from nearby: "Don't rush, no one can escape. You're all going to die here today."
