Chapter 14: Survive from a desperate situation?

There is no concept of time in the dim space.

Russell, who had a precise biological clock, knew that it was still dark, and less than an hour had passed since he woke up.

But the torture of waiting for death in the dark is really excruciating.

Even though he has been fighting for his ideals until now, he couldn't help but feel a little scared.

"Why don't they come and deal with us?"

Russell suddenly spoke up.

"Maybe they forgot about it? At this early hour, those scumbags must still be sleeping or having fun."

"Are you scared?"

Romero didn't turn around to look at Russell, who was leaning against him shoulder to shoulder. He knew that the expressions of both of them were probably not very good at the moment.

I have been locked up in darkness, starving, anesthetized, and waiting for death...

Even if you are made of iron, you may not be able to be free and easy at this moment.

"Fortunately, there is still hope."

Russell did not give a direct answer, but just made an ambiguous comment.

He didn't dare to say it clearly.

But Romero knew what he meant.

This doesn't mean that the two of them still have hope of survival, but it means that there are still a few people in the small team fighting with them, and not all of them will die.

There is still hope for this cause in the future.

"Or, find a way to commit suicide."

Russell suddenly spoke up.

Hearing this, Romero paused.

He wanted to object, but his mind told him that this might be a good idea.

To avoid inhuman torture, but more importantly, to avoid being tortured to the point of being unable to hold on and accidentally revealing the information of surviving companions.

There was silence for a long time, and no one spoke.

Committing suicide also requires courage.

Especially in an empty cell like this, it is very difficult to commit suicide cleanly.

After a long time, Romero was about to say something, but suddenly raised his head in surprise.

Russell was startled by Romero's big movement leaning next to him and subconsciously turned to look at him.

"What's wrong?"

Russell frowned.

Romero did not answer, but motioned to Russell to shut up, then closed his eyes and listened carefully.

Seeing this, Russell tacitly said nothing more.

After a moment, Romero opened his eyes, his expression filled with a hint of shock.

"What happened?"

Russell continued to ask the same question.

He did not doubt that Romero was driven crazy by his current situation because he knew that Romero had always had unusual hearing.

"above……"

Romero stopped short before he could finish.

He dragged his body, the effect of the anesthetic not yet dissipated, and staggered towards Russell.

Despite his huge build, his movements were not very agile and powerful due to the effects of anesthetics, but he still pushed Russell a few steps away.

Russell fell to the ground and heard a loud noise at the same time before he could ask anything.

Along with the loud noise, the dungeon ceiling shattered in an instant.

The steel bars broke and large chunks of concrete slabs fell off.

The dark-colored horrific giant stepped on the shattered dungeon ceiling.

With the faint starlight, I looked up through the broken dungeon ceiling.

Russell could see that it was a super huge spider, probably more than ten meters tall.

The surface of its shell is dark and reflective, like an exoskeleton made of black metal and then polished.

It was one of its spider legs that stepped on the dungeon's ceiling and broke it.

Fortunately, the spider monster didn't care about him under his feet.

Because the kick was not careful and the air was missed, several RPG fires hit its body accurately, and the fire from automatic rifles was also flashing.

Although these bullets were useless against the spider monster, the RPG's fire still left a few black marks.

The spider made a buzzing sound with some unknown organ, then raised its sunken legs and ran towards the direction where the RPG was shooting.

Russell stared blankly at the departing spider monster, and before he had time to calm down from his shattered worldview, he suddenly came to his senses.

He shouted "Romero" and went towards the small piece of ruins that had fallen.

Russell quickly stepped over pieces of gravel of varying sizes and soon found Romero.

Fortunately, Romero was not buried by the rubble.

Otherwise, with the pile of reinforced concrete falling down and the giant spider monster stepping on it, he would definitely turn into a pile of meat paste.

However, a broken short steel bar pierced one of his arms.

The blood stained his sleeves and the ground.

Romero himself fell into a coma.

Seeing this, Russell decisively tore off his shirt, wrapped his arm that was pierced by the steel bar, and did some necessary emergency bleeding treatment.

But this is only a temporary solution.

Romero is in such a condition that he must be sent to the doctor immediately.

Russell didn't bother to think about the terrifying giant spider outside, and hurriedly stepped onto the reinforced concrete ruins, trying to see what was happening outside the dungeon.

The ceiling of the dungeon was trampled through by the giant spider monster, and the height of the fallen reinforced concrete pile was just enough for him to step on it and reach the ceiling of the dungeon.

So he quickly grabbed the entrance to the cave and used all his strength to stick his head out.

As soon as his head emerged from the ground, he was shocked by the devastated scene.

Apparently, the gigantic spider monster had been rampaging around in this evil estate before, and its corpses, crushed into pulp, were everywhere.

Fortunately, the giant spider has gone away.

He could hear the giant spider still making loud noises in the forest not far away, and occasional sporadic gunfire coming from that direction.

As long as it's not on your face!

He quickly climbed out of the dungeon and rushed into the ruins of the manor to look for the materials he needed.

Rope! Or some kind of fiber cloth! The height of the rubble below was enough for him to barely climb out, but there was absolutely no way to get Romero up who was still unconscious and with a hole in his arm.

He needed to secure Romero with a rope and pull him up quickly without touching the wound on his arm.

Romero, who has fainted in the dungeon, needs to hurry out, not only to get to the hospital before dying of blood loss, but also to save time against the giant spider that may come back at any time.

That thing is horrible.

The evil forces that could have taken them down in minutes were flattened by that thing in minutes.

Although the situation was urgent, Russell was calmer than ever before.

The current situation may not be a dead end!

The big spider's kick was like a deus ex machina, directly breaking the original desperate situation.

As long as he could find the rope, he would have hope of bringing Romero back alive.

While thinking, Russell ran hard in the ruins of the manor, trying to find a rope or a substitute for it.

Suddenly, he stopped.

Looking at the curtains buried in the ruins of the manor, his eyes couldn't help but light up.

He immediately ran past the blurry corpses, picked up the curtains and ran to the dungeon entrance, and began to weave a rope with a hammock with trembling hands.

This is an intense and long process.

Russell, racing against time, felt his heart was in his throat.

After securing Romero in the hammock, Russell climbed up and prepared to pull his partner out.

However, the roar that was getting closer made Russell swallow.

Russell knew it.

That was the sound of a giant spider moving on the ground. It had come back after chasing into the forest, and had apparently dealt with those who resisted.

Russell paused, and as he pulled the rope upward, he began to tremble.
