Chapter 584: Long-haired Dog
Now he has not yet reached the fourth level. Although the Five Mountains Spirit Gods are gradually becoming more agile and can barely be called a pseudo fourth level, there are still some flaws. Now is the time for him to keep a low profile.
In the cold winter, water turns into ice.
Even though it's warm in the south of the Yangtze River, at this time, the snow is knee-deep and water freezes to ice. It's a hard time for people, livestock, and even monsters.
Zhao Siqi, with disheveled hair and a dirty face, walked with difficulty in the snow wearing a straw raincoat. His feet sank into the snow, and when he pulled them out, his exposed toes were already frozen blue.
"Woof woof!"
Following behind Zhao Siqi was a big long-haired dog. Its long hair was stuck together, making it look ugly and weird.
Zhao Siqi said, "Don't follow me. I don't like dogs."
"Woof woof!"
The big, long-haired dog didn't understand what he said. It just heard him talking and went to his feet, squeezed between his legs, and swung its tail from side to side, sweeping the snow into the air.
Snow flew onto Zhao Siqi's face. He took a deep breath, sighed, and gently kicked it, saying, "Go away."
The big, long-haired dog jumped to the side, and the man and the dog continued walking with difficulty in the heavy snow.
Of course, Zhao Siqi didn't want to run around in such a heavy snowstorm. He just came out of his last place and didn't have time to find the next place to stay.
He didn't often stay for long in places where ordinary people lived. Most of the time he would just pass through and wouldn't stay long unless he needed supplies.
He knew that there were two demons tracking him, and he could not stay in any one place for more than seven days, otherwise he would be sensed by the other party and would follow his trail.
He accepted his fate and was afraid of bringing disaster to others, so he didn't want to run to crowded places.
He had encountered this big, long-haired dog in the last deserted village.
There were no living people in the village, only frozen corpses and collapsed houses. No one knew what disaster had befallen them.
The big long-haired dog survived by eating corpses. After meeting Zhao Siqi, he followed him all the way.
Zhao Siqi doesn't like dogs.
He has the spirit of a fox in him and naturally dislikes dogs. Especially since it's a dog that eats corpses, it's hard to say whether some wild or demonic nature has been awakened in him.
But the big, long-haired dog didn't care about that. It looked at him with eager, warm, moist eyes, licked him with its pink tongue, wagged its tail at him, and accompanied him all the way.
So Zhao Siqi couldn't bear to drive it away.
The hillside in the distance was covered with snow, and it seemed that a manor could be seen vaguely.
Zhao Siqi cheered up and said, "There are people here! We can go and ask for a place to stay for the night. If that doesn't work, we can ask for a meal."
The big long-haired dog also became excited and jumped in the snow, not looking tired at all.
Zhao Siqi has already entered the Tao, but he still cannot avoid the cold and his strength is limited, but this long-haired dog is more energetic than him.
A man and a dog were running towards their goal, but they were too eager to reach the top of the mountain. By the time they reached the top, it was already pitch dark and they could only barely see things with the help of a little light from the snow.
In the dim white light, everything is black.
Zhao Siqi was black, the long-haired dog was black, and the outer wall of the manor was also black, but a red light shone from inside.
The lanterns hung high up, casting a red glow on the snow.
When Zhao Siqi arrived at the farm, he saw the words "Bai Mansion" written on the door and a big red wedding character pasted on the lantern, which looked very festive.
Zhao Siqi whispered to the long-haired dog, "We're having a wedding, maybe we can even ask for a glass of wine."
He knocked on the door, and two tall, thin servants opened it. Seeing Zhao Siqi, whose hair was disheveled and his face was dirty, one of them asked, "Who are you?"
Zhao Siqi said, "I was passing by on a snowy day and saw the lights on in your village, so I wanted to come and ask for food."
The servant laughed and said, "What a coincidence! If it were in the past, I'm afraid the master would not agree. But today, the seventeenth lady is getting married, which is a great joyous event. Once I report it, the master will definitely not refuse."
Zhao Siqi waited silently. Not long after, the door opened again and the servant led him in, saying, "Please come this way."
When Zhao Siqi was brought in by the servant, he saw that the beautifully decorated courtyard was filled with tables of banquets. Guests were seated at the tables, waiting for the meal to begin.
Zhao Siqi was seated at a table at the back, surrounded by four men in brown clothes with prominent cheekbones and sunken cheeks.
When Zhao Siqi sat down, the four people looked at him and asked, "How did you get here?"
Zhao Siqi said, "I'm just passing by and want to eat."
The straw raincoat and bamboo hat had been taken off and hung on the wall. Zhao Siqi's face was weathered, but his outstanding features could still be vaguely seen. He looked at the four men and asked, "Are you relatives of the owner of this house?"
The four men sighed and said, "How can we be considered relatives? We are just servants."
Zhao Siqi suddenly felt warm under his feet. He looked down and saw a long-haired dog lying at his feet, quietly looking at him with wet eyes.
Zhao Siqi reached out and rubbed the dog's face. He said, "What a coincidence! The doorman said that if it weren't for the wedding of Seventeenth Miss, I wouldn't have been able to get in."
One of the men said, "You shouldn't have come in."
Another said: "It's not a good thing either."
Another one looked at him and said, "Whatever you hear or see, don't say anything."
The last one said, "Leave after you finish eating. Don't stay until dawn."
Zhao Siqi's heart sank, and he looked around quietly. He saw that the guests around him all had pointed mouths and shrunken cheeks, and looked very similar to the four people beside him.
He whispered, "Thanks for the advice."
One of the men said, "You are a very brave kid, daring to come here alone. Just stay still."
As he was speaking, an old man with white hair and beard came into the yard with a cane, wiping his tears as he walked.
Immediately afterwards, two servants came out carrying a mountain of meat.
This mountain of flesh was wearing a red wedding gown, a phoenix coronet and a bridal robe, and she was putting it on with difficulty. The phoenix coronet carved from gold and jade stood on top of her head like a small wine glass placed on a large tray.
The wedding dress squeezed her waist and abdomen, dividing her into two pieces of steamed buns.
This mountain of flesh is so fat, but there is still some charm on his face, but it is sunken in the flesh, which makes him look a bit funny and weird.
Zhao Siqi's heart was pounding as he watched, and he even felt a sense of fear and dread.
But the four men sobbed softly, saying, "Poor Seventeenth Girl."
Zhao Siqi asked, "Is this Miss Seventeen? Isn't getting married a happy occasion?"
The four men only sobbed and whimpered, revealing expressions of fear. They shook their heads repeatedly, not daring to say anything more. The guests in the courtyard also showed similar reactions, sobbing softly.
The old man trembled his beard and said, "Today is the day when Little Seventeen is getting married. It's a great joy! Don't cry! Play music for me! Play music!"
