Chapter 6
Ji Wenxue still smiled easily, "Since Sister Wandi is here, I'm not afraid. Besides, I've learned some wilderness survival skills. Even though they're not superb yet, I can still hold on for a few days!"
Listening to Ji Wenxue's words, Ying Zhao suddenly felt humble. This child, who was much younger than her, was so free and independent. She looked down at the top of Ji Wenxue's head and felt even smaller.
"Sister Ying Zhao's medical skills are amazing, aren't they? She's definitely better than me," Ji Wenxue said, looking up with a smile. Then, looking ahead, she became even more excited. "Sister Wan Di has stopped. This must be a great place. I just walked over here and I really like it! I'll go over first!" She said this and ran ahead.
Ying Zhao followed and took a few quick steps. He saw that Wan Di had indeed stopped. After looking at a few places, he announced that everyone should stay here for now and talk about other things tomorrow morning.
With a place in hand, everyone quickly took up their duties according to Wan Di's previous arrangements. Ying Zhao was left there, hesitating about what to do, when he suddenly heard Wan Di calling his name from the other side and then waving.
Wan Di looked at Ying Zhao who was walking towards her with doubts, and said straight to the point: "The collision was very destructive, and some people were injured. I'd like you to go and take a look." Although she tried her best to protect everyone, due to her personal physique and luck, some people were still injured, but fortunately they were not in vital areas.
But this place is too unfamiliar, and I don’t know what I will encounter. In this environment, even a small injury can be life-threatening, so treatment is urgent.
Ying Zhao immediately became serious and followed Wan Di towards the crowd. "But there's no medicine here..."
"Don't worry, just help me see where they are injured, and I'll find the medicine they need." Wandi turned around and said.
Ying Zhao nodded. Every second counts in treating patients, and she quickly immersed herself in it. As she looked at them one by one, her brows slowly relaxed. She had thought that such a serious accident would cause serious injuries to everyone, but surprisingly, it was much better than she had imagined.
"Everyone's injuries are not serious, but they need some medicine to prevent infection." Ying Zhao looked at Wanti and said, although he was very powerful, she always felt that the other party was very distant.
Wandi nodded, "I understand. You take everyone to rest here, I'll go take a look around." After saying that, he turned and left.
Wandi walked, looking down at her feet. She needed to find some herbs. The grass beneath her feet was incredibly soft, even softer than some expensive carpets. The weather was beautiful. Looking up, she could see the azure sky. Warm sunlight streamed into the forest, only to be filtered by the leaves, casting hazy circles of light. A gentle breeze blew across her body, making the hairs on her body tremble comfortably.
In addition to the grass and trees, there is also the breath of freedom.
There was no one in this place, especially no men who did not take a bath, so there was no dirt or stench, just a lively scene.
Wandi's mood couldn't help but improve. She searched carefully and finally found the right herbs. After picking some, she immediately rushed back to their temporary camp - next to a stream.
I washed the herbs by the stream and crushed them with pebbles. Ying Zhao also came to help. After crushing them, I applied them to the wound.
"Sister Wandi, we're back!" Everyone came back one after another. Wandi said to Ying Zhao in front of her, "I'll go over there to help everyone build the house. I'll leave the hard work to you here."
"Don't worry, go ahead and get busy!" Ying Zhao replied with a smile, glancing at the sky. It was slowly getting darker, and they had to hurry up and build their own shelter.
As Wandi approached, Jiang Zouwei came over excitedly to share, "The trees here are very tall. To the east, there's a large forest. It would be great if we could build a house there."
Wandi was also very happy to hear the good news, "In that case, let's build that room type today." It is simple, fast and convenient for everyone to rest tonight, and the structure may still be used tomorrow.
They got to work right away. Everyone quickly gathered together, bringing wood, stones, grass and leaves... They encouraged each other and laughed happily.
Facing the uninhabited planet, no one was afraid or discouraged at all.
"Over there! Sisters, push it quickly, it's about to fall!"
"Phew, that was a close call! Luckily you saw it, or our roof would be gone!"
Wandi also smiled when he heard this, "Everyone be careful and don't get hurt."
"Okay!" Everyone responded with a smile.
Although the things were heavy and hard to find, a small nest that could shelter from the wind and rain was built with everyone's efforts. Everyone looked at the house in front of them, and although their faces were covered in gray and black, they all smiled sincerely.
Ying Zhao watched with twitching eyes. Actually, she had no interest in repairing things. On the one hand, she had never had any experience in this area. On the other hand, she did not believe that a group of women could do the work of the traditional pillars of the family.
She actually had complicated feelings about Wandi saving her. On the one hand, she was grateful to Wandi for saving her life, but on the other hand, she felt a little resentful that Wandi separated her from her man.
