"Wu Changyun, I'm here to play with you." Yuan Aijia, wearing a slip dress and barefoot, rushed into the room. Chen Sisi followed behind, hanging his windbreaker on the hanger.
"This isn't the person from the cinema..."
Fu Shun had never met Chen Sisi since he last met her in the imperial capital.
"Why are you here?" Wu Changyun looked up and saw Yuan Aijia smiling at him foolishly.
"Why can't I come? I happened to be with my third sister, so I came over. We are very good friends in private."
Yuan Aijia's words made Chen Sisi laugh so hard that he couldn't stop. The three of them sat on the sofa, each minding their own business. At first glance, not only Wu Changyun was barefoot, but so was Yuan Aijia. If you didn't know better, you would have thought that both of them were the owners of the house.
"But why did you pick such a place? I like it very much. The yard is bigger than Grandpa's house."
"Okay, come play often if you like."
"Yes, I will." Yuan Aijia nodded without any hesitation.
Wu Changyun handed the script to Chen Sisi. She glanced at the very beginning, then frowned, looking uneasy. On the other hand, Yuan Aijia repeatedly proofread many parts with Wu Changyun, including the character's psychology and the audience's perspective.
"I'm afraid we can't use this script."
Chen Sisi loosened his grip, and the script drawing board he was holding was snatched away by Yuan Aijia.
Wu Changyun sat up straight, took out two cans of soda from the refrigerator and handed them to the two men.
"This story is good, but the subject matter does not meet the requirements of our company. Even if I say yes here, this script will not be adopted." Chen Sisi sighed and said. She has never regarded Wu Changyun simply as a businessman, and she also hoped from the bottom of her heart to have a pleasant cooperation with the other party, but this matter is really not negotiable.
"Okay." Wu Changyun nodded. If he gave the script to Golden Harvest or Shaw Brothers, it might sell for a good price.
Seeing that Yuan Aijia was still holding the script, Wu Changyun didn't feel comfortable going forward to snatch it away. This guy looked like he wanted to study every plot in the script thoroughly.
"In that case, let's play cards."
Wu Changyun took out a box of cards from the drawer and said to the other three people.
"Sure, I wonder if the two ladies have time."
Chen Sisi agreed with a wry smile, recalling how she had painstakingly rushed through the filming, only to arrive just to play cards. Every day, she had to deal with a packed schedule arranged by her agent. Especially since her eldest sister, Xia Meng, was reluctant to appear in any commercials, this led to many collaborations being sought out by Shi Hui and herself.
"You guys play first." Yuan Aijia sent the three away, and then he lay on the sofa and stared at the script on the drawing board.
Yuan Aijia had just returned to Hong Kong, and besides the Mandarin films her grandfather had sent her, her primary interests lay in foreign blockbusters. This script, unlike the current landscape of Hong Kong cinema, combined horror, suspense, and heartwarming moments. The suspense permeated the film, the horror provided a sensory thrill, and the ending was filled with a heartwarming twist. Yuan Aijia remarked that among all the screenwriters she knew, no other had combined these three elements so perfectly.
"I originally thought you were just a filmmaker, but I didn't expect you were also a genius at writing scripts." Yuan Aijia murmured.
The three people present were all staring at Yuan Aijia in shock. She was sitting with her feet crossed and speaking with a serious face, which made everyone feel abnormal.
"I won't let you sell this script to anyone else. I've bought it." Yuan Aijia took the script off the drawing board.
Wu Changyun pointed at the two of them with a puzzled look on his face and asked, "Aren't you guys together?"
"Of course not. I bought this script in my own name, Yuan Aijia. Don't worry, I will give you a reasonable price." Yuan Aijia patted her chest and guaranteed that this script would definitely sell well in the global market. Yuan Aijia also has an advantage over Wu Changyun, that is, her friends overseas.
"And you, I want to buy it too. Name your price." Yuan Aijia said, standing on the sofa and pointing at Wu Changyun.
"You can't sign a contract to sell yourself now. You are obviously an irrational venture capitalist, hahaha." Wu Changyun glanced at Yuan Aiga and agreed casually. He didn't doubt that Yuan Aiga was short of money.
Yuan Aijia showed an embarrassed expression. Compared to Wu Changyun's jokes, her witty thinking was consistent throughout. If possible, she really wanted to buy Wu Changyun, but what would she do after buying him? After a brief thought, Yuan Aijia said to herself: "Make money for me, raise horses for me, write scripts for me every day, and write a travelogue of my experiences traveling around the world!"
"Okay, okay, come over and play cards."
Wu Changyun slapped the table. Yuan Aijia hopped a few steps on the sofa and plopped down in a chair. The four of them played a pleasant game of cards for a while. No one had much desire for the usual money at the table, so the punishment for losing was to post a white slip. Unexpectedly, by the end of the game, Chen Sisi's face was covered with white slips, almost completely obscuring it, while Wu Changyun and Yuan Aijia remained undefeated. Since Wu Changyun's time travel, he felt that his way of thinking had changed. Perhaps it was the growth he had gained from putting his dreams into practice.
While the four were fighting fiercely, at the entrance of the hospital where Wen Jing's mother worked, a group of people blocked Wen Jing's way and took her into a Buick car.
"We finally caught this girl. Would you like to smoke, Brother Jun?" The bald man driving the car looked back at Wen Jing's appearance, then turned around and handed a cigarette to Ma Jun in the passenger seat.
"Fire." Ma Jun said.
