Chapter 829: I have merits!

Chapter 829: I have merits!

The eyes of the Five Red Dog were scarlet, its roar was as fierce as thunder, and it was as fast as a flash of lightning. Even if the thing in the darkness ran very fast, it could not get rid of the Five Red Dog.

Finally, when they entered a cemetery, the five red dogs accelerated, ran on all fours, splashed snow, and rushed into the darkness.

A cry of pain was heard in the darkness, and then the five red dogs flew back, fell in the snow but immediately turned over, their tails stiff, their heads lowered, sharp teeth exposed, and they let out a deep roar.

He slowly approached the darkness, circling the thing in the dark, looking for an opportunity, ready to attack at any moment.

There was a long, thin shadow in the darkness, a vaguely human figure, like a shriveled skeleton.

"Get away, you beast!"

The figure stretched out his hand and grabbed a handful of the ground, then suddenly raised it up, and gravel, soil and crushed snow rushed towards the five red dogs like a storm.

The five-red dog was unable to escape and was buried by the earth, rocks and snow. As it struggled, the earth and rocks mixed with the snow formed a hard crust, trapping it inside and turning it into a raised mound.

The figure turned and went into the cemetery, disappearing in an instant.

Zhao Siqi lost track of the evil spirit and the Five Red Dog as he chased them closer. The footprints of the Five Red Dog were also covered by the wind and snow. He continued forward relying on his memory and vague senses. After searching the area nearby, he finally found the place in the cemetery.

The graves were connected to each other, and dead bushes, thorns, and vines stuck to each other, creating many obstacles in the surrounding pine forest.

Zhao Siqi shouted, "Xiaohong!"

“Woo woo!”

The whimpering sound coming from the throat was so subtle in the wind and snow that it was even difficult to distinguish whether it was the sound of the wind or a barking sound, but Zhao Siqi was already familiar with the breathing of the Five Red Dog and knew it was it as soon as he heard it.

He followed the sound and found that it came from a grave covered by snow.

Zhao Siqi pulled out a bamboo stick from behind his back, bit his finger, and wiped it across his head: "Pure Yang True Fire, exterminate evil and destroy evil spirits!"

The bamboo stick pierced into the grave mound, and the grave mound, which was as hard as bricks and stones, instantly lost its support and collapsed downwards. The five red dogs struggled and squirmed in the mud and sand.

Zhao Siqi dug through the mud and sand, touched a dog's leg, and dug out the five red dogs in the same direction.

The five-red dog shook its head vigorously, shaking off the mud and sand that covered its mouth and nose, and gasped for breath.

If Zhao Siqi had come a little later, it would have been suffocated to death.

Wuhong Dog panted and whimpered at Zhao Siqi in grievance.

Zhao Siqi patted its head and said, "Don't feel wronged yet. Can you find the evil spirit?"

When Wu Hong Dog recovered, he began to sniff hard in the wind. The wind and snow were so strong that they scattered many scents and made it difficult to distinguish.

Zhao Siqi and the five-red dog were searching together in the cemetery surrounded by pine trees. Finally, under a crooked old pine tree, the five-red dog smelled some human scent and began to bark.

Zhao Siqi rushed over immediately and saw that the old pine tree was growing diagonally with its branches drooping, forming a semi-arched shape. Snow was piled on the pine branches and needles, like a cloud cover. It did not look like a dark place where evil spirits were hiding, but more like a cave of immortals.

Zhao Siqi frowned slightly and looked at the five red dogs. The five red dogs were staring at him, waiting for his orders.

Zhao Siqi exhaled, his expression firm, and said, "Let's go!"

He and the five red dogs passed through the arched gate of the old pine tree and squeezed into a cold and damp corridor. As they walked along the corridor, the view in front of them opened up, revealing a huge rock cave.

The stone is dotted with pearls, sparkling with a hint of charm under the dim light.

There was a lamp holder embedded in the stone wall, with a perpetual lamp on it, but the light was dim and weak, as if the oil had run out.

The corridor was cold and damp, but the stone cave was very dry, with a slight stale woody smell and a faint aroma of incense.

Zhao Siqi saw footprints.

The wet footprints left traces of stumbling in the dry stone blood, extending all the way to the stone gate. On the doorpost was engraved the couplet "Good conduct and virtue will last for thousands of years, and high moral integrity and bright spirit will last forever", and hung a horizontal banner with the words "Pine and cypress are evergreen".

Zhao Siqi and his five red dogs followed through the wide-open stone gate and saw the dilapidated courtyard. No matter how magnificent its furnishings and structure had once been, the walls were now broken, the grass and trees withered, and a thick layer of dust covered it.

There were some rotten bamboo frames scattered on the ground, and some of them still had faded paper-made skins that could be vaguely seen.

Zhao Siqi carefully followed the footprints into the courtyard and saw the only house with a perpetual lamp on. At the door of the house stood a fallen paper figure, who looked like a maid, with only one of its eyes still moving.

The single eye turned its gaze towards them, seemingly alert, but unable to sound any alarm. Her limbs had decayed, and she no longer possessed the spirituality that was even remotely human.

In the room with the dim lamp that burned forever, there was an eight-immortal table. The child who was abducted was lying quietly on the table and sleeping soundly. A black figure stood behind the table, sucking the child's energy.

Smoke-like essence escaped from the child's mouth and nose, which was greedily devoured by the evil spirit, and a dim bloodshot light appeared in his eyes.

"superior!"

The five red dogs barked wildly and pounced forward.

Zhao Siqi smeared the bamboo with blood, used the bamboo as a sword, and ignited a red flame on the bamboo sword, stabbing at the evil spirit.

The thunder-like barking of the dog startled the evil spirit so much that it trembled all over and stopped its evil method of sucking essence. Then the five red dogs bit the evil spirit's leg and tore it apart with force.

Zhao Siqi's bamboo sword arrived soon after, and the pure yang fire illuminated the evil face. It was a strange face, alienated like a jackal, with greed and cunning.

Zhao Siqi stabbed him in the chest with a sword, and the evil spirit flew out and hit the antique shelf, making a crisp sound.

Pure Yang fire ignited in his chest, but he extinguished it by rolling on the ground.

The five-red dog pounced again, and the evil spirit used the same trick again. It grabbed the ground with its extremely long claws, and the mud and stones rolled, and pounced towards the five-red dog.
