Chapter 148 Weird
Back to the river bank.
From a distance, I saw a person standing next to the willow tree.
The boatman was puffing on his pipe, his whole face hidden in the smoke. When he saw the people coming back, he didn't stand up to greet them, but continued to squat there in a daze.
Chen Chunxing followed his gaze and discovered that the trembling wooden bridge had been dismantled. He couldn't help but wonder, "Is someone here to cause trouble?"
No one answered.
The boatman looked across, stood up, patted his butt and prepared to leave.
"You're leaving work so early today?" Chen Chunxing pointed at the river, his expression becoming even stranger. "You don't even want a boat?"
The boatman snorted coldly: "Whoever wants it can have it."
I don't know what kind of temper he has.
The boatman was gone, but the river still had to be crossed. Yang Yi was just about to hand the child to Xue Yongan when he saw someone walking towards him from the tea stall behind him.
He was tall and thin, with a sallow complexion, and looked like he would collapse at any moment.
It was the man who was possessed by Liu Sanlang.
After being carried back by the Taoist priest, this man fell into a coma for a while due to severe physical deficiency and the erosion of Yin energy.
Doctor Chu took his pulse and prescribed several nourishing medicines, which barely saved his life.
In the eyes of others, he was in cahoots with Miss Shen, but only Shen Chunxing knew the inside story.
Now that she saw that he had woken up, it was obvious that he was waiting for her here on purpose. She rolled her eyes and smiled meaningfully.
"Miss Chen is finally back..." Qian Youliang looked to the left and then to the right, showing a grateful expression towards Bu Wan.
Bu Wan took a half step back and pointed to the side suspiciously, "This is Miss Shen."
“…”
Qian Youliang rubbed his hands a little awkwardly.
What a fuss!
He actually woke up early in the morning and just happened to see the old Taoist and a few others boarding the boat and leaving.
Before he fainted that day, his identity was not exposed, but these people took great pains to bring him back to Liuren City. What does this mean?
Even if he is not one of us, he must know some inside information!
Now that they see each other, Qian Youliang can't help but show some closeness...but he didn't expect that he was close to the wrong person.
This morning, he had listened to the people in the clinic bragging about "Miss Chen" so much that his ears were almost callused, and his mind naturally pictured a heroic figure.
Now that I saw it with my own eyes, I was shocked to find that Miss Shen was actually a yellow-haired girl!
Qian Youliang changed direction without changing his expression and said to Chen Chunxing cordially, "Miss, you're finally back! A distinguished guest has come to visit. I'll be waiting for you for a while!"
"Oh?" Chen Chunxing laughed, "Just after we left, someone came to the door. What a coincidence."
The tone of the two people's conversation did not seem like that of acquaintances, and Bu Wan's eyes showed confusion.
Everyone she met today seemed strange. She wanted to ask something, but she didn't know where to start.
In the end, I kept my doubts to myself. At least I knew something.
The girl from the Shen family cannot be wrong.
Even if the man in front of him really came from a den of thieves, there must be thousands of reasons for that, and he would definitely not be a pure bad guy.
"This is really neglecting our distinguished guests. Let's go back quickly."
Upon learning that the boatmen were on strike, Qian Youliang took over the job of rowing the boat. After everyone was on the boat, he realized that one person was missing and asked casually.
"Where is the Taoist priest who carried me back?"
Chen Chunxing was sitting in the middle of the boat, training a cat. Hearing the noise, he casually said, "Maybe it fell into the river. Let's wait for someone to fish it out."
The cat sat with the child who had just been picked up, with its neck stiff and a look of discontent on its face. After the child stroked its fur for a long time, it finally howled loudly, as an admission of fault.
Well, Chen Chunxing is admitting his mistake.
"Don't think you can act like a spoiled brat just because you're smart. If you piss me off, Di Ting will have to eat carrots every meal when he comes!"
She whispered softly into the cat's ear, which frightened the cat so much that it gave up its soft cushion with a sense of grievance.
