Chapter 185: Flexibility

Chapter 185: Flexibility

In the face of wealth, power and influence, wild foxes are easily intimidated and feel that they are naturally shorter and inferior to others.

But even a noble fox is still a fox, needing to eat, drink, defecate, and urinate. Breaking away from the superstition of wealth and power, what are the essential differences between foxes?

This is why Dr. Huang is optimistic about Gong Mengbi. He doesn't seem to doubt himself.

Don’t feel inferior to others just because of your low status and low ability, and don’t think you are wrong just because you are in a weak position.

This is setting one’s mind, which is very important for spiritual practice.

Seeing that the time was almost up, Dr. Huang took Gong Mengbi to Wenxing Tower, where the fox fairies gathered.

In the past, most of the gatherings were poetry gatherings, literary gatherings, and Dharma gatherings, but now it is Gong Mengbi’s experience exchange and sharing meeting, named Mingfu Calligraphy Meeting.

Because all the participants were fox immortals, some had received the immortal titles of Fox Lord or Fox Association, and some had not, but they could all be regarded as colleagues of Gong Mengbi, so it could not be considered as teaching, but only as communication.

Taking this issue into consideration, Tianhu Academy gave Gong Mengbi an assistant teaching position, and let him be the main person to explain Mingfuhushu.

Dr. Huang led Gong Mengbi to Wenxing Tower. The fox fairy who had been peeking out from the doorway withdrew his gaze and said, "Gong Mingfu is here!"

The originally cheerful atmosphere in Wenxing Tower suddenly stagnated and became turbulent.

Gong Mengbi entered Wenxing Tower, and all the fox fairies looked at him, with scrutiny and inquiry, as well as ill intentions and contempt.

They are all fox spirits, and such a gaze can be considered a mental attack.

One by one, the fox fairies revealed their aura. They were from wealthy families and their cultivation was mostly secret. At this moment, they activated their magic power and revealed their aura, which immediately distinguished them from the wild foxes in the seat. Their aura was pure and refined.

But Gong Mengbi was not moved by their gazes. He met their gazes, smiled softly, and said with a bow, "My name is Gong Mingfu, and I am honored to meet you, my colleagues."

His red cloak was extremely aggressive, and because of his startling appearance, his gaze was so overwhelming that it made people suffocate slightly.

Most fox fairies transform into handsome men and beautiful women, but when it comes to Gong Mengbi, it can only be said that he is favored by fate and is blessed with unique talents.

Among foxes, appearance is more than just a beautiful skin; it is more like destiny. A face like this is a sign of an extraordinary destiny.

Gong Mengbi's Taoism is profound, and his aura is clear and bright, like the bright moon hanging high in the sky. The fox fairies among them have magical powers comparable to his, but none of them have such an immortal appearance as him.

All the fox fairies immediately started to wonder, "Is this a wild fox?"

"I'm from a wild fox family, so why?"

But Gong Mengbi didn't have the same awareness as the wild fox. He was secretly given a warning upon entering the room, so he immediately responded with a vengeance. He used the Moon Chasing Technique to his full potential, with the Heart Fire Technique hidden within it. The Heaven-Connecting Technique even allowed him to communicate with heaven and earth through his own body, like a god or a witch, inspiring awe in people.

This magic was only working on himself and was not released to others, which made him appear extremely powerful at that moment, even suppressing the fox fairies in the building.

Dr. Huang had already left the scene and was sitting opposite several other fox spirits on the small building next to Wenxing Tower. Seeing this, he laughed and said, "A battle of magic has begun."

One of the fox spirits said, "As expected of you, you are the top student. It is truly rare for such a talent to emerge among our wild foxes."

Another fox fairy said, "But he is in the building. I'm afraid the other wild foxes won't be able to give him much support. I'm afraid he will be troubled."

Dr. Huang said, "Don't worry. I know what I'm teaching my apprentices."

