Wu Changyun paced back and forth barefoot in front of the glass wall, smiling and worried. Fu Shun leaned on his head and looked at Wu Changyun and said, "He's going crazy again."
"Has he had this problem before?" Yuan Aijia kept stuffing snacks into his mouth.
"You two are really a pair. One of you becomes obsessed from time to time whenever movies are mentioned, and the other one is a virgin who runs to other men's houses all day long." Fushun glanced at Yuan Aiga.
"What do you know? This is called freedom and democracy."
"Don't bring up the American tricks here. Back then, the Eight-Nation Alliance..."
"You want to teach me history? We should also learn from other people's good points." Yuan Aijia rolled his eyes at Fushun. Both of them looked down on each other.
"What's so good about Wu Changyun? You guys are all just a little more handsome and a little taller than me, at most two fingers, no more." Fushun gestured with his fingers.
"What's wrong? Are you jealous?"
"Okay, you're going to outwit me, girl. I'm not going to talk to you any more. Want something to drink? You look so salty."
"I want a soda."
Fu Shun couldn't argue with Yuan Aijia, so he could only obediently hand her a bottle of soda.
Wu Changyun received two invitations today, one from Golden Harvest and the other from Shaw Brothers. He laughed and said that the title of the film sent to him by Shaw Brothers was "The Twins of Jin Ping". Wu Changyun had heard of this film a long time ago. He had always been curious about how this kind of film was released in theaters and later achieved the fourth place in Hong Kong box office.
The worry is because of Golden Harvest's "Once Upon a Time in China: Shaolin Kung Fu", which achieved half the box office performance of the former. Sammo Hung was only one of the supporting actors in the film, while the actor who played Wong Fei Hung was Kwan Tak-hing, who was already 69 years old.
Speaking of Kwan Tak-hing, he is a prominent figure in Hong Kong. The famous "Po Chi Lam" pharmacy in Hong Kong is an industry under Kwan Tak-hing's name. Whether in movies or any other aspect of his career, he is a big brother of his generation, far beyond the reach of newcomers like Wu Changyun.
"The Golden Lotus? They really found me a good play that will exhaust my energy and lose my moral integrity." Wu Changyun muttered to himself.
Yuan Aijia spit out a mouthful of soda when he heard the name and asked in surprise, "What? You're going to be the leading actor in a pornographic movie?"
"What? What explicit movie?" Fushun was still confused.
"Go away, don't join in the fun." Wu Changyun waved his hands.
"I think you're great, and have a lot of potential."
"What are you doing here so early in the morning?" Wu Changyun didn't have time to deal with Yuan Aiga. The girl just sat there eating snacks, and in half a day, garbage was piled up on the table.
"I'm looking for you to go to the movies."
"What movie?"
"A horror movie." Yuan Aijia answered frankly.
Wu Changyun looked at Yuan Ajia's calves exposed under her dress, her delicate ankles, her long black hair flowing over her shoulders, and the curve above her collarbone vaguely visible.
"Fushun, if you have nothing to do today, just stay at home and look after the house. Yuan Aijia and I are going out for a while."
"Great." Yuan Aijia cheered with her feet up.
"Aren't you going to inspect Chang Sihu's store today?"
"Let's do it another day." Wu Changyun said casually.
Wu Changyun drove the Camaro with Yuan Aijia to an industrial complex and entered a small cinema. The staff there knew Yuan Aijia well, so they left with the key to the screening room and left. This was also the first time Wu Changyun had been behind the screen, seeing reels of film labeled with various names.
Yuan Aijia was bending over to look for negatives when she suddenly felt someone's hand around her belly. She was stunned for a moment and jokingly said, "Stop it."
The feeling on her abdomen did not disappear. Yuan Aijia frowned and turned around, and saw Wu Changyun holding an iron rod with a rubber hand on it.
"Does it look like a ghost hand from a horror movie? A ghost is trying to take advantage of you."
Yuan Aijia blushed with embarrassment. If it were someone else, she would be angry and even kick the other person out, but in front of Wu Changyun, she could lose anything but her face.
"Boring! I think there are people who have evil intentions but no courage." Yuan Aijia put her hands on her hips and looked at Wu Changyun with a smug look on her face. Everyone here was her acquaintance.
"I heard the screening room is very soundproof. Is that true?"
Wu Changyun didn't dislike a mischievous girl like Yuan Ajia. He came from the 21st century and was much more open-minded about men and women than people today. He immediately pulled Yuan Ajia in his arms, lowered his head, and looked at her under her smooth forehead. Her bright eyes stared at him like a deer.
"Do you need me to lift my feet?" Yuan Aijia said stubbornly.
Wu Changyun hugged her harder, and this time Yuan Aijia leaned closer to his arms, and her toes unconsciously lifted slightly, barely reaching Wu Changyun's face.
"Miss? Are the machines in the projection room working properly? Do you need any help?"
At this time, the two were interrupted by the shouts of the staff from outside.
Yuan Aijia quickly broke free, straightened the corner of his clothes, poked his head out and said to the staff, "No need, I can handle it."
Wu Changyun followed behind Yuan Aijia. The two of them sat in the first row to watch the movie "Yin Yang Realm". The screen flickered and the movie began with the sound of a desolate wind. Yuan Aijia sat on the chair with her arms around her calves, staring at Wu Changyun's profile. Her heart was beating rapidly, and she was still in shock from what had just happened.
"Do you often watch foreign horror movies?"
“Well, I guess I have seen it.”
Wu Changyun said modestly. After all, considering his current life trajectory, talking too much could easily lead to problems.
As the movie played, Yuan Aijia huddled up with her calves in her arms. In Wu Changyun's opinion, Hong Kong horror movies in the 1970s were still at a relatively rudimentary level. On the one hand, they relied on the audience's curiosity about rural legends or weird stories. On the other hand, a large part of the audience was frightened by the scary music and the sudden appearance of actors in makeup. After all, even in real life, a thief appearing behind you when walking on the street at night is scary enough.
