The middle-aged man looked at it for a while before nodding and saying, "Give me this one."
Xu An put the boxed lunch back into the bag and handed it to the man. After paying the bill, the man didn't leave immediately. Instead, he took out a cigarette from his pocket and handed it to Xu An.
"Young man, business is good. When you first came over, you saw the truck was full of boxed meals. It hasn't been long since there's this little bit left."
You can't hit someone who's smiling, especially since this person hasn't done anything out of line. Xu An took the cigarette and replied perfunctorily, "It's alright, just earning a little bit of hard-earned money."
"Indeed, working under the sun and rain like this, it's really hard work for a meager living." The middle-aged man nodded in agreement, then asked, "Can you sell all of these every day?"
"More or less," Xu An replied evasively.
"I think your dishes are pretty good. Did you make them yourself or did you get them from somewhere?"
Xu An glanced at the middle-aged man. This wasn't the kind of question an ordinary customer would ask. Someone asking in such detail was most likely a fellow professional.
"I made it myself." This time, Xu An didn't even look at the man and answered his question casually.
Unexpectedly, the middle-aged man seemed oblivious to Xu An's change in attitude and continued to ask with a smile, "Young man, where do you usually buy your ingredients?"
This time, Xu An did not answer. Instead, he turned his head and looked at the middle-aged man with a smile that was no different from the man's.
The middle-aged man wanted to ask more questions, but as if he had seen something, he immediately closed his mouth and left with his lunchbox.
Xu An followed the middle-aged man's gaze and saw that Liang Dani had returned.
Liang Dani parked the car and looked curiously in the direction the middle-aged man had left: "Boss, was that your friend just now?"
"No, he's just a business rival who came to inquire about our business."
Liang Dani glanced at the back of the man a couple more times, her attention focused entirely on the middle-aged man's ears, and she had some doubts in her mind.

But she had something more important to tell Xu An. This thought only flashed through her mind for a moment before she dismissed it, turning to Xu An and saying, "Boss, the Shanghai Maritime Academy will start its summer vacation the day after tomorrow!"
