Chapter 738 Old Bodhisattva

Chapter 738 Old Bodhisattva

Sun Wenyuan didn't get any useful information, so he had to find another way and start from the family close to the sorcerer.

Weddings and funerals are about setting auspicious times and dates, but Sun Wenyuan was excluded from this.

Then curing diseases and exorcising evil spirits is when one’s true abilities are demonstrated.

Sun Wenyuan went to the river early in the morning and hid in the hollow belly of a big willow tree, waiting for dawn. Then the laundry women, old and young, came to the river one after another to wash clothes.

From a distance, you can hear greetings between acquaintances, followed by casual chats about family matters, which soon turn to topics such as whose young wife ran away, whose child is sick, whose husband is a coward, and whose elderly person is difficult to take care of. Inevitably, there are some strange stories mixed in.

The sounds of hammering clothes and women's teasing rose and fell, but soon faded away as the sun rose higher.

Sun Wenyuan stayed in the hollow belly of the big willow tree for five or six days. Finding that there was nothing new, he crawled out and went to look for the owner of the strange stories.

Some of these people are still alive, and some are no longer here.

The first person Sun Wenyuan visited was a little kid playing in the mud. He was about seven or eight years old. He was poking the mud under the persimmon tree in front of the door with a stick. His snot was running down his mouth and he didn't even bother to wipe it.

Sun Wenyuan watched quietly for a while. The child seemed to sense something and looked at him, grinning at him, and his snot went into his mouth.

Sun Wenyuan's eyelids twitched and he turned and left.

This child's intelligence was high, but his mind was damaged. As for the reason for the damage, Sun Wenyuan had no way of judging, as he was not yet at such a high level of cultivation.

According to word of mouth among outsiders, he was possessed by an evil spirit and was saved by a sorcerer who exorcised the evil spirit.

Sun Wenyuan investigated several more companies, but in the end he gained very little.

There is no way around this. If one wants to trace back to the origins of things that happened in the past, one must either have enough vision to see the traces left by the magic, or have enough Taoist power to deduce the reasons for the development of things.

Sun Wenyuan possessed neither of these qualities, so it was too difficult to judge based on a person's condition. The only thing he knew was that they held the Shenhan family in high esteem.

For example, the family of the mentally impaired child believed that if it weren't for the shaman's exorcism, the child would be beyond saving. Obviously, staying alive is more important than being less intelligent.

From this perspective, it seems that they are a group of witches and sorcerers with real magical powers, and not "those who kill for money" as the old scholar believes.

But Sun Wenyuan knew that the old scholar was right. Although he had never dealt with this sorcerer, he had seen them dumping corpses into a ravine.

Although the situation has changed, Sun Wenyuan has learned some things from Fox Academy, but the fear and dread in his heart when he encountered him that year are still fresh in his mind.

After calming himself down, Sun Wenyuan decided to give it a try.

I still went to the boy's home because his mind was damaged and he lacked resistance, making him most susceptible to magic.

When it was dark, the boy was about to close the door, but Sun Wenyuan waved at him and said, "Come."

The child grinned and followed Sun Wenyuan out.

Suddenly the child was missing, and the family immediately went out to look for him everywhere.

"Dog!"

"I saw the dog go that way and wanted to bark at it, but when I turned around it was gone."

A villager who came home late pointed the way, and Gou Zi's parents immediately went there to look for him. The villagers who were alarmed also helped to look for him.

Finally, we found the dog by the river, sitting on the shore, motionless.

"Dog!"

The dog's mother shouted, and then the dog turned back stiffly, gave a weird smile, and then fell backwards to the ground.

The stiff and weird smile scared Gouzi's parents, and the villagers who came to help were also shocked.

"Is he possessed?"

"Let's ask the old Bodhisattva to take a look."

The shaman's family worships the Bodhisattva, but no one knows the name or surname of the Bodhisattva. When people talk about it, they just know it as "Bodhisattva" and add the word "old" to show respect.

Gou Zi's father carried Gou Zi back home, and Gou Zi's mother went to ask the old man of the shaman's family for help with tears.

The old man is the oldest sorcerer in the family. Most of his teeth have fallen out and he has a lisp when he speaks, but he is in good health.

Normally, it was his eldest brother who went out to do things, so he rarely came out. He would only personally take action when the eldest brother couldn't solve the problem.

The dog's mother cried, "Daddy, you can't just ignore it. You saved my dog, and now it's been possessed by evil spirits again. You can't just ignore it!"

The old man had already lain down. He was helped out by his youngest son. He coughed and said, "I'll go and take a look."

The eldest and second sons packed up their belongings, and the youngest son put the indigo Taoist robe on the old man, barely adjusted the lotus crown on his sparse head, and supported the old man to Gou Zi's house.

There were quite a few people inside and outside Gou Zi's house, most of them were there to watch the fun, and there were also a few relatives helping out.

As soon as the old man came over, the crowd made way and shouted, "Here he comes, here he comes, the old Bodhisattva is here."

When the old man entered the house, he saw that the dog had woken up and was sitting on the bed without crying or making a fuss, laughing or talking. His dark eyes were staring at him, which made people feel creepy.

The old man frowned, knowing that he had encountered the real thing.

Genuine goods and fakes are not the same thing. If you encounter genuine goods, you will get into big trouble if you are not careful. He was like facing a great enemy and winked at his three sons, who immediately started to clear the place.

Everyone in the room was pushed out, and Gouzi's parents wanted to stay but were stopped.

"This evil spirit is hard to deal with. The old Bodhisattva cannot be disturbed. You just wait outside."

After keeping everyone outside, when I turned around, I saw that the old man had already spread out the cloth bag, and his three sons brought a table to make a simple altar.

The old man offered incense and said, "Great Immortal, Bodhisattva, this child is ignorant and may have offended you. Please be magnanimous and I will ask their family to apologize."

The incense was lit, but there was no response.

The old man added, "If you have any requests, just ask, and I will make sure they are met."

Still no response.

The old man glanced at his eldest son and said, "Please, old Bodhisattva, mediate and make peace."

The eldest son respectfully took out a statue of Bodhisattva from his backpack and placed it on the altar.

The old man bowed and said, "Old Bodhisattva, please help us to make peace."

The statue of the old Bodhisattva seemed to be smiling. The three sons did not see it, but the old father saw it. A black shadow jumped out from the Bodhisattva statue and pounced on the dog.

The next moment, a puff of white smoke emerged from the dog's body, and someone in the wind cursed: "What old Bodhisattva? It turns out to be an old ghost!"

The sound was so loud that even the old man, who was hard of hearing, could hear it clearly and his face changed immediately.

"Old Bodhisattva, don't let him run away!"
