Chapter 79

Chapter 1

When Jiang Qi brought Wang Zhuo to the store, Huang Fugui had not started cooking noodles yet, but Gong Ye had already arrived.

There were no customers in the store as usual, but the milk tea business was good. Jiang Wanwan and Wang Erya were busy behind the bar, while Liu Lan, Old John, Huang Fugui and Qin Can all went to deliver milk tea.

The milk tea business was particularly good today, with so many orders that Jiang Wanwan had to write them down on sticky notes and make milk tea according to the order on the notes on the wall to avoid making any mistakes.

Gong Ye was sitting on the sofa playing with his mobile phone. He did not come empty-handed this time, he brought a special side dish - pickled caviar.

When Jiang Qi saw the jar full of large, plump caviar of unknown price on the bar, he thought seriously for two seconds whether he should pay Gong Ye.

"I bought a sesame bun at the train station." Jiang Qi raised the bun in his hand.

"Wow! It's Granny Xu's sesame pancake!" Jiang Wanwan took the pancake with surprise, wiped her hands, and couldn't wait to put one into her mouth. She took out another one and put it into the mouth of Wang Erya, who was making kumquat and lemon pancakes without hands.

"Qinghe, is it delicious?"

Wang Erya puffed up her cheeks and chewed a few times, then swallowed it, without stopping her hands as she brewed a fresh cup of kumquat lemonade.

"It's delicious." Wang Erya said flatteringly, "It would be even more delicious if it was stuffed with meat."

"The ones with meat filling don't taste this good. Granny Xu used to sell meat-filled sesame cakes, one yuan each, but they weren't as delicious as sesame cakes, so now she only sells sesame cakes instead of meat ones." Jiang Wanwan explained, glancing at the order on her phone, "And a cup of coconut milk tea will do the job."

Wang Erya started making coconut milk tea skillfully, and it didn’t look like she was learning it for the first time.

"Brother Jiang Qi, is he a guest or..." Jiang Wanwan pointed at Wang Zhuo who was dragging a suitcase and looking around at the door.

"He is my college roommate Wang Zhuo." Jiang Qi then realized that Wang Zhuo had been standing at the door and had not come in. He hurried out and pulled him in. "Why are you standing at the door?"

"Old Jiang, your business is really big." Wang Zhuo exclaimed, "I didn't expect that you are the hidden rich second generation in our dormitory. You have been hiding your true self all these years."

Jiang Qi: ...

If you knew how much money Ms. Jiang Bing has lost running her store over the years, you wouldn't say this.

"This is my sister's shop. I'm here to help manage it." Jiang Qi said vaguely and introduced the people in the shop to Wang Zhuo.

"Hello, Brother Wang Zhuo." Jiang Wanwan said with a smile.

"Hello, Brother Wang." Wang Erya greeted Wang Zhuo seriously.

Coconut milk tea is ready.

The four people who delivered milk tea had not returned, so Jiang Wanwan was the one to deliver this order. Wang Erya, who was working seriously, began to poke the sausages. The holes she poked on each sausage were symmetrical, which made Jiang Qi wonder if Wang Erya had obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Wang Zhuo put the suitcase in the corner, and Jiang Qi took him upstairs for a tour. As soon as they reached the second floor, Wang Zhuo couldn't wait to ask, "Old Jiang, what's wrong with you? You're hiring child laborers. Even if student labor is cheaper, you can't let even elementary school students go."

"How can you say you are employing child labor? I didn't pay any money."

Wang Zhuo:?

"Wang Qinghe is the niece of Uncle Huang I told you about. She lives upstairs in my house now. Qinghe is 15 years old, old enough to go to high school. The little girl is pitiful. Don't talk nonsense in front of her."

"Why is it pitiful?" Wang Zhuo asked curiously.

Jiang Qi sighed and began to tell the story of Wang Erya’s tragic life, and also introduced Old John and Huang Fugui.

Five minutes later, Wang Erya's popularity increased a little.

"It's so tragic." Wang Zhuo wiped the non-existent tears from the corners of his eyes and sighed.

"It took a lot of effort for the little girl to recover to her current state. When she first came here, she was so withdrawn that she didn't dare to speak. Don't talk nonsense in front of her and poke at her sad memories!" Jiang Qi reminded.

