"What's wrong with you guys?" Wu Changyun didn't give any face to these seniors who lacked martial ethics.
The owners of four nearby fast food and cold drink shops are all here. The leader is the man who came in first. Everyone calls him Boss Wang. Boss Wang started out selling silk stocking milk tea in his early years. He worked his way up from a street vendor at the corner of an alley to the shop owner he is today. Seventeen years have passed.
"If we talk about seniority and age here, you have to call us uncle." Boss Wang said disdainfully.
"I'm giving you face, right?" Chang Sihu raised his hand to hit him, but was stopped by Wu Changyun.
"You are all here today to discuss business. If you want to rank people based on seniority, I will not accompany you. Let Boss Chang continue talking to you. As for you, you have to come with me to the police station." Wu Changyun pointed at Boss Wang and said.
"Don't hurt the relationship. I recognize you. You are Chen Feng." Boss Huang next to him echoed.
Wu Changyun sighed. Why did everyone only remember the role he played? Besides, how could there be any harmony between them?
"If I had known you were a celebrity, we wouldn't have made such a fuss."
"What's wrong with being a celebrity? Just because you're a celebrity, you can't follow the rules? Be careful or I'll report you to the news agency." Boss Wang continued to be stubborn.
"Okay, what are you all here for today?" Wu Changyun felt a headache. This group of people have been bosses for more than ten years, and they all speak in a very unreasonable way.
"We have run our shop for more than ten years and have always been in harmony. Just like me and Lao Huang, my main signature dish is dessert and milk tea, while Lao Huang's specializes in pasta and fruit tea. We have set rules for both pricing and time. But you guys came and worked from 6:30 in the morning to midnight, and sometimes we don't close until 2 or 3 in the morning. Now all the young people have gone to your place. How can we do business?" Boss Wang said aggressively.
"If I can't stand you selling fried chicken, then why not? Who's stopping you?" Fushun said with a sneer.
"Huh? We're selling fried chicken? It's none of your business if we, the old guys, sell fried chicken together."
"We are reluctant to give up our craftsmanship that has been cultivated for more than ten years, and we still have many old customers." Boss Huang murmured.
After several rounds of back-and-forth, Wu Changyun finally understood the situation. These owners saw the potential for profit in new ventures, but were reluctant to risk their capital and switch businesses, so they came here to cause trouble for him. He simply couldn't believe that these four fast food and cold drink shops had been harmonious before Chang Sihu arrived. That was impossible. It was only now that Wu Changyun had touched upon their shared livelihoods, threatening to destroy their very existence, that they were united in their attack.
"Boss Wu, let me make it clear to you. In terms of strength, if several of us join forces to fight yours, you'd better think about it and see who will survive." Boss Wang continued.
"After all this talk, what do you want?"
"We demand that from now on, your store can only be open after 2 pm. As for what time in the evening? We won't worry about it for now. As long as you agree, there will be a place for you on this street. No matter whose new store opens in the future, we will continue to be united in our external relations." Boss Wang looked somewhat proud. They had dealt with countless merchants on this street. When it came to business methods, they had countless ways to make a store go bankrupt.
Wu Changyun thought about it calmly. Judging from Boss Wang's tone, he didn't sound like the owner of a simple small shop. Especially the submissive attitudes of the other three shops. Could it be that there was a catering company behind him?
Wu Changyun was unaware of the restaurant business. Currently, American fast food restaurants rely on logistics, ingredients, and customers—three areas where external forces could intervene. Wu Changyun wasn't worried about logistics; all he needed was a truck and people. However, ingredients depended on the market, and there was no guarantee that the other party wouldn't leverage connections and manipulate the market. These veteran businessmen were cunning and sly, and if they resorted to trickery, it would be a real headache. Especially someone like Chang Sihu, who could get so angry at just a few words that he slammed the table, was too naive.
"I understand what you mean. Opening a store at two o'clock in the afternoon is ridiculous. It's totally out of this world and really funny." Wu Changyun said clearly.
"Come on, isn't it just to grab business? Come on, let me see how capable you are."
"Ability? You are probably a newborn calf who is not afraid of a tiger. You are so brave." Boss Wang said this harshly and prepared to take a sullen stand.
"Boss Wu, you are too stubborn. You just opened your business. We have accumulated old customers on this street for more than ten years. We can sell what you sell. When a fight breaks out, how can one company defeat the four of us? As long as the four of us open your business and do some low-price promotions, you have only been here for a short time. New customers only recognize the products and not the store. Boss Wu, you have to think it over carefully." Boss Huang persuaded earnestly.
"If you really had clear minds, you wouldn't have given me the upper hand. Don't bother with this. You'll end up in a coffin when you're old. Don't say I didn't warn you then. Goodbye."
Wu Changyun saluted and the four bosses left with unhappy expressions. It was dark after all this trouble.
Chang Sihu knew that Wu Changyun was not the kind of person who would compromise, but now that he was in charge of everything here, he really felt powerless.
"Brother Yun, what should we do?"
"What should I do? As the owner of so many stores, can you panic? There will be more and more such things in the future. Even if people don't come to your door, they will secretly make trouble for you." Wu Changyun was a little angry. Others came to his door, and the knife was against his teeth, but he didn't bite.
Seeing that Wu Changyun was very angry, Chang Sihu didn't dare to say anything more.
