Yang was so angry at Su Wan that she almost exploded on the spot.
What day is it today? That brat Su Wan actually dared to kick open the door and come to demand someone from her?
Do you really think there's no one left in the Su family mansion?
Yang was standing there glaring at her, but Su Wan only glanced at her indifferently, not caring at all.
She wasn't acting recklessly; she did it on purpose, hoping to escalate the situation and, ideally, get Yang to file a complaint with the authorities.
The bigger the commotion, the better.
"Stop talking nonsense. Where is my brother? If I don't see him today," she said, pointing at Su Yue'e, "she won't be able to step out of this courtyard today either."
"You!" Madam Yang pointed at her, trembling with rage. "How dare you threaten me?"
"Yes, that's what I'm threatening you with." Su Wan stared intently at her and urged again, "Bring my younger brother here quickly."
Yang was so angry she almost cursed, "What if I don't let you see me?"
Su Wan's eyes turned cold: "Then Su Yue'e won't be getting married today either."
After saying that, she took a step forward and stood in front of Yang. Before anyone could react, a pair of scissors was placed against Yang's neck.
These scissors are incredibly useful. After dealing with Yang Yaozu, she initially threw them away, but later thought they might come in handy, so she carried them with her again. They can cut, poke, and smash—truly an invaluable weapon.
"Take your own life or bring Yuze here. Choose one."
When Su Yue'e saw that Su Wan had actually held a knife to her mother's neck, she screamed in terror, "Help! Su Wan is going to kill my mother! Su Wan is going to kill my mother!"
Not only Su Yue'e, but even Granny Cui was startled.
This Miss Su looks like a fairy, but how come she's so frightening when she gets into a fight?
Madam Yang glared fiercely at Su Yue'e. This stupid daughter of hers only knew how to scream and yell in tense situations; she was utterly useless.
"Alright," she winked at the servants opposite her, and one of the maids immediately ran out. "You just wait!"
Soon Su Heng led a group of servants over, and even from a distance, Su Heng shouted angrily.
"Su Wan, let go of your second aunt! You little brat, you're absolutely lawless!"
Not seeing Su Yuze made Su Wan's face even more grim. She had promised to take her younger brother with her when they escaped, but now he was nowhere to be found, and she had no idea where Yang Shi had taken him.
"I never imagined that you, Yang, would risk your own life to blackmail me with my brother. Fine, since you've made your choice, I'll grant it to you now!"
Clearly, Yang was betting that she wouldn't dare to make a move. She was also betting that Yang would value her life and bring her younger brother along.
It seems that Yang won't be afraid unless she's taught a lesson.
With a sudden burst of force, the scissors slashed a thin, bloody line across Yang's neck, causing Su Yue'e to scream in terror.
"How dare you!" Madam Yang's voice trembled noticeably. "Su Wan, if you dare to hurt me today, neither you nor your brother will leave here alive!"
Su Wan didn't care about Yang's threats; she wasn't afraid even if the matter went to the county government.
She raised her hand and with a swift motion, cut off a tuft of Yang's hair and threw it in front of her.
"Mother! What are you all standing there for? Go save my mother!" Su Yue'e shouted at the servants.
The servants surrounded Su Wan, but seeing the gleaming scissors in her hand, none dared to approach. Although Su Wan was a woman, if she went berserk and started stabbing around with the scissors, it would be terrible to get hurt.
Su Wan's ears were about to explode from Su Yue'e's crying and fussing. She snapped at Su Yue'e, "Shut up. If you keep making noise, I'll sew your mouth shut with a needle."
Su Yue'e was so frightened that she choked and immediately shut her mouth.
If Su Wan had said that before, she would have taken it as a joke. But now it's different; she's genuinely afraid that Su Wan might actually sew her mouth shut in a fit of madness.
How come I never noticed Su Wan's abilities before?
In the past, no matter what outrageous things she did to Su Wan, Su Wan would not utter a single word for a long time. She was a model of enduring humiliation and swallowing her anger. This was a completely different extreme from the crazy girl in front of her now.
Su Heng had been observing the situation on the field. Seeing that Su Wan was arguing with Su Yue'e and her mind was not on him, he quickly gave a wink to the servants behind Su Wan.
The servant nodded, tiptoed forward, and suddenly grabbed Yang's arm and pulled her outward with all his might.
Su Wan was momentarily careless. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of a black shadow flashing behind her. Before she could react, Yang Shi had already been pulled away by that person.
Seeing that Yang was out of danger, Su Heng immediately trembled and ordered the servants around him, "Tie up this wretched girl!"
The servants agreed and surrounded Su Wan.
Despite the danger, Su Wan remained calm. Her thoughts scanned the pharmacy before settling on a row of sulfuric acid. This substance was highly corrosive and could be used for self-defense in an emergency.
She took a bottle, uncapped the sulfuric acid, and held it up to the approaching servants: "Let's see who dares to come any closer?"
The servants Su Heng brought were all burly men, and they didn't take her words seriously at all.
She's just a weak woman; who is she trying to scare by holding up a bottle?
One of the servants, eager to make a contribution, tugged at the rope in his hand and rushed forward first.
Su Wan narrowed her eyes. Since they were courting death, she wouldn't hold back.
Without hesitation, she flung the bottle away, spilling half of it with sulfuric acid.
The man was hit squarely in the face, his skin hissing and emitting white smoke. He dropped the rope, covered his face with his hands, and rolled on the ground screaming.
Su Heng was horrified upon seeing this. He wondered what kind of poison the girl was holding, that it had instantly brought down such a burly man.
