Chapter 132 This meal was paid for by Chu Yi.

Upon seeing the person who had called out, Su Wan instinctively took a step back.

It was actually Chu Yi.

This time, he changed into a merchant's attire, and at first glance, he really did resemble a merchant quite a bit.

She still remembered that Chu Yi suddenly appeared that night, claiming he wanted to take her away. Wei Jingzhuo almost got into a fight with him, but she shouted and called soldiers to stop the fight.

He hasn't appeared since he left, so his appearance in this restaurant is quite unexpected.

She had already walked some distance inside, and the guards probably hadn't expected Chu Yi to appear, so no one was there to protect her closely.

Seeing her nervous expression, Chu Yi smiled and said in a light tone, "Brother Su, don't be so polite, come and sit down."

Su Wan smiled and shook her head, intending to go downstairs.

Chu Yi's private room was near the stairwell. He took two steps, blocking the stairs, and gestured for the private room to enter.

The waiter came over and saw the two people stuck at the bottom of the stairs. He stepped aside and said to Su Wan, "Young master, since he is someone you know, why don't you sit in a private room with him? I just checked, and all the other private rooms are occupied."

Su Wan grinned, and seeing the waiter walk down the stairs, she whispered to Chu Yi, "Move aside, I need to go down."

Chu Yi remained unmoved, his smile unchanged, and said softly, "I kindly invited Miss Su to dinner, are you not even going to give me this much face?"

Su Wan said, "It's like a weasel offering New Year's greetings to a chicken; who knows what you're up to?"

"It's just a thought of inviting the girl to dinner," Chu Yi shook his head. "I am a prince of Southern Chu. Do you think I would be so hypocritical as to say one thing and mean another like a boorish person?"

Su Wan still didn't believe it and turned to look at the stairs, hoping the guards would appear. Chu Yi guessed her age and laughed, "Miss Su, although your followers are more than capable of dealing with the thugs of Baohe Hall, I don't take them seriously."

"You saw it all?" Su Wan was somewhat surprised when she heard him say that.

“Yes, I was standing in the crowd outside watching when Miss Su caused such a scene at Baohetang,” Chu Yi said. “If I wanted to arrest you, I wouldn’t have waited until now.”

Su Wan blushed. It turned out that Chu Yi had been watching the commotion from outside.

"If you don't want to arrest me," she asked, "why are you in a restaurant?"

"I'm hungry," Chu Yi said as he left the stairwell and headed towards the private room. "Who knew you'd be fussing around in there for so long? I've been standing there all morning."

Su Wan couldn't help but smile and followed Chu Yi into the private room.

In the elegant private room, eight dishes were laid out on a deep red octagonal table, each dish fried, stir-fried, or braised, emitting a fragrant aroma. There was also a set of cups and chopsticks, and a pot of wine.

"I just ordered and haven't even touched my chopsticks yet," Chu Yi said to her. "I just saw Miss Su coming upstairs and thought I'd invite you to eat with me."

Seeing that the dishes were still steaming hot, Su Wan knew they had been served recently. She sat down casually and said, "I'm taking care of my business at Baohe Hall. Why are you here too?"

Chu Yi smiled slightly and said in a low voice, "What if I said I came with Miss Su?"

Su Wan blurted out, "So you're a stalker."

Chu Yi was taken aback at first, then laughed and said, "I was just joking. I came to Suiyang County on business and happened to see the young lady causing a scene at Baohe Hall."

"real?"

“Of course it’s true,” Chu Yi said, feigning a headache. “Miss Su, please don’t always doubt me. How can a prince be an emperor if he always talks nonsense?”

Su Wan asked curiously, "Then what are you doing in Suiyang?"

“I can’t tell you this, Miss,” Chu Yi pushed the cup and chopsticks in front of him to Su Wan. “Please have your meal, Miss Su.” He then got up and went to the cabinet next to him to get a set.

Su Wan didn't want to pry into private matters. She was very hungry, so she picked up her chopsticks and started eating.

Chu Yi picked up some food and put it in Su Wan's bowl, watching her eat. After a while, he said, "Miss Su, you look troubled. Why don't you tell me what's wrong?"

"No," Su Wan shook her head, then reached for another dish with her chopsticks. "This braised pork slices are good, the waiter really didn't lie to me. A bowl of rice, please."

She and Chu Yi didn't have much of a relationship to begin with; they weren't close enough for each other to need help.

Chu Yi got up and called the waiter: "Bring a bowl of rice."

The waiter brought in a bowl of rice and placed it on the table.

"Shouldn't one bowl be enough for Miss Su?" Chu Yi ladled a bowl and placed it in front of Su Wan. "I have a big appetite, so I'll take the rest."

Su Wan glanced at the rice bowl; it was only about the size of a fist. The bowl was just a flat portion of rice. She figured it would be gone in a couple of bites.

Who says women have to eat less? Please, if a girl eats little, it's because she eats too many snacks and therefore doesn't eat much at meals. She didn't eat any snacks at all.

She stood up, took a rice spoon, scooped rice into the bowl, and pressed it down with the spoon. Then she scooped another spoonful of rice into the bowl and pressed it down again. Only after pressing it down firmly did she sit down and start eating.

Chu Yi stared in disbelief as she devoured the food, finishing a bowl of rice in no time.

“Miss Su is so straightforward,” Chu Yi said, picking up his bowl. “Watching you eat makes me feel like the food is really delicious.”

Su Wan picked up a spoon to add more rice: "Being able to eat is a blessing."

The two devoured the rice, finishing it all and even half of the dishes on the table. Su Wan leaned back contentedly, saying, "I'm full."

Chu Yi smiled and said, "Miss Su, don't you think we're a perfect match?"

"Who's a good match for you?" Su Wan said. "You're so good with your sweet talk, are you up to something again?"

Do you remember the first time we met?

"I don't remember."

Chu Yi said, "You disguised yourself as a beggar, right? So did I. Now that I've met you, Miss Su, you're dressed as a man again. This shows that Miss Su and I both like to present ourselves to the outside world under different identities. Besides, we both eat very happily."