Gong Mengbi greeted them and then, using his assistant's authority, got straight to the point. "According to the decree of the Goddess of Mount Tai, the Heavenly Fox Academy governs all matters concerning foxes. The head of the academy, the Jade Fairy Goddess, cares deeply about the world and cannot bear to see wild foxes straying from their ways, becoming ignorant and unruly, and thus tarnishing the reputation of the fox clan. Therefore, she wishes to establish fox academies throughout the country to recruit wild foxes and educate them, thus demonstrating the Goddess's grace."

"This matter has been approved by the Goddess and sealed by the Chief Priest. I believe you all know this. If you didn't, I wouldn't be here. I'm a man of limited talent and knowledge, and my only achievement, founding the Fox Academy, barely qualifies me for the Goddess's attention. I've compiled the Mingfu Fox Book with the fox immortals of the Academy, and have already sent it to you colleagues for review."

"I have been appointed an assistant instructor by the Heavenly Fox Academy. I have invited you all here today to offer some humble opinions on the development of Fox Academy. If you have any questions about the matters stated in Mingfu Fox's book, you can also take this opportunity to verify each other's opinions and avoid any detours in the future development of Fox Academy."

The fox spirits in Wenxing Tower felt a surge of frustration after hearing Gong Mengbi's words. This was because the things Gong Mengbi was talking about didn't apply to them, but rather to the goddess, the Heavenly Fox Court, and the chief priest. This immediately silenced all the words they had prepared in advance.

There is so much to discuss: can wild foxes be educated? Is it worth educating? How should we educate them? Is the fox academy system good? Is it worth promoting?

But Gong Mengbi didn't bother to argue these points, instead directly citing the goddess's endorsement, which put an end to all this verbal entanglement. Criticizing Gong Mengbi is fine, but criticizing the goddess is not.

The only thing that can be criticized is Mingfu Fox Book, but even Mingfu Fox Book was edited together with the fox fairy of the Wenshu Academy. Once it is criticized, it will offend the fox fairy of the Wenshu Academy.

The fox spirits exchanged glances in Wenxing Tower, and one of them spoke helplessly, asking, "Assistant Instructor Gong, I've read in your fox book that the Fox Court doesn't need to be located in a sacred mountain or a precious place, but it can't be too far away from humans, nor too close to them. This contradicts cultivation. Without a precious place, how can the fox spirits achieve success?"

Gong Mengbi smiled and said, "Why do you need a treasured land for cultivation? A treasured land is certainly good, but it only aids cultivation, not essential. For fox immortals like us, wisdom and opportunity are paramount in our cultivation, and the same is true for teaching our fox children. Staying too far away from humans will lead to a detached temperament, while being too close will lead to a restless temperament. The choice is entirely up to you in your cultivation, so be flexible and adaptable."

The fox fairy shut up.

He didn't want to speak, but when he was pushed forward, he had to ask.

He spoke first, and questions came one after another, trying to find Gong Mengbi's flaws and stump him.

It’s a pity that the entire Mingfu Fox Book was revised by Gong Mengbi himself. Those smart guys in the document library found countless small flaws, all of which were patched by Gong Mengbi. Now if these fox spirits want to find flaws again, they will have no chance.

Gong Mengbi answered each question with a smile. His overall idea was, "For the future of the fox clan and for the grace of the queen, under the premise of the general direction of educating wild foxes and improving customs, please be flexible in your thinking, innovate methods, use various means, combine your own actual situation, act according to local conditions, keep pace with the times, and achieve good results as soon as possible." He did not give these fox fairies any chance to find loopholes.

The fox fairies were racking their brains, they really didn't expect that Gong Mengbi was so aggressive when he entered the room, but now he was so slippery, talking about the goddess in every sentence, showing flexibility in every aspect and never saying anything final.

A "bang" sound interrupted the noise in Wenxing Building.

The fox spirits cast their gazes over, and one, elegantly dressed, tossed the Mingfu Fox Book onto the table. He leaned back in his chair and said, "The Mingfu Fox Book has a preface by the chief priest and its name is inscribed by the goddess, so it's naturally unique."

He smiled, but there was no smile in his eyes, only scrutiny and indifference.

"I saw that Assistant Gong suggested teaching Yehu the nine cultivation techniques. I wonder if Assistant Gong has verified them one by one? Would you mind asking for my advice?"
