Chapter 17 Strange Phenomenon from the Sky

Upon hearing the sounds of fighting and the words coming from behind, Su Wan patted the little donkey's back vigorously.

The little donkey was gentle by nature. Even though Su Wan was hitting it hard, it just shook its head and slowly ran back.

"The deposed crown prince must be nearby. I'll deal with Guard Lin here, you all go and kill the deposed crown prince!"

"See that woman up ahead? Follow her!"

"That woman must be the deposed crown prince's new wife. Kill her too!"

Hearing what those people said, Su Wan turned pale with fright, and large beads of sweat dripped down her cheeks.

As she rode the donkey, she kept looking back, fearing that a long knife might fly from behind and strike her.

The little donkey could never outrun a horse, and soon Su Wan was surrounded by seven or eight assassins in black.

She feigned composure, clasped her hands in a fist and bowed to the man in black: "Heroes and gentlemen, I do not know that man. We are just passing by and traveling together. I have just finished treating someone and am on my way home. Please do not misunderstand."

"Stop talking nonsense. Who cares who you are? Just kill me."

These people were different from the bandits; they didn't talk much and didn't listen to Su Wan's explanation at all.

Su Wan gripped the anesthetic in her hand tightly, aimed at the person in front, and with a whoosh, a syringe flew out and pierced the person's arm.

The man at the front didn't expect her to have something in her hand. He was stabbed and quickly fell off his horse.

"Watch out, she's carrying a hidden weapon!"

Su Wan quickly rode her donkey forward, with the men in black chasing closely behind. She took the opportunity to throw out another syringe, but it was blocked by their swords.

It's obvious that these people are much more skilled in martial arts; she couldn't possibly handle them alone.

He had no choice but to run and shout loudly, hoping to attract more people.

Although this place is desolate and remote, it is close to villages, so it is not necessarily uninhabited.

When the men in black saw her shout, they chased after her while drawing a bow and arrow and aiming it at Su Wan's back.

Su Wan's pupils contracted sharply. Just as she realized the danger, a sword shot towards her from a bow.

Her mind went blank for a moment, and the little donkey seemed to sense the danger as well, and it brayed loudly.

The scream brought her back to her senses, and she immediately grabbed a frying pan from the apartment and held it to her chest.

With a bang, the arrow was blocked by the frying pan.

The men in black saw it clearly. When Su Wan suddenly produced something out of thin air, their expressions changed drastically, and they looked at Su Wan in shock.

"Brother, is that woman a human or a ghost?"

"It could also be a monster."

Su Wan: "..."

Why can't we be gods?

The men in black also stopped chasing her, but still followed closely behind.

Su Wan, who had been looking nervous, suddenly stopped when she heard what they were saying.

She feigned a profound air: "I am an immortal who came to the mortal realm to undergo tribulation. Unfortunately, I encountered such a mortal feud. As an immortal, I must not commit such a blood feud. If you continue to press me, I will have no choice but to send you to the King of Hell. Then I will have a good talk with the King of Hell."

"Boss, this guy is really a celestial being."

"That's true. Look how good-looking this person is, even more beautiful than those concubines in the palace. They might really be an immortal."

"Then let's just forget about it. Our mission is to kill the deposed crown prince."

"What if he's not an immortal?"

Su Wan then took out a high-powered laser pointer from the apartment.

She and her friend bought this thing together for orienteering and rescue purposes during outdoor trips.

This will come in handy if you get lost.

I never thought it could be used to pretend to be a master at this time.

With a gentle press of her hand, an extremely bright green light shot into the sky, soaring straight into the clouds and visible from several kilometers away.

The beam of light was so dazzling that even people from neighboring counties looked up at the sky.

"What...what...what is this?"

"A strange phenomenon from the sky must mean something big is about to happen..."

"What big event could it be?"

"Who knows?"

Wei Jingzhuo, who was traveling in the distance, was resting with his eyes closed when he suddenly heard Cui Mama shout in surprise.

"Master, a strange phenomenon has appeared in the sky!"

He suddenly opened his eyes, pushed open the car window and looked out, only to see that extremely bright beam of light coming from not far away.

His previously indifferent expression turned to shock, and when he saw the location from which the light emanated, he immediately jumped off the carriage.

Despite the pain in his feet, he led the horse over, leaped onto it, picked up a longbow, and rode away.

The man in black, who was standing there in a daze, looked terrified.

"This is truly an immortal; only an immortal could possess such abilities."

Some people were initially skeptical, but now their gazes towards Su Wan changed, filled with a mix of emotions including shock, apprehension, and longing.

Someone suddenly knelt down.

"Immortals above, we mortals have offended you in many ways, and we hope you will forgive us."

Some people rolled their eyes and knelt down as well.

“Immortal, I was just passing by and it is fate that I have met you. I wish to serve you in the future, and I hope you will accept me.”

"Immortal, could you please give me an elixir of immortality? Everyone says that immortals are kind-hearted. My mother is seriously ill, and I hope that you will grant me the medicine so that I can fulfill my filial duty."

"And then there is this old man. I have failed my mother. I have never married and have no children. I beg the immortal to give me an elixir. I do not ask for immortality, but only that I may give birth to a son or daughter. Then I will die without regret."
