Chapter Twenty-Three: The Old Chinese Medicine Doctor

"I've heard many people say he's good at treating infertility, but I've never heard of anyone actually succeeding there. Master, do you know anyone who has received treatment there?"

"It's good that you don't know. The old Chinese medicine doctor's secret recipe uses many rare herbs, and the yield is not high. If word gets out and more people know about it, it will disturb his peace. He only helps those who are destined to receive it." The tractor driver's tone was full of pride.

"Then how do you know so much?" Xu An pressed.

"I have a relative, a real relative!" the tractor driver emphasized before continuing, "They had been married for over three years without children, so they asked around and found that old Chinese medicine doctor. They saw him once a week, and after three or five visits, they actually got pregnant. The child is now three years old, lively and adorable."

"Do you know how this old Chinese medicine doctor treated his patients?" Xu An brought up the topic again.

"The treatment process is kept secret; no one talks about it and no one knows about it. However, I do know about the accompanying Chinese medicine; it's all made from precious medicinal herbs and is very nourishing."

Treatment techniques cannot be mastered by simply glancing at them. The reason why traditional Chinese medicine practitioners are so cautious is that the treatment they are practicing may be illegal, something that cannot be shown to others, or even a criminal activity.

Of course, another possibility cannot be ruled out: the old Chinese medicine doctor awakened the Guanyin system that grants children, and the system's mission is to help a thousand infertile couples have their own children.

The three chatted as they returned to Xujia Village. The rumbling sound of the tractor attracted a crowd of onlookers from the village.

After the freezer was ordered, Xu An cleaned out the kitchen and called his second uncle, Xu Guoqiang, to help connect the electrical wires.

I moved the freezer to the kitchen, plugged it in, and the engine started up with a roar, indicating that the freezer was working properly.

Xu An touched the freezer with great satisfaction. Starting tomorrow, he can buy the ingredients he needs for the next day when he closes his stall in the afternoon and bring them back, instead of having to make a trip to town early in the morning to buy ingredients.

"Anzi, are you planning to open a small shop at home?" Grandma Xu's first reaction upon seeing the freezer was that Xu An wanted to open a small shop in the village.

"Grandma, this is for our own use, not for running a convenience store," Xu An said, looking completely bewildered.

"Then why buy a horizontal one? I've never seen anyone use this style in their home," Grandma Xu said, puzzled.

"This one is old, so it's cheap."

Once the word "cheap" was mentioned, Grandma Xu stopped worrying about whether the freezer was horizontal or vertical, and looked at it from left to right, becoming more and more satisfied.

But when she saw the freezer's power cord, her heart clenched. How much electricity would such a large freezer use in a day?!

In the evening, Xu An routinely tallied up the day's earnings.

Xu Kang and Xu Le were playing around on the side. Xu Le's little hand accidentally knocked the account book out of Xu An's hand, and a neatly folded piece of paper fell to the ground.

After scolding the two, Xu An picked up the notebook and papers that had fallen to the ground.

This is?

Xu An unfolded the neatly folded paper, glanced at the information on it, and then suddenly realized what it meant.

I remember now, isn't this the medical report that my uncle threw in the trash can at the bus stop?

When I got back, I just put it in my notebook and completely forgot about it.

'It's useless anyway, might as well throw it away.'

Just as Xu An was about to throw the paper into the trash can, his gaze suddenly fell on the torn corner.

The name was torn off, but the address is still on the report.

Room 803, Building 3, Mingyue Bay, Wangcheng District, Shanghai

This is my aunt's address!

My aunt's family only has one male member, my aunt's husband, so this medical report really is my aunt's husband's!

My uncle's hair is a bit green.
