Chapter 818, My Company Commander

Chapter 818, My Company Commander

The battle between Alvin and Natta did not last three hundred rounds.

Long-lasting battles often take place in duels to test one's skills; or when both sides are of similar strength and want to win as much as possible in a one-on-one battle, they adopt cautious strategies...

But right now, this is obviously not the case.

How could Alvin have the time to fight Natta for three hundred rounds? If they were delayed in the middle, the remaining veterans of the regiment, or even those few dreadnought mechas, would have enough firepower to participate in the war and cause enough trouble for Alvin.

Their attack does not need to kill Alvin. As long as their firepower forces Alvin to deal with it, it will create opportunities for Captain Nata.

Alvin's strength was of course outstanding. He assessed himself as the most powerful person in the entire company. This was an assessment he made by observing the performance of other combat brothers in battle.

This is actually true.

Alvin's performance in the Alliance Space Marine Training Base was the best among his peers, and he even received commendation from Gu Hang.

In the entire company, he was the only one who could not make an accurate assessment, Captain Nata. In the rare few times he saw the other side take action, Alvin felt that the strength level shown was still slightly inferior to his own. However, the sample size was too small, so he himself was not sure about the accuracy of the assessment.

But now there is no extra time to think about these things. All that is left is to fight to the death and kill the opponent in the shortest time possible.

In the first wave of confrontation, Thunder Hammer, with absolutely fierce momentum, collided head-on with Nata.

Alvin had the upper hand.

Alvin could feel that his company commander was not as good as himself, at least in terms of strength, momentum, and some small details of exerting force.

He might... no, he was definitely better than his captain.

But Nata didn't seem to realize this, or at least was unwilling to admit it.

He still believed that it was because his power sword was in direct confrontation with Alvin's thunder hammer, and he suffered a disadvantage in terms of weapons. He was too reckless at the beginning and did not regard Alvin, a rookie with only five years of experience, as a real rival. When he got serious, Alvin would not be his opponent.

He raised his power sword and tried to confront Alvin head-on again.

But this time, the power sword's advantages of speed and flexibility were lost.

The disadvantage in the previous round forced Natta to spend more time and be more hasty in dealing with the enemy, which significantly affected his performance.

The moment the Thunder Hammer collided with the Power Sword, a dazzling blue-white arc erupted, and the visual stabilizer in Alvin's helmet automatically dimmed the light. He could clearly feel the vibration coming from the hammer handle, and the bionic muscle fiber bundles, with the assistance of the power armor servo system, dissipated the recoil force into nothingness.

Captain Nata's shoulder armor cracked into spider-web-like cracks in the collision, and the decomposition field of the power sword and the atomic disintegration module of the hammer head tore into each other. The splashing particle flow formed a continuously collapsing ball of light between the two.

"boom!"

Nata's tactical boots plowed a trench several meters long on the ground, and Alvin used the reaction force to turn and retreat, and the plasma gun in his left hand was charged almost instantly. The three-shot plasma beam accurately penetrated the gap in Nata's defense.

Nata was forced to swing his sword to block, but he could only block two of the bullets. The third bullet went through his lower right abdomen, causing a big wound.

What's even more terrifying is that Alvin's hammer came right after him.

The war hammer, covered with lightning, almost covered Nata's head.

But at this moment, Alvin's back sensor sent a stinging alarm, and the ballistic prediction lines of two automatic cannons flashed in the retinal projection.

In order to avoid being killed while bombing Nata, Alvin could only hide.

The hydraulic joint of his right leg suddenly increased pressure, and the whole person moved half a meter sideways in a posture that violated the laws of physics. The automatic cannon blasted a huge molten pit where he was standing, and boiling rock fragments solidified radially on the ground, and some even splashed onto Alvin. But these fragments did not cause Alvin to be injured.

However, in the churning disgust in front of him, a power sword tore through everything and rushed straight in front of him, decomposing the force field and dragging a twisted trajectory in the air.

The sharp blade scraped across the long handle of the thunder hammer, making a sharp sound. The decomposition force field passed along Alvin's neck armor, burning half of his helmet very hot.

Captain Nata cursed as he thrust his power sword into the ground and pulled out a spider mine from under the armor plate. But before the spinning killing machine could deploy its claws, the bullet from Alvin's gun accurately smashed into the detonation chamber.

Alvin didn't expect to kill the enemy with the spider mine's detonation. In the metal storm caused by the violent explosion, he stepped on the still molten floor and rushed forward, and the thunder hammer with high-frequency shock waves hit Nata.

“Crack!”

The captain's combat experience far exceeded expectations, and he caught the hammer with his power sword. Even under the huge force, his unbalanced body was able to use inertia to kick Alvin.

Alvin calmly dodged the kick, finished charging his plasma gun again, pressed the hilt of the power sword against it and fired, the recoil knocking the two men back three steps each.

Alvin threw away the helmet that was broken by the extremely dangerous sword just now, and the nano-repair agent flowed from the syringe in his neck to the burned facial tissue.

His left hand had already pulled out the molecular dagger from the side of his leg, blocking the chainsaw sword that was attacking from a strange angle - it was a veteran of the regiment who came around, and the rotating teeth chewed out bright sparks on the dagger's energy blade.

"Seventh second." Alvin muttered to himself as he dodged a series of explosive bombs and stabbed the dagger into the armpit of the power armor along the transmission structure of the chainsaw sword. The molecular-level blade easily cut the main hydraulic pipe, and the mechanical lubricant with body temperature splashed on the cheek that had just completed regeneration. The old soldier's body, which had not yet fallen, was used as a shield to push towards Nata, and shattered into a bloody rain in the decomposition field of the power sword.

Twelve red dots lit up in the blood mist.

Alvin's instinct for battle foresight made him hold the thunder hammer across his chest. Twelve red beams of light attacked from all directions, and the scorching smell of burning air was mixed with the pungent smell of vaporized ceramic steel - it was scattered from the hot melt array of a dreadnought mecha! He could feel the chest armor falling apart, and the burning pain from the subcutaneous nerve network was drowned out by the emergency painkiller.

But all the melta attacks avoided the fatal parts, and his blocking was effective.

"It's time to end!" Alvin roared, as if he had predicted Nata's advance. He swept his hammer across, blocking all the positions of Captain Nata, who had wanted to take this opportunity to kill him!

Nata's pupils shrank into lines in the spreading light of the explosion. He had never seen Alvin like this before - a warrior who had abandoned all defenses and was covered in blood, like a sharp blade drawn from its sheath.

He raised his power sword again, trying to block. But this more hasty block was ineffective. The decomposition field was shattered when it came into contact with the lightning arc, and the combat system built into the helmet issued an overload alarm, which was drowned out by the sound of the second heavy hammer smashing through the breastplate.

Nata could feel his sternum shattering inside the power armor, just like the sound he heard when he was transformed by the gene seed in the incubator. Both of his hearts suffered a fatal blow.