“…” Chen Chunxing sneered and threw the cat back to the child.
Who cares?
"How did you fall into the water..."
On the other side, Qian Youliang became anxious. He stretched his neck to look into the river, and he really wanted to jump in.
After looking for a long time, he suddenly came over. According to the Taoist priest's ability, he should not have fallen into the water!
Look back.
Sure enough, several people had strange expressions, especially Miss Shen, who smiled particularly brightly.
"You seem to care about the Taoist priest?"
Qian Youliang suddenly felt a chill down his spine, and keenly realized that things were not what he had expected.
If they are one of us, why would this be a problem?
He laughed innocently: "If a girl fell into the water, I would also rush to save her."
Chen Chunxing hummed softly.
No more words.
The boat soon docked.
Qian Youliang hadn't left the boat yet, and he kept shouting, "How dare they strike in broad daylight? Are you dissatisfied with the money at home? I'll go get that boatman right away! If he wants to slack off, he shouldn't delay our medical care!"
In fact, there was no one waiting on the river bank at all.
The bridge is gone, and so are the patients.
If he hadn't seen that his face looked normal, Chen Chunxing would have doubted whether the person coming was a noble person or the King of Hell!
Glancing at the several flower boats parked on the river bank, Chen Chunxing curled his lips.
There were several women leaning on the flower boat, dressed gorgeously, even more eye-catching than the ones I had met on the street before.
The little medicine boy only took a sneak peek, and his ears turned red. He dared not look again, and cried out in pain: "No, no!"
Peilan withdrew his hand, gave him a sharp look, opened the door, and whispered to Chen Chunxing, "Miss, my wife is counting on you."
Chen Chunxing didn't answer, just smiled and stepped over the threshold.
When she saw the familiar face at the bottom of the corridor, she silently mouthed to Xue Yongan: Here comes the bargain.
Xue Yongan half-lowered his eyes, hiding his smile, and bowed to Yang Yucheng who turned around: "Your Excellency actually found this place, it's really embarrassing for me!"
Yang Yucheng was stunned.
Then he said gratefully, "You are truly a god! You even foresaw the trouble I would encounter here! Now that I have seen you, I can finally let go of my worries. When I return to Honglu County, I will definitely have these children's parents erect a longevity tablet for you!"
Yang Yucheng smacked his lips, understanding the implication, and asked cautiously, "Are you saying that these children were abducted from Honglu County?"
Xue Yongan answered as a matter of course: "This place is far from Chiling and next to the Jiebei Mountains. If they didn't abduct from Honglu County, could they be from the Nine Peaks and Eighteen Villages?"
“…”
Yang Yucheng smiled.
So funny.
He then realized that this man was not as serious as he seemed, and his ability to lie with his eyes open was enough to rival those old foxes in the court.
But when he glanced at the little girl next to him, thought of the identity of the Seventh Prince, and the disputes in the capital, Yang Yucheng nodded in agreement.
"In that case, congratulations to you, my dear brother. You've just arrived at the jurisdiction and you've already solved such a big case."
Anyway, the person he was looking for had been found, so he didn't care much about the rest.
There is a shortage of talent in the military.
But no dead soldiers can be left.
Those children have undergone brutal training and most of them are physically disabled. It is still unknown how many of them can survive.
If Prince Li's men had arrived first, they might have been able to fight for it, but it was different for Yang Yucheng.
He pondered for a moment, then got straight to the point: "Now that the trouble at Jiufeng has been resolved, it's inconvenient for us to linger here. I've come here to inform you that if you want to leave, take that flower boat out of the city. I'll keep it a secret for you, regardless of who you want to take with you. There's only one thing: hurry! The sooner the better!"
Xue Yongan didn't have time to answer.
A voice suddenly sounded beside him.
"Including Doctor Chu?"
Yang Yucheng said in a deep voice: "Of course."
Chen Chunxing smiled.
No wonder the bridge is being demolished, even the doctors are gone...
