Chapter 346 A Special New Year (The End)

Su Wan turned her gaze back to the sea. In the gently rippling water, Su Yuze, Chu Yun, Lin Qingfeng, and several guards were throwing a ball. Two guards were holding a red rope across the water. The people on either side of the rope tossed the ball back and forth. The ball hit the water, splashing up large sprays.

She took the red ball out of her apartment; she didn't expect these people to have so much fun with it.

Lin Qingfeng was relatively calm, but Chu Yun and Su Yuze were bickering and occasionally letting out excited screams, while the guards laughed heartily.

A pair of large hands emerged from under her armpits and embraced her.

"Want to go down and play together?" Wei Jingzhuo whispered in her ear. "It looks like it would be fun."

"I can't touch cold water," Su Wan said.

After finding out she was pregnant, she suddenly became more cautious, even her walking became less hurried.

Wei Jingzhuo said, "Are you still not fully recovered? Then let's not go swimming, let's take a walk instead."

The two walked hand in hand along the beach to the other side. The laughter and chatter behind them gradually faded away, leaving only the cries of seagulls in the air and the sound of waves crashing on the sand.

Since returning to the capital, Su Wan has taken a particular liking to holding Wei Jingzhuo's hand.

As long as she held his large hand tightly, she felt at peace, happy, and content. Sometimes when she slept, she felt that one hand wasn't enough, so she would cross both of her arms and hold Wei Jingzhuo's hands against her chest, which made her sleep especially soundly.

After walking around Emerald Island, the two stood on a hilltop, gazing at the blue sea and sky.

“She used to live here,” she said.

Wei Jingzhuo nodded: "I know."

There's no need to say names; both people know who the other is referring to.

“She saved us in our most desperate moment,” Wei Jingzhuo said. “I promised to call her Xiaoyi for the rest of my life, but she is no longer here.”

“Yes, we should all thank her properly,” Su Wan said with some emotion. “She gave up the life she had just gained and returned the last bit of life to me so that we could have our child.”

Wei Jingzhuo didn't react at first; he was stunned for two seconds before he understood.

"Oh my god... Oh my god." He knelt on the ground excitedly, reaching out to touch Su Wan's lower abdomen but not daring to. "Can I touch it?"

"Silly boy," Su Wan said with a smile, placing his hand on her lower abdomen. "You've only just gotten pregnant, so feel free to touch me."

At this moment, her heart was filled with pride, joy, and happiness. She was so excited that she wanted to shout out loud, but she was afraid of frightening the child. So she just smiled gently, like any mother who is giving birth to a new life, sacred and tender.

From the moment she transmigrated, she never stopped. All the peace and happiness she enjoys now is something she earned with her own hands, something she deserves.

"Sister, brother-in-law," came Su Yuze's call from behind, "Dinner's ready."

"Ah Jin, let's go," Su Wan said with a smile, wiping away Wei Jingzhuo's tears with her sleeve. "Happy New Year."
