Chapter 284 Mental Confusion

Su Wan made a funny face, which really angered Xie Maoliang.

His original pleasure was watching the two women's despair and helplessness as they fled for their lives, but unexpectedly, Su Wan started to tease him as she ran. Unable to see Su Wan's location, he simply raised his gun and fired wildly, bursts of green light flying from the muzzle, causing trees to fall one after another.

After firing dozens of shots, Su Wan let out a scream.

He followed the sound and found the location, where a tree had fallen and was pressing down on Su Wan's calf. Su Wan was in great pain, trying to push against the tree trunk with both hands. The tree must have weighed several hundred pounds; she couldn't move it at all.

"Hahaha, now you can't escape."

Xie Maoliang hung his defensive pistol back on his waist, drew his longsword, and slowly walked towards Su Wan: "Killing you directly would be too boring."

Su Wan glanced behind him and said, "Xie Maoliang, someone's here."

Xie Maoliang laughed and said, "You're trying to trick me into turning back so you can use dirty tricks. This general won't fall for your scheme."

He had been following Su Wan for a while and knew that Su Wan was prone to coming up with strange ideas. It was late at night, in the suburbs; who could be coming from?

Su Wan said, "It's true, your enemy has come looking for you."

Xie Maoliang didn't believe it at all, and walked up to Su Wan, saying, "I just said that I would cut out your tongue first, you..."

Before he could finish speaking, he felt a loud thud on the cheek protectors of his helmet, as if something had caught them, and a body leaned against his back. He tried to turn his head to see who it was, but the person was incredibly strong, and he couldn't turn around.

He was shocked. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw two armless arms on either side, which were holding his helmet in place.

"Bai Zhiyi!" he exclaimed.

To his utter surprise, Bai Zhiyi, who had supposedly died, came back to life and appeared behind him.

Could it be that Bai Zhiyi has turned into an evil spirit and come to seek revenge on him?

He was so frightened that the hairs on his body stood on end, and he turned his longsword and thrust it backward with all his might.

He could clearly feel the longsword piercing through his body. His body was extremely hard, like a wooden board, yet the longsword still managed to penetrate it.

Anyone pierced by the longsword would immediately lose their strength. But the arms gripping his helmet didn't loosen; instead, they tightened even more. The helmet creaked and began to cave in, trapping his head inside.

Xie Maoliang was terrified and roared, "Impossible, this isn't human!"

Even a strongman cannot easily bend a hard iron helmet, so how did Bai Zhiyi, who has no hands, manage to do it?

Su Wan said to him, "Of course it's not a person, it's an evil spirit seeking revenge on you."

Xie Maoliang thrust his sword backward again, this time as if striking an iron plate with a resounding clang. In the blink of an eye, Bai Zhiyi's body transformed into an indestructible form of steel.

"It really is a ghost, a ghost!" Xie Maoliang roared, dropping his longsword and grabbing Bai Zhiyi's right arm with both hands, trying to pry it open.

The helmet clamped tightly onto his head, continuing to compress inwards, making his head ache as if it were about to split open. But the arm was like an iron rod, and no matter how hard he tried with both hands, he couldn't budge it, as it continued to slowly and firmly close inwards.

He felt his skull cracking and popping, and all he could see was white light.

In despair, he reached for the defensive pistol at his waist, pointed it behind him, and pressed the button several times.

He could see the green light appear and hear the beam of light hitting the tree trunk; in theory, it should have worked. But his arms continued to tighten.

He completely broke down and shouted, "No way, I must be dreaming."

Su Wan shook her head and said, "Xie Maoliang, you're not dreaming. Those beams you shot all went through Miss Bai's abdominal wound. It seems even the heavens have given up on helping you. You should honestly go to hell and repent for your sins."

His arms snapped together, flattening the helmet completely, and red and white liquid poured out from the gaps in the helmet.

Bai Zhiyi spread her arms, letting Xie Maoliang's body pile up on the ground. Then, like a lost child, she wandered around aimlessly until she reached Su Wan and stared straight at her, as if trying to identify who she was.

Su Wan looked at Bai Zhiyi's dark red, tangled, and bumpy face and sighed inwardly. She couldn't believe Bai Zhiyi's face had been ruined like this; she looked no different from a demon.

A woman's face is probably the most important thing, and ruining it like this is no different from killing her.

She didn't know if Bai Zhiyi had become a White Walker, but judging from the situation, she probably hadn't. Even if she had, her calves were pinned to the tree trunk, leaving her completely unable to escape and with no choice but to wait for her death.

Bai Zhiyi stared at her for a while before saying, "Isn't this Xiaoju? What are you doing sitting there in a daze?"

Su Wan was taken aback at first, then she remembered. Xiao Ju was the maid who had always been by Bai Zhiyi's side, and she had also died in that explosion.

Why would Bai Zhiyi mistake her for Xiao Ju? Has her mind become confused?

Doping can cause people to lose their minds, but it's surprising that it took effect so quickly on a woman.

Seeing that Bai Zhiyi was serious and not acting, she simply went along with it and agreed, "Miss, it's me. My leg is trapped under a big tree, please help me."

Bai Zhiyi curled her lips and said, "You brat, you always like to ridicule me. Now you know how to beg me?"

As she spoke, she gripped the tree trunk with both arms and easily lifted the entire tree. Su Wan pulled her leg out, feeling a piercing pain; it was probably broken. It seemed she could only return to her family of renowned healers for treatment.

"Get up," Bai Zhiyi said, throwing aside the tree and turning around to give orders like a master of the house. "Tell the driver to prepare the carriage. We're going to the General's Mansion now."
