Chapter 287 White Petals

Before meeting Wei Jingzhuo, Su Wan decided to pick some fresh flowers. After all, he was a seriously ill patient being discharged from the hospital, so she should at least send a bouquet of flowers to express her congratulations.

Jinhua Mountain was covered with flowers of various colors, their subtle fragrance filling the air, each vying for attention. She had the giant eagle land in the most abundant spot of the flowerbed, then hopped down to pick them.

Amidst the tender green grass, unnamed flowers dotted the landscape. Some bloomed in unrestrained exuberance, their purple petals as large as her palm, filling her with a sense of vibrant life. Others shyly budded, like demure young ladies meeting strangers for the first time, their pink faces half-veiled. Still others stood proudly, a solitary yellow flower rising above the vast sea of grass, like an emperor reigning supreme.

The grass was a magnificent carpet, and the flowers were like scattered pearls. Colorful butterflies fluttered around the blossoms, while industrious bees buzzed and sang above the tiny stamens. When a gentle breeze blew, the grass and flowers trembled slightly, creating ripples of emerald green. The fragrance of flowers mingled with the scent of fresh grass and a faint earthy aroma, drifting past her.

Feeling refreshed, she took a couple of breaths of the floral fragrance, squatted down, picked a handful of pretty flowers, and wrapped the bouquet in wrapping paper.

Twenty-one fresh flowers, some purple, some yellow, some pink... The innermost layer of the wrapping paper was cellophane, the inner lining was pearlescent tissue paper with mesh, the outer packaging was dark green and dark brown two-tone European paper, and the tie was a simple moon white. She felt that this would better highlight the beauty of the flowers.

She arranged the bouquet, held it up to look at it, and was quite satisfied.

Just then, a small white flower at her feet caught her eye.

Compared to those colorful flowers, this little white flower appears simple and aloof. Although the white petals are large, they are thin and soft, almost transparent, making it look pitiful. Only a tiny bit is attached to the stem, trembling gently, like a child wearing only a thin coat in the snow.

She reached out to shield it from the wind. Just as she did, a petal quietly fell, landing on a blade of green grass and being caught.

The harsh winter has passed, and everyone is about to begin singing praises of spring, but is it about to wither away?

She reached out her finger, carefully picked up the petal, and placed it back next to the stamen of the little white flower. Then she stood up and walked away until she thought the wind would no longer affect the little white flower, before she blew her whistle to call the giant eagle.

The giant eagle circled Jinhua Mountain for half a turn before landing in an open space outside the sacred grounds of the divine physician family.

Jiang Wenpei was waiting there when she jumped down from the giant eagle. Jiang Wenpei stepped forward and bowed.

"Goddess, you blocked the mouth of the Gui River and saved countless people. Your merits are immeasurable."

Su Wan waved her hand and said, "I didn't do anything. It was the Creator who gave me the ice seed, and I just threw it down from the sky."

It wasn't feigned modesty; she genuinely felt she hadn't done anything. After all, digging up the Guijiang Estuary was essentially the work of another version of herself; she was merely making amends for her sins and didn't feel there was anything to be proud of.

Jiang Wenpei smiled slightly and changed the subject, saying, "When the Goddess went to block the mouth of the Gui River, I had already pushed the General out of the clinic and temporarily placed him in the herb garden... The Holy Land is currently full of ruins and there is not a decent room. I feel deeply guilty."

The entire holy site had been ravaged by the White Walkers, with only the herb garden and two houses remaining. For the past few days, everyone had been living in tents in the open area.

Unable to contain her excitement, Su Wan lifted her foot and said, "It's alright, I'll go right now."

"Please allow me to lead the way..."

"Don't come," Su Wan said, turning from walking to running and jumping up the steps. "I can go by myself."

“Oh, right, there’s one more thing I forgot to mention,” Jiang Wenpei said from behind her, “The birds are quite happy that the goddess blocked the mouth of the Gui River…”

Before he could finish speaking, Su Wan had already disappeared.

...

“Ah Jin”.

Just seeing his back standing there, Su Wan couldn't help but shout and jump towards Wei Jingzhuo.

Wei Jingzhuo stood between two medicinal herb fields in the herb garden, gazing at the sky. He wore a pure white robe, his long, jet-black hair cascading down his back, his posture as upright as a pine tree on a snow-capped mountain, radiating an icy aura that kept strangers at bay.

Hearing her call, he turned around in surprise, his coldness and arrogance instantly vanishing as he stretched out his arms to her.

"Ah Wan, I've been looking for you."

"Wait, wait a minute."

Just as she was about to throw herself into Wei Jingzhuo's arms, Su Wan quickly stopped, tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, suppressed her inner joy, and solemnly raised the bouquet in her hands: "This is for you."

Wei Jingzhuo took the bouquet, took a deep breath under his nose, smiled, and opened his arms to Su Wan.

Su Wan cheered and jumped up, throwing herself into Wei Jingzhuo's arms. Wei Jingzhuo spun her around in his arms, then lowered his head and kissed her lips.

Su Wan wrapped her arms around Wei Jingzhuo's neck, responding passionately. Unconsciously, tears welled up in her eyes, flowing down and dripping onto Wei Jingzhuo's chest.

“You cried.” Wei Jingzhuo lifted the corner of his sleeve to wipe the tears from her face.

"I was so worried about you," Su Wan buried her face in Wei Jingzhuo's chest. "Besides, I'm a woman, isn't it normal for me to cry? Are you really all better?"

Wei Jingzhuo used both arms to lift her up horizontally and laughed, "Do I look injured?"

Su Wan exclaimed, "Quickly put me down! What if you strain your muscles from using too much force?"

Wei Jingzhuo put her down, and she pressed here and there on Wei Jingzhuo's chest with her fingers, but couldn't feel anything unusual. So she simply pulled open his clothes and saw a faint red circle on Wei Jingzhuo's right chest.
