Chapter 5 The First Reward

"Hey, Superintendent Henry, what a coincidence."

Zhuyouzai came over from the crowd and greeted Henry proactively as if they had a good relationship.

Henry was naturally familiar with Zhuyouzai. Zhuyouzai always brought money with him when he appeared.

"Boss, harmony brings wealth." Zhuyouzi smiled innocently, looked at the water stain on Henry's sister's skirt, pretended to be surprised and continued: "What's going on? A family encountering such a thing must be a bit upset."

After saying that, Zhuyouzi pulled Henry into the teahouse, and the farce finally calmed down.

Henry had come here on purpose to cause trouble, but he didn't expect to meet a young boy who wasn't afraid of him at all, which made him feel a little embarrassed.

"Boss, he's acting like he's jumping from the second floor three times." Zhuyouzi pointed to the side of his head and added, "He's a desperate man. Why would you bother with him?"

Henry accepted the money and got what he wanted. When he walked out of the teahouse, he said to Wu Changyun, "I'll remember you. Don't let me run into you again."

Wu Changyun licked his lips, thinking that the other party didn't have many good days left. The Independent Commission Against Corruption in Hong Kong would be established next year, and people like him would definitely go back to England.

Just then, Zhuyouzai came over after seeing Henry off and patted Wu Changyun on the shoulder.

"You're in good health, kid." After saying that, she took out three hundred-yuan bills from her handbag and stuffed them into Wu Changyun's hand.

"Well, how can I take your money?" Wu Changyun wanted to refuse. He didn't even know the fat man in front of him.

"Brother Zai." The director next to him was about to come over.

Zhuyouzai spread out his palms to signal him to stop. Only then did Wu Changyun realize that the fat man in front of him must have a deep relationship with the crew, so he stopped refusing the three hundred yuan.

"Do your best. I'm counting on you."

When Zhuyouzai saw Wu Changyun took the money, he didn't stay for long.

Wu Changyun looked at the three hundred yuan in his hand, feeling a mixture of emotions. On the one hand, he was grateful for the fat man's generosity, but on the other hand, he felt that since he had accepted money, he had to play his cards right. Wu Changyun lamented the world where a rich man could only spend a tiny amount, leaving countless poor people to work tirelessly for it. Although he understood this truth, he couldn't escape this fate.

After two more takes, the stunt double scene finally came to an end. Wu Changyun's feet, legs, and back were covered in bruises and wounds, and the slightest movement would cause him to grimace in pain.

After returning to the martial arts studio, he was immediately met by Fu Shun who was practicing martial arts as soon as he entered the door.

"You're back. How are you today?" Fushun came over and looked Wu Changyun up and down. He didn't seem to have changed much.

"It went pretty smoothly." Although Wu Changyun encountered some unpleasant things, the result was good.

Wu Changyun took out a hundred yuan from his pocket and handed it to Fushun, saying quietly, "I still owe you four hundred."

Fushun lowered his head in a daze for a long time, and carefully examined the hundred-yuan bill for a long time before he realized that Wu Changyun had made money by making movies.

"Liuzi, you can earn so much in just one day?"

Wu Changyun remembered the joke he had made with Fushun before, so he answered readily, "Five hundred in total."

"Five hundred? What the hell is that?"

Seeing that Fushun didn't believe him, Wu Changyun took out the remaining four hundred-yuan bills from his trouser pocket.

"Damn, you must have robbed a bank, there's so much money." Fushun grinned as soon as he saw the money.

"Okay, don't make a fuss. I still have to go find my master." Wu Changyun said and walked towards his master's room, but Fu Shun grabbed him and said, "No, you can't go find your master like this."

"What's wrong?"

"If Master knew that being a stunt double was so profitable, he would have sent all the brothers to do it. What would we brothers do then?"

"That shouldn't happen," Wu Changyun pondered. He'd only earned 180 yuan today, thanks to a generous fat man. Furthermore, Wu Changyun had years of experience as a stunt double for dangerous actions. He knew how to make the moves look good without injuring himself. Without that experience, an average person would probably fall two or three times and end up with a broken head from misjudging the distance.

When Fushun learned that Wu Changyun had jumped five times from the second floor, his jaw almost dropped to the ground. He spread out five fingers and stammered towards Wu Changyun, "You, you are an iron man, but you have already broken into pieces."

Wu Changyun came to the master's room and told the master the whole story. Wu Changyun took out three hundred yuan and gave it to the master.

"What are you doing?" The master was so angry that he blew his beard and glared.

"Master, without your introduction and years of cultivation, it would not be my turn to earn this money. This money should rightfully be used as a filial piety to you, Master." Wu Changyun knelt on the ground, and when he saw that his master did not take it, he put the money on the coffee table.

The master didn't say anything for a long while. He just looked at the banknotes on the coffee table thoughtfully. His expression was complicated and he didn't show any joy at all. He waved his hand and said, "You go first."

Wu Changyun was a little confused. After hesitating for a moment, he could only answer, "Yes, Master."

As soon as he left his master's room, Wu Changyun seemed to understand something. With his master's qualifications and the resources under his command, someone must have approached his master during the time when action movies were popular, but he must have been rejected by his master.

"Times are irreversible." Wu Changyun sighed in his heart. He could somewhat understand his master's thoughts. When the disciple he had trained for many years worked as a stand-in outside and gave the money he earned to him, the master probably understood the origin of this sentence.

"What's wrong? Did you upset the master?"

"It shouldn't be that serious." Wu Changyun replied with a helpless smile.

"Who knows? We've done what needs to be done."

"I gave the master 300 yuan, and there is still 100 yuan left. It's not bad. I can earn it back in two days. Can you find a way for me to bring it to me as well?" Fushun asked expectantly.

"I think you should tell the master first and stop making him angry."

"How could I not understand this bit of social etiquette?"

Seeing Fushun's carefree look, Wu Changyun was no longer worried about this guy. Thinking of this, Wu Changyun suddenly had an idea.

"Let's go take a bath. I'll treat you." Wu Changyun said with a smile.

"Now?"

"Now."

The two men looked at the height of the courtyard wall, then climbed out one after another, and left the martial arts compound with an indescribable sense of joy. The streets were full of vendors selling snacks. Now the two men were considered rich. Although most of the money was given to their master, the two hundred yuan was enough for them to live a carefree life for a while.

"Two whole skewers?"

"Give me ten skewers." Wu Changyun seemed to be rich and powerful for a while.

"Liuzi has achieved success now and looks like a rich man."

The two of them burst into laughter, ate skewers for half a day, then took a hot bath, and didn't go back until dawn.
