Chapter 730: Spreading the Dharma and Establishing Faith
Everyone couldn't help but ponder.
If someone said something uncouth, Yehu might sneer at it.
People go to high places, and water flows to low places. In such a big world, how many successful people are willing to live in a small place?
When carp leaps over the Dragon Gate, they hit their heads and bleed. Thousands of them die before the Dragon Gate, but not a single one of them turns back.
What's more, after returning to the wilderness, he did not act tyrannically, but instead reclaimed the barren land.
But since it was Gong Mengbi who said this, they had to think carefully about his intentions.
There was also a frank and straightforward fox who raised his hand and asked, "Master, do you mean for us to return to the wilderness and abandon the prosperous land?"
The fox beside her was startled and looked up at her with a hint of admiration in his eyes.
Gong Mengbi looked over and laughed, "Gan Rou, why is it you?"
Gan Rou's face flushed red as she said, "I just noticed everyone has such doubts."
Gong Mengbi knew that they had such doubts and suspected that this was a mandatory order rather than a so-called "opportunity."
"I've already said, if you have other ambitions, follow your own first."
"But with the precedents of your brothers and sisters, a prosperous place doesn't necessarily mean a good place to live. The more prosperous a place is, the more popular it is, the more people think of it, and the more prosperous the gods are. You need to be able to endure the trials and tribulations of the world, withstand the scrutiny of ghosts and gods, and maintain a state of seclusion in the city. Only then can you maintain your cultivation in a prosperous place. Otherwise, you will be tempted by the world and suffer the hardships of the mundane world, and I'm afraid you won't live any longer than ordinary people."
"But in the wilderness, where people are few and their thoughts are dim, the spirit world flourishes. With your abilities, being able to divine, dispel disasters, cure illnesses and exorcise spirits, you've already accomplished something. It's certainly not easy to spread the faith of the Empress, but once you achieve something, the incense and good deeds will all be yours. Even if your cultivation struggles to make progress, having this kind of merit will be enough to allow you to switch to spirit cultivation, or even be reborn in a good life."
Gong Mengbi said, "Your Majesty's grace is like the light of the sun and moon, and the kindness of rain and dew. I ask nothing for anything. I summoned you here not to force you to do this. Spreading the Dharma and establishing faith is by no means an easy task."
"But if we can't go into the wilderness, others will. We allow evil spirits to claim to be gods and fool people into killing. Why not accept the grace of the goddess and seek good results with good karma?"
The foxes fell into deep thought, perhaps realizing something.
Gong Mengbi concluded, saying, "This is the third reason I summoned you here. To encourage you to return to the countryside, spread the Dharma and establish faith, and drive out evil spirits and demons from places where no one is willing to go."
Then, Gong Mengbi called out, "Daqiu, Erqiu, Sanqiu, come forward."
Daqiu led Erqiu and Sanqiu out from the corner and walked towards the moonlight.
At this time, all the foxes focused their eyes on the three of them, ignoring the leading Daqiu and focusing their eyes on the second and third qiu.
Erqiu and Sanqiu were so frightened that their legs trembled, revealing their true form as weasels, hiding their long and thin bodies behind Daqiu.
Da Qiu stood in front of them and looked at Gong Mengbi with a pleading look.
Gong Mengbi patted his shoulder. Erqiu and Sanqiu stood on both sides. The magical thing was that under Gong Mengbi's gaze, their nervousness slowly disappeared. There was an invisible thing supporting them, allowing them to stand safely under so many gazes.
Gong Mengbi said, "These are Erqiu and Sanqiu, the first batch of non-fox students in Fox Academy."
"What do you mean?" Fox understood.
"Will there be more 'foxes' who are not foxes in the future?"
"Why?"
Gong Mengbi said: "This is the opportunity that arose after the destruction of Wutong."
"Firstly, they are like us wild foxes, wild monsters with no control or education. They roam freely in the wilderness, living and dying by day or transforming into evil spirits."
"Since wild foxes can be educated, why can't they be educated?"
"But everyone can rest assured. Fox Sons' Court is under the jurisdiction of Heavenly Fox Court. If you are not a fox, you must first pay your respects to the Queen Mother of Mount Tai and then be under the supervision of the Yue Mansion. You will then have to pay all expenses, including tuition and Taoist teachings, and you cannot be recommended to enter Heavenly Fox Court, so as not to take up the opportunity of Fox Sons."
"Secondly, it's what I just told you. In the wilderness, in the wilds, where righteous gods are hard to reach and ghosts linger, more people are needed to obey the goddess' grace, spread the Dharma and establish faith, so as to calm the people's hearts and eliminate evil spirits. We allow them to join the Fox Court because after they are trained, they must uphold the orders of the Yue Mansion and do good deeds and accumulate virtue in the wilderness."
Gong Mengbi looked at the foxes, and with a hint of warning in his tone, he said, "I would like to take this opportunity to inform everyone of this matter."
"You can think about this carefully after you return. If you wish to return to Caoye and require the help and guidance of Fox Court, please feel free to ask or write to us at any time. While Fox Court cannot help you develop the wild lands of Caoye, it can provide you with some necessary advice."
"There are some very outstanding brothers and sisters among you who are already doing the work of the gods and witches, and working to spread the Dharma and establish faith. You can also ask them for advice."
Having said that, there is no need to waste any more words or exhortations, they will always figure it out on their own.
There are some weird things in the fox's nature. If it gives too much, it will not be very attractive. But once there is a competition, it will not fall behind at all costs.
Gong Mengbi smiled and said, "Let's talk about something lighthearted. I called you all here from far away. If I don't let you gain something, I'm afraid you will go back and secretly curse me in the middle of the night."
"There are quite a few strange and peculiar things in my dojo. Those of you who came early must have already discovered quite a few. Many of them are reflections of my Taoist magic. Whether you can sense anything from them depends entirely on your own understanding. I can't teach you."
"But there are some things I can teach you, and look up."
The foxes looked up and saw a bright moon hanging high in the sky.
It is like a mirror in the sky, illuminating the whole world.
In that bright mirror, it seemed as if there was a god walking vaguely.
The mirror slowly turned, revealing an extraordinary aura. This aura kept changing, and the gods and men in the bright moon also kept changing.
The aura changed twelve times in succession, and the gods in the moon also changed twelve times in succession.
The fox was dazzled. The bright moon seemed to be the moon of today, and the moon of ancient times. It seemed to be the real moon, and the moon in his dreams.
Gong Mengbi's voice sounded slowly in their ears, like a gust of wind or a wisp of fog blowing under the moon, cold and hazy.
"There are twelve months in a year, and each month has twelve gods."
"I have taught you the method of offering sacrifices to the moon. Today, I will also teach you the method of offering sacrifices to the twelve moon gods."
