Chapter 24: Appreciating the Ships: Are We the Island Owners? ...

"I'm fine." Bai Xi looked up, turned around and wiped his face with his sleeve.

Then he quickly walked to the window and opened the cabin window.

"Second sister." Bai Miao quickly followed, hugged her legs and looked up.

"Well, Miaomiao, do you want to look outside?" Bai Xi picked her up and let her lie on the window to look out. "This is our window. From now on, we can stand in the cabin and look outside. It's beautiful, isn't it?"

"Wow," Bai Miao immediately forgot everything else and looked out the window, "It's so beautiful."

"Second sister thinks it's beautiful too. When we have nothing to do in the future, we can stand here and look outside." Bai Xi's chin gently rested on Bai Miao's head. "You can also sleep here if you feel sleepy during the day."

"Great." Bai Miao said happily, supporting himself on the window frame with both hands and trying to climb up.

Bai Xi was stunned and almost let go. Fortunately, Bai Yu was watching the two of them and hugged Bai Miao when she climbed up.

Bai Yu patted Bai Miao on the back: "Don't climb through the window."

"Oh," Bai Miao nodded slowly, staying steady in Bai Yu's arms. After a moment, he became happy again, stretching out his little hand and pointing forward, "Big sister, look, the sun, such a big sun."

The three of them looked in the direction Bai Miao pointed.

The sun today is no different from usual, but for some reason, at first glance, it seems more beautiful than usual.

I also let them watch from the window for a long time.

It was not until the sunlight grew brighter and their eyes could no longer bear it that they looked away.

Bai Miao was held by Bai Yu and looked into the room. He opened his arms and exclaimed, "Sister, I can't see."

Bai Yu's eyes were actually a little hard of seeing, but she knew what was going on, and immediately raised her hands to cover Bai Miao's eyes: "It's okay, close your eyes and wait for a while."

Not only Bai Miao, she also closed her eyes for a while, until her eyes adjusted, and then opened them.

The hand covering Bai Miao opened slightly at this time: "Now open your eyes and try."

"Can you see it?!" Bai Miao expressed surprise and confusion.

"So you can't keep staring at the sun from now on," Bai Yu waited for a while, and only put down his hand after Bai Miao could see it completely, "otherwise you might not be able to see it anymore."

Bai Miao nodded repeatedly.

Bai Yu felt relieved, after all, Bai Miao was not the only one who acted stupidly today.

"There's another floor underneath this ship, and the passage leading down should be on the other side." Bai Yu pulled Bai Miao out of the mattress and helped her put on her shoes. "The floor underneath should be able to store things."

"Then we'll have somewhere to store our things in the future." Bai Xi quickly put on his shoes, walked out of the cabin to the other side, and quickly found the entrance to the next floor. He pulled open the lid to the entrance, "Come on, there's a lot of space down there."

She put the lid aside, turned around and stepped onto the wooden stairs.

Bai Yu brought Bai Miao with him and put Bai Miao on the ladder first, letting Bai Xi carry him down, and then Bai Yu went down.

The cabin below was just an ordinary empty room with nothing in it, but even so, it still made people inexplicably excited.

"I've always heard that some people on the shore have cellars, but I never knew what they looked like. Now that I think about it, it's probably similar to this cabin," Bai Xi walked around the cabin. "It's such a big place, it can hold a lot of things."

"But we may not have that many things." Bai Yu said with a smile.

Originally their boat was so small that it couldn't hold too many things, so they kept as little stuff on board as possible. After arriving on the island, they had much more stuff than when they were on the water, but even so, even if all those things were moved into the cabin, they would probably only occupy a small corner.

"Then we'll slowly save up," Bai Xi also smiled, "It would be a shame not to store things in such a big place."

The ordinary small boat turned into a double-decker boat. Even the not very sensible Bai Miao was very excited, and Bai Yu and Bai Xi were even more so. After the three of them looked at the cabin below, they began to look around at the entire ship.

The overall changes are not just about making the boat bigger, but also about the sails and oars.

Every part of the ship is also very new.

If this happened on inland waters, they would not be able to hide such a big change no matter what. However, now they are on an island in the sea. There are no people living there for a long time, not even a passing ship. Only they can see such a change in the ship.

Bai Xi stood in front of the newly appeared rudder, with both hands on the rudder.

"Want to go on the water?" Bai Yu walked to her side.

"A little bit, but this ocean is too big," Bai Xi opened his arms. "Once you go out into such a vast ocean, it won't be easy to come back. I don't dare to go."

"It's fine as long as we don't go too far," Bai Yu said, looking at the sea. "We have always lived on the water and cannot be afraid of it. Even if this is the sea, it is still water. But before that, we need to move the boat."

Bai Xi looked at her in confusion.

Bai Yu pointed at the boat under her feet and said, "We were able to push the small boat forward, but this big boat is too big for us to push. If we want to be able to launch it at any time, we need to find a place on the island where the boat can approach and be in the water."

