Chapter 269 The Method to Kill the White Walkers

Chu Mingyao stood on high ground and shouted, "Sister, run to me quickly!"

Chu Yi struggled to his feet and stumbled to pick up a hammer from the ground, saying, "Let me help you."

Su Wan thought to herself, "Do you think I don't know how to run fast? I'm not an athlete."

She had to find a way to get to the lab quickly, open the door for everyone, and let them hide inside. As long as Jiang Yan couldn't see them, he wouldn't chase after them.

A large pool of molten iron blocked her path, so she had to go around it. If she stepped on the molten iron and burned her foot, she would be doomed. Jiang Yan, however, was not afraid of the molten iron at all. He simply stomped on the molten iron, making it splash everywhere, and blocked the way between her and the iron ladder.

Su Wanxin felt a pang of pain, thinking that she was doomed.

Just as Jiang Yan was about to pounce, water sprayed down from the ceiling as if it were a torrential downpour.

The ground was covered with molten iron, which hissed and emitted large amounts of white steam when it was poured on, instantly enveloping the entire forging room in thick white mist.

Su Wan had been in despair when she saw the billowing steam and could no longer see. She thought to herself, "Heaven is helping me!"

Jiang Shan didn't know whether to hate him or thank him. He closed the door to save his own life, but unintentionally, releasing the water saved her life as well.

She wiped the rain off her face, slowly moved her feet, and walked towards the iron ladder.

The water spraying from the ceiling was like a waterfall; after only a few meters, the water was already above knee-deep. Steam filled the air, obscuring everything. Jiang Yan had stopped yelling and was nowhere to be seen.

She dared not walk too fast, afraid that the sound of her wading would be heard by Jiang Yan. But if she didn't hurry, the water would rise further, and she couldn't swim.

What made her even more nervous was that the steam was being washed away by the water and was starting to dissipate.

After walking another dozen or so steps, the water had risen above her chest. The buoyancy increased, and she felt her feet were about to lose contact with the ground. Panicked, she plunged into the water and began thrashing about wildly.

People who can't swim panic when they fall into the water. It's an uncontrollable fear.

"Miss Su." Chu Yi's voice rang out on the water's surface, followed by a large hand reaching into the water and scooping her up.

Su Wan spat out a mouthful of water, thinking, "Thank goodness, if it weren't for Brother Chu, I probably would have drowned."

“Run!” she warned Chu Yi. “He heard me splashing in the water.”

She was now almost directly below the zigzag staircase. Chu Yi didn't say anything, carrying the hammer in one hand and hoisting her onto his shoulder with the other, he ran up the stairs.

She had only gone up two floors when a strange cry came from the mist below. Black claws emerged from the mist, and Su Wan screamed and desperately raised her head. The black claws swept past her from below with the wind.

If I hadn't reacted quickly, my head would have been smashed to pieces.

A heavy thud came from below the stairs, splashing water high into the air. After a pause, there was another splash, as if something had leaped out of the water.

This time, Jiang Yan jumped even higher, grabbing the stair railing with both hands, instantly twisting the finger-thick railing.

"Quick, Seventh Brother!" Chu Mingyao stood above and reached out to grab Chu Yi's hands. She pulled him upwards with all her might. Chu Yi used the leverage to step onto the last step and put Su Wan down.

Several other girls pointed down and screamed, "Your Highness, he's climbed up!"

Below the crowd, Jiang Yan gripped the railing of the iron ladder and climbed up like a monkey.

Chu Yi swung the sledgehammer, about to smash it down. Su Wan got up and stopped him, saying, "It's no use, come with me."

She placed the resurrection pendant in the recess at the laboratory door. The laboratory door opened, and she waved, "Everyone, quickly hide inside the laboratory."

After everyone had entered the laboratory, Su Wan went in and closed the door, quickly saying, "Quickly hide where he can't see you."

Some people chose to hide behind doors, while others chose to hide under windows. One petite girl even hid directly inside the cabinet where the defense guns were kept.

A loud thud came from outside the door, as if someone was stepping on the platform. Jiang Yan, soaking wet, walked past the window, looking around but seeing no one.

The water level rose rapidly and soon submerged the platform. Jiang Yan lost his footing and fell into the water. After thrashing about a dozen times, he sank to the bottom.

Su Wan waited a few more moments before peeking out through the glass.

The water level has reached the ceiling, and looking out through the glass, it feels like being in an underwater world.

"Everyone, come and look!" Chu Mingyao pointed into the distance and said, "Is that the figure submerged in the water the head of the Jiang family?"

Everyone emerged from their hiding places and cautiously peered outside.

Su Wan asked, "He's the only one left in the forging room. Is he moving?"

Chu Yi also came over to take a look and laughed, "It's obviously not moving anymore. If it were still alive, it would definitely keep thrashing about, just like the goddess did just now."

Upon hearing this, everyone placed their hands on their chests. After being chased by monsters all the way, they were finally no longer afraid.

Su Wan rolled her eyes at Chu Yi and said, "Sister Chu, I used to think you were too strict with him, but now I think you were too lenient."

Chu Mingyao said to Chu Yi, "Seventh brother, go stand in the corner and face the wall."

Chu Yi protested, "Third Sister, I don't think I said anything wrong. Why are you punishing me?"

Chu Mingyao said, "These are all women here, their clothes are soaked. A gentleman does not look at what is improper, do I need to remind myself of that?"

Chu Yi tore off a strip of cloth and quickly wrapped it around his eyes: "Just don't look. Does the Goddess still have bread? I just finished dealing with Patriarch Jiang, and now I'm hungry again."

“You ate all the bread,” Su Wan said, pulling out a bunch of snacks and bottled water and placing them on the table. “Here are sunflower seeds, chewing gum, spicy strips, and jelly.”

Several girls gathered around, their eyes wide with amazement. One of them asked, "Goddess, where did you come from?"
