Chapter 43: The Cave

Chapter 43: The Cave

With these two big ghosts guarding the door, there is no way Gong Mengbi could sneak in, but fortunately the opportunity is right in front of him.

He went into the mountains and found a quiet place to breathe slowly.

On the other side, Mr. Wang was furious at home.

He went to Xilong Mountain with two servants and a pair of guards, but when he came back, his beloved concubine and servants ran away.

The two men climbed over the wall, changed their clothes and fled, and no one knew where they went.

Mr. Wang was furious and called all the concubines in the house to the front hall and scolded them loudly.

"The master has been very kind to you. You were originally girls from poor families, or perhaps you were living in prostitution, or perhaps you were just lowly women. I bought you and fed you with delicious food and drinks, and provided you with silk and satin. So, what's wrong? Now you're so bold that you dare to run away?"

"ah?"

Master Wang smashed a porcelain vase, and the broken pieces flew everywhere, scaring the five concubines kneeling on the ground into crying.

"Crying? What are you crying for?"

"Do you want to escape too?"

He grabbed a concubine by the hair, dragged her aside, and scolded her, "Do you want to escape too?"

The concubine was so frightened that she burst into tears, crying and begging for mercy: "No, I didn't!"

He pushed the beautiful concubine to the ground and turned around and said, "If you don't want to live anymore, I can satisfy you now."

"Tell me! Do you know where that bitch escaped to?"

He pinched the other woman's chin, lifted her up, and asked, "You have the best relationship with her. Do you know the inside story?"

The woman's eyes were full of fear and she shook her head quickly, but she couldn't break free from his grip and could only whimper.

Master Wang was furious. He said, "Speak or not! Speak or not!"

The woman felt severe pain in her neck, couldn't breathe, and her eyes gradually turned white.

“That’s enough!”

The door to the front hall was kicked open. Standing at the doorway was Wang Laoye's wife, Wang Shi. She looked coldly at Wang Laoye and the concubines trembling with fear on the ground, a trace of fatigue on her face. "What are you doing in the middle of the night?"

Mr. Wang threw the woman to the ground, and she started coughing violently and curled up into a ball.

Mr. Wang's breath was choked, and he said stiffly, "You, why are you here?"

Wang was over forty years old, thin and worried. She sneered, "They've all run away, why are you making such a fuss? If I don't come and check on them, are you going to kill them all?"

As she spoke, Wang started coughing and seemed to be staggering.

Mr. Wang hurried forward to help her up, saying, "I'm sorry for disturbing your rest. You can't stand the wind. Go back quickly."

Wang did not refuse and took him away from the front hall.

After they left, the poor women in the front hall burst into tears, holding their heads in their hands, as if they had survived a disaster.

But she didn't dare cry out loud, she just gritted her teeth and sobbed, shocked and frightened.

Mr. Wang sent Wang back to the backyard before returning to the front hall. Looking at the frightened woman in the front hall, he wanted to be angry, but felt bored.

"Get out of here!"

After the five concubines had left the front hall, Master Wang pounded his fist on the table and said angrily, "Run? Do you think you can run away?"

There's really no escaping.

The Yongkang County government office colluded with the Wang family and, under the pretext of arresting thieves because their home had been robbed, they used pictures and images to search for the poor couple everywhere.

After dawn, before noon, the desperate pair were arrested and escorted back to the Wang family.

Mr. Wang was sitting in the courtyard, and the desperate couple was forced to kneel in the yard.

"Run, run!" Master Wang sneered, "I provide you with food and clothing, and this is how you repay me?"

The servant said in hatred, "Bah, you beast, are you worthy of being a human? You practice evil methods and kill people. Sooner or later, you will suffer retribution!"

Master Wang was furious and kicked him, saying, "You bastard! If it weren't for my pity for your good looks, you would have had your limbs broken and your tongue cut off, sent to beg."

"You are where you are today, it's all my good fortune, but you are so good, you're stealing my people!"

Master Wang kicked the boy in the chest repeatedly, causing him to spit out blood.

The woman on the side had her hands and feet tied and her mouth gagged to prevent her from committing suicide. She had already been crying uncontrollably.

Just as Master Wang was about to execute the servant, he heard a servant outside the courtyard announce, "Master, Taoist Master Zhen is here."

Master Wang frowned, rubbed the blood stains on his shoes on the servant, and said, "Lock them up in the woodshed."

He calmed down, put on a smile, and went out to greet Master Zhen.

The sparrows in the courtyard chirped and flew out of the Wang mansion.

In the view of yin and yang.

Gong Mengbi has sneaked in.

Taoist Master Zhen went down the mountain in the morning, leaving only a young Taoist priest and a few servants to look after the Taoist temple.

The old Taoist priest was very alert and brought the Yin and Yang ghosts with him whenever he went out.

Although the statues of Venerable Tianyang and Madam Diyin are still there in the Taoist temple, they are now just clay sculptures and cannot stop Gong Mengbi, the fox who broke into the house.

Gong Mengbi went straight to the quiet room, but it was empty.

He walked around the quiet room and finally his eyes fell on the word "eternal life".

"It's hidden here." Gong Mengbi pointed gently, and finally his eyes fell on the lampstand, "Found it."

He wrapped it with a handkerchief and twisted the lotus lamp base, and the word "Eternal Life" slowly separated, revealing a door.

Gong Mengbi entered the door, went down the passage, and finally reached the cave.

Compared to the Yin-Yang Temple on the ground, this cave was dug out of the mountain and is very large.

Gong Mengbi concealed his figure with the form-hiding technique and walked in.

Then, I saw caves dug out in the cave. The caves were sealed with iron bars, and there was a person imprisoned in each cave.

There were thirty-two young men and women.

These young men and women were naked, sleeping in the cave, their minds already lost.

Gong Mengbi narrowed his eyes and continued forward.

After passing through the cave where the prisoners were kept, a huge platform appeared in the cave.

The altar is carved from mountain rocks and enshrines Venerable Tianyang and Lady Diyin.

The altar was covered with dense spells, like living things, as if they were changing and wriggling at any time.

Beneath the altar, coffins were neatly arranged. Counting carefully, there were ninety-eight in total.

The coffin was also covered with strange runes, one was a corpse-suppressing rune, and the other was a soul-suppressing rune.

Gong Mengbi quietly opened a coffin painted with a talisman to suppress corpses, revealing the rotten male corpse inside.

He then opened a coffin with a soul-calming talisman painted on it, but it was empty.

Gong Mengbi opened a few more coffins, each one was similar.

Suddenly, he took out something different from a coffin with a soul-calming talisman painted on it.

A wisp of evil energy dissipated from the coffin, and then disappeared without a trace.

Gong Mengbi smelled that this was a dissipated soul.