This island was completely uninhabited before they came, so naturally there was no pier for ships to dock.

"It seems that we can't go into the water until we come up with a solution. Otherwise, if we go in when the water is rising, and the water recedes when we come back, the boat won't be able to return to its current position." Bai Xi sighed.

After all, it took a lot of effort to pull the boat to this position in the first place. Now the boat has become a double-decker boat. Unless the water rises, they really can't pull it.

If the boat is further away, the rope will be tied too far away from the boat and it may be impossible to secure the boat.

"We've been to the magical plane today, let's walk around the island and see if we can find a suitable place to dock."

"Okay... Bai Miao, don't climb the railings." Bai Xi shouted.

Bai Miao silently put down his raised foot.

"Look at what's down there," Bai Yu walked over, picked her up and placed her on the railing, letting her see the height below. "Do you know what would happen if you fell down?"

Bai Miao took a look and immediately turned around and hugged Bai Yu's neck.

"Do you still dare?" Bai Yu asked her.

"I don't dare anymore, sister." Bai Miao lowered his head.

"Bai Miao, you're becoming more and more disobedient," Bai Xi reached out and poked Bai Miao's forehead. "You're climbing up the window and the railing. What if you fall down? Didn't I teach you not to stay by the boat alone?"

Bai Miao's eyes widened, and tears instantly filled his eyes.

Bai Xi took a deep breath and continued to speak with a stern face: "No more crawling in the future, okay?"

Bai Miao agreed softly: "I understand."

Bai Xi still had a stern face: "Don't cry."

Bai Miao sobbed for a moment, raised her hand and wiped her eyes with her sleeve, but as soon as she wiped them clean, tears welled up in her eyes again and she couldn't wipe them away no matter how many times she tried.

Bai Yu held her and rocked her, patted her back and turned her around. He put his hand on her head and placed it on his shoulder. He looked at Bai Xi and shook his head slightly.

Bai Xi's stern face finally couldn't hold back any longer. He wiped his eyes which were inexplicably filled with tears, and then smiled silently at Bai Yu.

Bai Yu tilted her head, felt Bai Miao's situation, and whispered softly, "She should remember it."

"It's too dangerous. The boat is so high now. It would be terrible if she fell off," Bai Xi sighed softly. "Before, when we were still on the water, she would stay in the cabin obediently even if we both went into the water."

Having said that, Bai Xi went to get a handkerchief, wet it with water, walked behind Bai Yu, lifted Bai Miao's head and helped wipe her tears and snot.

"Second sister is not scolding you, I am afraid that if you climb up and fall down, it will be very painful, do you understand?" Bai Xi said softly, "Second sister is afraid that Miaomiao will get hurt."

"Miaomiao doesn't dare anymore." Bai Miao closed his eyes and let her wipe her face.

"If Miaomiao wants to see what's underneath, go find your eldest and second sisters. We'll hold you and show you. You can't crawl by yourself, okay?" Bai Xi spoke to her.

Bai Miao nodded obediently: "I know."

"So good," Bai Xi patted her head, "Okay, it's okay, let's go upstairs and cook."

Bai Yu turned around and saw that Bai Miao's mood had stabilized, so he carried her to the place where they could get off the boat.

"I'll go down first. You hold Miaomiao from above, and I'll catch her from below." Bai Yu said.

Bai Miao is still young and has never walked on a ladder before. She is not very good at walking, so she needs someone to help her go up and down, otherwise both of them are worried that she will fall.

Bai Xi immediately warned Bai Miao: "From now on, you are not allowed to go down the ladder when you are alone, do you understand?"

"I know." Bai Miao recovered and nodded seriously.

The three of them walked to the place where they disembarked. Bai Yu put Bai Miao down and got off the boat first. Then Bai Xi pulled Bai Miao from above and turned her around, letting her face the boat and walk down step by step.

Halfway through the walk, Bai Yu caught her and carried her down the ladder.

Bai Xi also turned around and walked down.

After getting down, she found that Bai Yu was also lying on the ground with his arms open facing her.

"I can do it alone." Bai Xi said with a smile.

"It's always better to be careful. You're not that big," Bai Yu smiled and rubbed her head. "It's late today. Let's just have a simple meal. Otherwise, we might run into Qiqi when we get there. It's better to go early."

"There are still three steamed buns left from yesterday, just enough for one person. I'll cook after I get back from gathering grass, so we won't be hungry for too long."

"Then today, after Qiqi comes home, we will come back early to cook."

The three of them walked up hand in hand.

Bai Xi looked up and saw the small kitchen on the island and the woodshed made by Yuting. He smiled and said, "This place is a bit like our home now. All of this is ours."

"In that case, the whole island belongs to us."

"Then are we considered the island owners?"

"It seems... that's the way it can be calculated."

"How about we give this island a name?"

"What's your name?"

"I haven't thought about it yet. Let me think about it."
