Qiu Jie was drinking porridge when she heard this. She sneered, put the spoon back in the bowl, and put down the mask she had lifted.
"I have devoted myself to assisting you, not for the sake of Southern Chu's hegemony, but only to kill Wei Jingzhuo. If you don't go to the north, where will you go?"
Chu Yi said, "Could you please take off your mask?"
Qiu Jie said, "No, it will scare you."
Chu Yi didn't press the matter, and smiled, "You danced beautifully today; I've never seen such a beautiful dance before. Why did you change back into your black robe?"
“Flattery is useless to me,” Qiu Jie replied coldly and firmly. “As long as I go and beat up Wei Jingzhuo, I can wear nice clothes and dance for you.”
Chu Yi sighed and said, "I did promise to help you avenge yourself, but now is really, really not the time to attack the Western Rong. It's freezing cold, and our army has been fighting hard for days; they need rest and recuperation..."
"So what's your plan?"
"I will recuperate at Xiping Pass and get through this harsh winter. When spring arrives and flowers bloom, I will march on to the capital."
Qiu Jie suddenly stood up: "Then...aren't you going to help me get revenge?"
"Wei Jingzhuo has no troops left. Do you really have to kill him?"
"That's right, as long as he's alive, it feels like there's a knife twisting in my heart..."
Chu Yi said, "As long as he's alive, won't you come back to Southern Chu with me?"
“If you insist on taking me back to Southern Chu, the only outcome will be my corpse,” Qiu Jie said. “Don’t think I’m just trying to scare you.”
Chu Yi raised his hands in surrender and said, "Don't make it sound so scary. I'll help you get revenge."
