Chapter 319 No More Turning Around

The moment he entered the battle, Wei Jingzhuo raised his longsword and thrust it straight at Jiang Li's chest like a dragon emerging from the sea.

Jiang Li seemed caught off guard by Wei Jingzhuo's sword speed and hurriedly stopped. Just as he was about to raise his hand to block, the sharp sword light had already swept past his arm.

With a clang, the sword tip touched Jiang Li's chest, but it was like hitting iron, unable to penetrate even an inch.

"You think your sword can hurt me?" Jiang Li said smugly, spreading his five fingers to grab the blade of the longsword.

Wei Jingzhuo withdrew his longsword and thrust it at Jiang Li's abdomen again. The result was the same as before; it couldn't harm Jiang Li at all.

Jiang Li initially didn't know Wei Jingzhuo's background, but after taking two sword wounds, he realized that Wei Jingzhuo couldn't hurt him, and he felt relieved.

He stopped trying to grab the blade, instead clenching his fists and using his abdomen to brace the longsword as he walked towards Wei Jingzhuo, bending the blade instantly.

Before he could get close, Wei Jingzhuo sheathed his sword and turned to flee into the distance.

Jiang Li pursued relentlessly, shouting, "Your sword can't hurt me, so you're scared out of your wits? Stop and fight me!"

On the stone steps of the sacred site, beside the Resurrection Stele, Zhang Ying laughed loudly and shouted, "Wei Jingzhuo, don't run away! A dignified ruler of a country, do you only know how to tuck your tail between your legs and run away? Your generals and soldiers are all watching you."

On the other side, the soldiers of the Great Jin Dynasty watching the battle were completely silent, their eyes following the two figures one in front and one behind.

Meng Ruliu was restless on horseback, ignoring the rain on her face, and said to Chu Yi, "What should we do? His Majesty stabbed twice, but he couldn't hurt Jiang Li."

Chu Yi crossed his arms and sighed, "These two sword strikes, in terms of both speed and power, are at their peak. I'm not confident I could block them..."

Seeing that he was still criticizing, Meng Ruliu said angrily, "What time is it? You still have the leisure to comment on swordsmanship?"

Chu Yi said, "No rush. People who have been given the secret medicine are invulnerable to swords and spears, except for their eyes, which is a weakness, as Jinzhi knows. His first two sword strikes were just to lure Jiang Li into lowering his guard and chasing him. As long as he finds an opportunity to stab Jiang Li in the eyes, he can win."

Meng Ruliu asked, "Seduction?"

Chu Yi said, "When two people duel, they will not attack with all their might at the beginning, but will probe each other's strengths and weaknesses. Only after understanding each other's strengths and weaknesses will they attack."

Meng Ruliu said blankly, "The more you talk, the more confused I get."

Chu Yi smiled and said, "General, have you ever seen a cat catching a snake?"

"No."

"Okay, let me give you a simpler example. Have you ever seen a dog bite a hedgehog?"

“No,” Meng Ruliu said. “When I was fighting the enemy general, I went up and swung my hammer around to smash him.”

“That’s for dealing with people weaker than you, but it won’t work against someone like Jiang Li,” Chu Yi pointed, “Look, they’ve run up to the truck carrying the stones.”

Meng Ruliu turned her gaze and saw that Wei Jingzhuo and Jiang Li had run to a huge rock.

Hundreds of thousands of laborers had been excavating Jinhua Mountain, unearthing many huge stones, which were transported down the mountain to build the Jin army camp. After they reached the metal wall of the sacred site, the laborers immediately withdrew, leaving behind many huge stones and wheelbarrows on the road between Jinhua Mountain and the Jin army camp.

These stones range in size from several hundred kilograms to as large as half a house. Dozens of logs are placed under each large stone, and thick ropes are tied to the stones for dragging.

Wei Jingzhuo ran to a boulder taller than a person and hid behind it.

Jiang Li caught up and chased after him from one side, saying, "You think running away will work?"

Wei Jingzhuo didn't turn back, but circled around the boulder with Jiang Li.

This boulder is as big as half a house. When the heavy rain pours down on it, the rainwater cascades down its edges, forming several small waterfalls.

Jiang Li could initially see the hem of Wei Jingzhuo's clothes, but after chasing him around, he couldn't see him anymore. He thought Wei Jingzhuo had run too fast and circled behind him, so he turned around and chased after him again, but still couldn't see Wei Jingzhuo.

He stood there in confusion when a murderous aura suddenly appeared above his head.

Wei Jingzhuo had somehow leaped to the top of the boulder, gripped his longsword with both hands, raised it high, and slashed it down with all his might at Jiang Li's head.

Jiang Li only looked up when he heard the sound of a sword blade cutting through the air above him, and the long sword had already slashed his forehead.

With a loud bang, sparks flew from Jiang Li's forehead, and his longsword was bounced more than a foot high.

Wei Jingzhuo used all his strength in this strike, and although he was still bounced back, Jiang Li was not unharmed. A thin line of blood appeared on her forehead, and the rain washed the wound clean in the blink of an eye. It turned out that her skin had been broken.

Jiang Li touched her forehead, looked at the blood on her fingers in surprise, and said angrily, "You...you bastard, you actually played this kind of trick on me."

For the first time in two hundred years, he tasted what pain was like.

He angrily punched the boulder, which made a loud noise and immediately split into several large pieces, with the fragments shooting out dozens of feet away.

Wei Jingzhuo, who was on the boulder, was prepared. He stepped on a large rock and leaped into the air, landing in the distance. He then waved to Jiang Li.

Jiang Li grew even angrier, grabbed a massive boulder weighing at least a thousand pounds, and hurled it overhead at Wei Jingzhuo. Wei Jingzhuo dodged it, but the boulder struck a cart, shattering it to pieces.

Meng Ruliu gasped in astonishment, saying, "That power is truly immense."

She fought against the Fifth Prince Chu Kai at Yanxun Pass. Chu Kai, wielding a halberd, charged through the Jin army, killing countless soldiers, yet he had never displayed such terrifying strength empty-handed. Now, seeing the stone Jiang Li lifted, which must have weighed a thousand pounds, he lifted it easily and threw it three zhang (approximately 10 meters) away. If Wei Jingzhuo hadn't dodged quickly, he would have been smashed to pieces if hit by the stone.