Wang Zhuo said sternly, "Am I that kind of person? I have always been a chivalrous man, upright and honest, and I have never done such immoral things!"

Jiang Qi thought to himself that you didn't do anything bad, you were just stupid and forgetful sometimes.

When Yu Fang was heartbroken, he grabbed his roommate in the dormitory and cried while talking to him and got drunk. The next day, Wang Zhuo spoke too quickly and forgot that Yu Fang was cheated on by his first girlfriend. He asked Yu Fang whether he was having lunch with his girlfriend or roommate.

Yu Fang became completely autistic and was emo for three days.

"Come on." Jiang Qi smiled, "How is your graduate school life? Tell me in detail, even though I haven't landed a job yet."

Wang Zhuo thought about it, took out his mobile phone and showed Jiang Qi the laboratory rules set by Xiao Zhang.

1. Students are required to spend more than 10 hours in the laboratory per day, 6 days per week;

2. You need to do experiments for more than 6 hours a day, you cannot watch videos unrelated to scientific research, and you cannot use your mobile phone or computer to contact or chat with the outside world for more than 3 minutes continuously;

3. Introduce new concepts and technologies in a timely manner to improve one’s scientific research capabilities;

4……

There were 9 in total, which left Jiang Qi dumbfounded.

Good guy, he is just a good guy.

"Wow." Jiang Qi didn't know what to say for a moment.

"This laboratory rule was copied by our Xiao Zhang from a tutor in the chemistry department next door." Wang Zhuo looked surprised. "But it's not so strictly enforced. Xiao Zhang sometimes has things to do and can't come, so how can he supervise us every day to see if we are slacking off?"

"Is the legend about helping the boss walk the dog true?" Jiang Qi asked curiously.

Wang Zhuo shook his head: "I haven't sneaked away, but I have helped Xiao Zhang feed the rabbits."

"My senior sister is currently doing the work of reporting invoices, but she will graduate next year, so it will be my turn soon."

Jiang Qi even saw some expectation on Wang Zhuo's face.

"Brother Jiang Qi, Uncle Huang is going to make noodles. He asked how many bowls of noodles you and Wang Zhuo would like to eat later?" Jiang Wanwan shouted downstairs.

"I'll eat one bowl, and Wang Zhuo will eat three bowls!" Jiang Qi shouted back from upstairs.

Wang Zhuo refused again and again: "How can I eat three bowls! I ate potato chips, biscuits, chocolate and Swiss rolls in the car, one bowl is enough!"

"No, you can eat it." Jiang Qi said meaningfully.

Twenty minutes later, dinner is served.

Today's variety of side dishes is a little small, with only 26 items, mainly because several types of kimchi were finished and Liu Lan didn't have time to restock them.

However, the caviar brought by Gong Ye greatly enhanced the flavor of today's side dishes, and the sesame cakes bought by Jiang Qi won unanimous praise from everyone, making up for the lack of quantity with quality.

Wang Zhuo was first stunned by the side dishes on the table, and then by the freshly-cooked vegetable noodles. After finishing a bowl of vegetable noodles, Wang Zhuo felt that Jiang Qi was the person who understood him best in the world.

There are such delicious vegetable noodles in the world!

Just three bowls of vegetable noodles, I can finish them even if I am full to death. Not only can I finish them, I can even drink up the soup!

Wang Zhuo ate three bowls of vegetable noodles in a row, and even his burps tasted like vegetable noodles. Seeing this, Gong Ye only regretted that he was born a few years earlier and didn't have the chance to be Jiang Qi's roommate and come over to eat three bowls of vegetable noodles every day.

"Burp." Wang Zhuo expressed his respect for the green vegetable noodles with a loud burp.

There were still no guests in the evening. Wang Zhuo came all the way here, but after so much trouble, he didn't even get into Jiang Qi's house. Now that the vegetable noodles were finished, it was time for Jiang Qi to take Wang Zhuo back home.

Wang Zhuo was half lying on the sofa, his stomach was very full, and he was still savoring the vegetable noodles he had just eaten. He looked like a big yellow dog lying on the ground in the countryside to bask in the sun, his face full of satisfaction.

"Going back?" Jiang Qi asked.

"Let's go." Wang Zhuo stood up with difficulty, "Is your home far from here?"

"Walk for 20 minutes."

Wang Zhuo rubbed his stomach: "Then let's walk back to digest the food."
