Clear a space, place two tree stumps at the bottom, and lay long branches on top in the opposite direction to make the base of the firewood pile.
Chop the remaining firewood into uniform lengths and stack them layer by layer. Find a few urea bags, put the scattered dried leaves into the bags, and place them against the wall.
Throw away the remaining odds and ends, and put the items that can be sold in bags for recycling.
After tidying up like this, the yard instantly became much cleaner and tidier.
If we have time to pave this muddy ground with bricks and pebbles, and plant some flowers and grass, it will become the farmhouse courtyard that city dwellers yearn for in the future.
Xu Heping took over Xu An's rocking chair, lay on it, and kicked his feet on the ground: "Anzi, how come you're so strong all of a sudden? You can clean up a bunch of things without even breaking a sweat."
Only after being reminded did Xu An realize something was wrong. Normally, he would struggle to carry one of his younger siblings at a time, but this morning he had picked them up one in each arm and carried them around the yard all day.
"I've probably been doing a lot of heavy physical work lately, so I've gotten stronger."
Xu An guessed that this was a benefit of being reborn, but he couldn't tell Xu Heping that, so he could only brush the issue off.

Perhaps it was the heat, or perhaps it was from crying, but both of them had flushed faces, and their sparse, yellow hair clung wetly to their faces, making them look extremely disheveled.
Xu An pulled the two into his arms, gently patted their backs, and whispered soothingly, "Brother's here, brother's here. Did you have a nightmare?"
The two nodded in unison and began to tell Xu An about their dream.
"I dreamt that my brother didn't want us anymore. We were taken away by a very scary old witch. She wouldn't feed us and made us do a lot of chores. When we said we wanted my brother back, she beat us. It was so scary."
"It's alright, your brother is here. If that old hag dares to come, your brother will drive her away. Your brother won't abandon you."
Xu Heping followed Xu An into the room. Seeing that the two were alright, he returned to the courtyard and continued rocking his recliner with a creaking sound. He muttered enviously, "The three siblings really have a good relationship. Unlike that brat in my family, who only knows how to screw me over."
