Chapter 27 The Killing Crazy "New Warrior"

That night, Du Qifeng went to the Wenhua night show to see "New Wusheng." He found a landline somewhere and called Wu Changyun, excitedly saying, "It's full house! The response was really good today. I counted the people, and the next door's "Master Wu" didn't sell as well as ours."

"I understand." Wu Changyun smiled.

The next day, Du Qifeng called again. This time, there seemed to be a lot of noise around him. He shouted, "It's crowded. Come and see. Our queue is already full today."

"Really? That's great." Wu Changyun still answered with a smile and rejected Du Qifeng's invitation because he planned to reveal the suspense at the last moment.

On the third day, it was Fushun who called. He couldn't wait any longer and ran to the cinema. He said on the phone, "It's crazy, it's crazy. 'New Wusheng' is crazy, come and see it."

This time, Wu Changyun frowned. What did he mean by "killing like crazy"? What did he mean?

"Is it that exaggerated?"

"Come quickly, I tell you, get a hat and a scarf to cover your face, and don't let them recognize you."

Wu Changyun paced back and forth in the room. The old lady outside was annoyed and said, "Why are you wandering around? If you're in a hurry, just go."

Wu Changyun picked up his mobile phone, ran downstairs and headed straight for the Royal Capital Cinema.

The Royal Capital Cinema was on a main street, with shops on the first floor of residential buildings on both sides, all bearing various signs. The cinema had five floors, the lowest and widest of which was where movie tickets and snacks were sold, while the two upper floors were for watching movies. Wu Changyun stood across the street and saw that people were already lining up outside.

Wu Changyun walked past the queue. The scene inside was even more spectacular. If it weren't for the staff maintaining order, it would have gotten out of control. After squeezing through the crowd, he finally saw Fushun sitting in the corner. At first, he didn't recognize Wu Changyun.

"Hey, what's going on? Is it our movie now?" Wu Changyun said as he sat next to him.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Wu Changyun."

"Oh, you're here. You're wrapped up tightly and wearing sunglasses. You're great."

"Stop talking nonsense, what's going on here?"

"I told you, it's crazy. Let's check the later schedule of our movie." Fushun pointed to the notice hanging on the wall.

Wu Changyun walked over and looked at what was written on it. He counted the schedules of Shaw Brothers' theaters from one to twenty, and found that a total of eleven theaters had arranged to screen "The New Warrior" in one day. At that time, Shaw Brothers' Mandarin films and imported Western films were very popular. The already full schedule was squeezed by "The New Warrior", and could only be allocated to the midnight schedule. It seemed that the theaters had to show the film until midnight for four or five consecutive days.

"What's going on with the people outside?"

"They're just queuing. I didn't ask about it." Fushun replied. He had never thought there was anything strange about the queue before. It was only when he saw Wu Changyun's expression that he realized there was something wrong.

Standing in the queue was a lady wearing sunglasses. She was wearing a white lace shirt with a black belt that highlighted her curves. She was paired with flared pants and high heels, which attracted the attention of the men around her from time to time. Her name was Chen Sisi.

Chen Sisi fiddled with his sun hat for a moment and said to the man walking next to him, "Cousin, I told you not to come to the cinema, but you insisted on not stopping, and you didn't even go to your company's cinema."

"I checked the nearest cinema, and this is the only one that has it."

The man's name is Liu Jiayu. He is dressed in a suit and tie. After studying abroad for many years, he came back and planned to give his cousin a surprise. He happened to catch the recently rumored hit "New Wusheng".

Liu Jiayu looked around. Although he had checked the ticket schedule beforehand, he still didn't expect the tickets to be so tight. He made an appointment with his cousin but couldn't buy a ticket, so he was a little anxious.

"Would you like a ticket?" a young man in a denim jacket came over and asked proudly?

"Is he a new martial artist?" Liu Jiayu was a little skeptical of the man in front of him.

"Of course, eight yuan a piece. I think the beauty next to you is really good-looking, so I'll give you a discount. Two pieces for twelve yuan." The scalper replied.

"Twelve?"

Although it was a bit expensive, his cousin was waiting right next to him, so Liu Jiayu suppressed his displeasure at being taken advantage of and nodded.

"Forget it, cousin. We won't buy this kind of ticket."

Chen Sisi decisively refused and planned to pull her cousin away. Liu Jiayu smiled and persuaded her cousin, then quickly handed the money to the scalper. Just as he was about to take the ticket from him, a big hand stopped the transaction in mid-air.

"Oh, I almost forgot about this. There are scalpers now." Wu Changyun smiled.

Seeing that things were not going well, the box office manager pulled the ticket back and said, "Who are you? What does my ticket selling have to do with you?"

Wu Changyun looked at the two people buying tickets in front of him. Chen Sisi deliberately turned his face to avoid being recognized. Wu Changyun was also wearing sunglasses and a hat. Seeing Chen Sisi's abnormal behavior, he did not pursue it too much.

"Selling tickets? That's a movie theater's job? What are you? A ticket scalper?"

Wu Changyun then asked Liu Jiayu, "How much is his ticket?"

"Four dollars." Liu Jiayu said hesitantly.

"Wow, you're really selling a standard ticket for so much! The best seats in the theater are only three and a half dollars. You're really brave."

"Damn, what do you do?" Huang Niu's voice became louder, and he looked around for a moment. Soon, several young men dressed in the same way came over.

"What's wrong? What do you do for a living?"

"Get out of here if you know what's best for you."

Several scalpers gestured and surrounded Wu Changyun, Fushun, and Huang Bingyao. Seeing this, Fushun just chuckled and said, "Old Huang, it's okay, it's just a small scene."
