The servant bowed respectfully to Zhao Xiyue, "Miss, the General ordered me to bring Doctor Su here."
When Zhao Xiyue heard that it was indeed her grandfather's order, she looked incredulous.
"Impossible! This is where Brother Jin lives. How could Grandfather let a mere doctor in?"
“Grandfather must have made a mistake…” She shook her head, still not believing what she was hearing.
A servant came up and advised, "Miss, if the general finds out that you're causing trouble here, he'll confine you again. Let's leave here quickly."
She pushed aside the servants and pointed at Su Wan, saying, "Why should a doctor like her live in Brother Jinzhi's courtyard? She's no one to Brother Jinzhi."
The servant glanced at Su Wan, hesitating to speak. He had been present during the conversation in the general's room earlier, and the Doctor Su in front of him was none other than His Highness's wife.
Now that His Highness has acknowledged it, they must treat the person before them as their master.
He couldn't let his young lady cause trouble here, so he suggested, "Why don't you go and ask the general?"
She glared at Su Wan, "Hmph! Fine, I'll go!"
After saying that, she turned around and hurriedly ran to the front yard.
Just then, Wei Jingzhuo came in from outside, and the two almost bumped into each other.
Fortunately, Wei Jingzhuo was quick-witted and dodged the sudden figure with a swift movement.
Zhao Xiyue also stopped and glanced at Wei Jingzhuo, who had an ordinary appearance but a very powerful aura.
She shrank back a little. She had only ever seen such an imposing manner from her brother Jinzhi. Usually, she was still a little afraid of Wei Jingzhuo.
When Su Wan saw Wei Jingzhuo enter, she glanced at Zhao Xiyue standing in front of him, raised an eyebrow, crossed her arms, leaned against the tree, and looked at the two of them with a half-smile.
Wei Jingzhuo glanced at Zhao Xiyue with a cold gaze and said in a chilling tone, "You are not allowed to set foot here again."
He didn't like people getting close to him, so he subconsciously kept his distance from Zhao Xiyue when she approached.
Zhao Xiyue, who was holding back her grievances, forgot her fear upon hearing Wei Jingzhuo's words. She shouted, "Who do you think you are? What right do you have to tell me what to do? This is my home, I can go wherever I want! It's none of your business!"
After yelling, she stopped leaving, seemingly wanting to argue with Wei Jingzhuo.
Wei Jingzhuo ignored her and coldly ordered his servants, "Someone! Throw her out."
Fearing that Wei Jingzhuo might get angry and actually throw his young mistress out, the servants quickly ran over and pulled Zhao Xiyue away.
The young lady did not know who the person in front of her was. As the trusted confidant of the general, how could he not know Wei Jingzhuo's identity? Therefore, he was extremely respectful to Wei Jingzhuo.
The servant bowed to Wei Jingzhuo, then said to Zhao Xiyue, "Miss, please go back. If the general finds out, he will definitely be angry with you."
Zhao Xiyue was most afraid of Zhao Xian getting angry. Hearing the servant's words, she puffed up her little face and her eyes reddened with anger.
"Okay, okay, okay, I knew you all looked down on me!"
Wei Jingzhuo ignored her and walked past her towards Su Wan.
Zhao Xiyue was unconvinced and wanted to say something, but she was pulled outside by the servants.
The servant said, "Miss, you are going to the Lin family's flower viewing banquet the day after tomorrow. The general has ordered that a fine dress be prepared for you. You should go and take a look."
"I don't want to! Let me go..." She struggled against the servant's hands.
"I'm not leaving!"
"Miss……"
The servants pulled her forcefully, dragging her outside while glancing at Wei Jingzhuo.
Seeing that Wei Jingzhuo looked unperturbed, the servants were so frightened that they almost threw him out.
As Zhao Xiyue's voice faded into the distance, he slowly approached Su Wan.
“Ah Wan,” he reached out to grab her, but Su Wan dodged him. He gripped her shoulders, stared into her eyes, and said earnestly, “Don’t avoid me. Listen to me, I have nothing to do with that person.”
Su Wan, who had been watching the drama unfold, immediately turned her smile down, pretending to be nonchalant. "Oh? Are you talking about the cousin who calls you Brother Jinzhi?"
"These cousins seem to be mutually attracted to each other."
Su Wan was completely unaware of how sarcastic her words were.
Wei Jingzhuo suddenly chuckled softly and asked her gently, "A-Wan, do you care about her?"
Su Wan couldn't help but roll her eyes at him, "Why would I care about her? She's nobody to me."
Isn't this ancient story of cousins and older brothers just a classic childhood sweetheart trope?
Wei Jingzhuo looked at her with a sour expression, her eyebrows and eyes becoming increasingly sparse.
He leaned forward and slowly approached Su Wan, his voice low and deep, "Ah Wan, I'm very happy."
Seeing Su Wan glare at him unhappily, he chuckled softly.
Su Wan looked at the handsome face so close to hers, and felt a burning sensation on her face as his deep voice reached her ears.
Looking at her face, which resembled a fiery sunset, Wei Jingzhuo suddenly raised his hand and slowly approached her.
Su Wan was so startled by his sudden action that she froze on the spot. As the man drew closer, she instinctively closed her eyes.
This man is so handsome; none of the handsome men on TV in my previous life could compare to Wei Jingzhuo.
If he kisses her, then she's the one who gets the better deal.
The thought of being kissed by such a perfect man made her heart pound wildly.
A gentle breeze blew by, and she seemed to smell the sweet fragrance of osmanthus blossoms in the air.
But after waiting for a long time, the kiss from that person never came.
She suddenly opened her eyes and saw Wei Jingzhuo holding a flower petal in his hand. He looked at her with a dark gaze and said in a tender voice, "Awan, a flower has fallen into your hair."