Ji Wenxue ran over while she was preparing the ingredients, holding a chicken in her hand. "Wow, our house is so great! Sister Wandi, I want to sleep with you later!"
Wandi agreed with a smile, "Okay, but you should go roast the chicken first. Everyone's been busy all day and must be hungry. Now we're relying on you."
Ji Wenxue raised the chicken and said, "I'll go right away and let everyone taste my skills!" She is serious about roasting chicken and is absolutely confident in her skills.
Just as she was about to turn around, someone suddenly rushed over and hugged her. Wandi tilted her head slightly and saw Yao Si's excited little head popping up. "Wow, that's amazing! So this is how you can build a house? I thought you had to find a cave or bring a camping rack."
Yao Si was very excited and active the whole day. She felt like she was on an adventure in the wild. When she was building the house just now, she took the initiative to climb up and down. She was full of energy and learned a lot of knowledge that she had never known before.
"It's about adapting to local conditions," Wandi said, turning around slowly. "You're very talented in this area. Come with me to take a look around tomorrow!" Because of her sixth sense, Wandi was actually very satisfied with the place they found. However, the purpose of going around was to see what was nearby, what the terrain was like, and to ensure safety. On the other hand, if there was a better place, they didn't have to stay here.
Yao Si agreed readily, "Of course, although I don't know much, but I'm lucky!" After saying that, he suddenly thought of something, glanced at Wan Di quickly, and then laughed it off.
By the time everyone had put the haystacks into the house, the tempting aroma of roast chicken had already wafted out.
"It smells really good, Wenxue." Yao Si sniffed like a puppy and ran to Ji Wenxue following the aroma. Looking at the roasted chicken on the wooden rack, Yao Si realized that it was not just the smell, but the skin of the chicken was roasted to a shiny burnt red, which made people very hungry.
Ji Wenxue raised her head proudly, "I told you my skills are the best!" She couldn't say much about other things, but when it came to food, she believed she had few rivals. Then she shouted over there, "The roast chicken is ready, everyone come and eat!"
People rushed over from all directions and sat together. I didn't notice it when I was working, but when I smelled the roasted chicken, I realized that I hadn't eaten for almost a day and was really hungry.
Ji Wenxue's eyes lit up as she watched the steaming roasted chicken above the fire. She grabbed a drumstick and, while huffing and puffing, said it was hot, she handed it over like a treasure. "Sister Wandi, try this! Luckily, I usually keep all the seasonings in my pocket, otherwise, even if I wanted to, I wouldn't be able to cook it today."
Wan Di looked at Ji Wenxue and quickly took the scalding chicken leg. "Why are you in such a hurry? Be careful not to burn your hands!" Then she passed the chicken leg to the person next to her. "Ying Zhao has been taking care of the wounded alone today. You can eat first to replenish your energy."
Wandi only had a passing knowledge of injuries, and her usual approach to treating them was too casual, with no clear path to the correct approach. She was very grateful for the help of professional Ying Zhao.
Ying Zhao was a little flattered when looking at the chicken leg in front of her. To be honest, she didn't feel that she had done anything, and even if she had done something, her contribution would definitely not be more important than anyone else's.
She wanted to push it back, but Wandi had already turned her head away, leaving only a cold profile. Ying Zhao simply turned her head to the other side, not even looking at who the other person was, and blurted out: "You've worked hard today, you come and eat first."
After handing it over, she realized the person sitting next to her was Jiang Zouwei, the girl who often walked with Wandi. She was also very impressive. However, her personality was even colder than usual. They had never spoken to each other in all these days.
Ying Zhao was a little embarrassed, but she had finally passed the "hot potato" on. She also followed Wan Di's example and turned her head away immediately, pretending nothing had happened.
Jiang Zouwei, still pondering her plan for tomorrow, was suddenly thrust into a hand. She looked down and saw it was a chicken drumstick. The words slurred into her voice made it clear they weren't sincere. She did remember Ying Zhao, the senior student her younger sister had mentioned.
But now it was so confusing that Jiang Zouwei looked around speechlessly. Finally, he simply stuffed the food into Yao Si's mouth and said simply, "Eat."
Yao Sicai didn't hesitate and took a bite immediately after receiving it. "Thank you!" Then he looked at Ji Wenxue and gave her a shiny thumbs up. "It's really delicious, so delicious!"
Everyone laughed together. When Ji Wenxue saw Wan Di winking at her, she immediately understood. The four roasted chickens had been divided up when they were being polite to each other just now, and everyone basically got the same amount.
The injured soldier felt guilty about not having done anything and tried to shirk responsibility, only to hear Wandi say, "If you want to help, then eat and get better quickly. If you keep dragging your illness on, you're a burden to everyone."
