"I am indeed not interested in TVB, but the actors who take the art exam." Thinking of this, Wu Changyun couldn't help but smile. If he had the chance, he would also take an art exam.
TVB's inherent advantage is its broadcasting system that covers the entire population. Wu Changyun doesn't have that much money, and even if he has the funds and strength, he can't accomplish this.
"Then I'll go back and tell the principal. You can't go back on your word or you'll embarrass me."
"Well, no." Wu Changyun agreed readily.
Du Qifeng brought the news back. Originally, Zhong Jinghui was very cautious about this choice. He always felt that it would be a bit embarrassing to let a currently popular director come to TVB to teach.
"Let me think about this matter again. There are many excellent directors in the station, and everyone is willing to give it a try." Zhong Jinghui said while sitting behind his desk.
Du Qifeng felt annoyed when he heard his tone.
So Zhong Shaobing followed in out of curiosity.
"Dad, stop bluffing. Who in the Lunar New Year period has the time to teach students with you every day? Otherwise, they wouldn't let a stage play actor like you be the principal." Zhong Shaobing spoke without thinking.
"You, I became the principal because I'm a member of the Drama Association..."
"I know, you came here because your uncle asked someone to ask you, right?" Zhong Shaobing spread his hands. He was familiar with this. We were all family, so there was no need to beat around the bush.
"Then Xiao Du is also trying to find a solution for you."
"What did you call him?"
"Xiao, Xiao Du." Zhong Shaobing said hesitantly.
In fact, Du Qifeng is two years older than Zhong Shaobing, but because of his father-son relationship with Zhong Jinghui, many people at work are accustomed to calling Zhong Shaobing "Brother Bing".
"I've told you so many times that you are not allowed to take advantage of me being your father and use special titles at work." Zhong Jinghui roared angrily.
Zhong Shaobing also felt wronged. Could he be blamed for this? Zhong Shaobing was usually very enthusiastic towards his colleagues. Why did they call him Brother Bing just to curry favor with him?
The two father and son were bound to quarrel when they met, and Du Qifeng didn't want to continue arguing with them.
A few days later, Wu Changyun was invited to the opening ceremony of the artist training class to meet with the students.
As soon as he entered the room, Wu Changyun saw Zhong Jinghui and Du Qifeng waiting at the door.
Wu Changyun also noticed that most of the people coming today were TVB's own directors, and he, as a mentor, had more of a guest feel.
"Sorry for waiting, Director Wu."
"You're so polite! I'd like to trouble you, the president, to come out and greet me personally." Wu Changyun took over the conversation politely.
"No, let's go in."
Following Zhong Jinghui all the way, Wu Changyun unexpectedly saw Wang Tianlin in the crowd. Now Wang Tianlin is no less popular in TVB than his son.
Wang Tianlin's most talked-about work at the moment is undoubtedly his 1959 film "All's Well, Ends Well". Wu Changyun walked past them. Here, Wu Changyun felt a big difference from the previous dinner. Although it cannot be said that he was ignored, Wu Changyun's TVB attention was indeed much less.
Television and movies are two competing industries. Before the advent of television, people had to go to the cinema if they wanted to watch a TV show. With the advent of television, there was one more option.
Although TV stations are not free, people spend more time watching TV at home compared to the programs available and the convenience.
"The academy will be on the stage soon. Since you are your specially invited tutor, we have reserved a seat for you in the middle." Zhong Jinghui pointed to a row of seats facing the stage below.
"It's not appropriate for me to sit in the middle," Wu Changyun asked.
"It's okay, you're from outside, this is our sincerity."
Wu Changyun smiled politely, and then Zhong Jinghui went to greet the later guests, leaving only Du Qifeng to entertain Wu Changyun.
"How is it? What does it feel like here?"
"Very disciplined." Wu Changyun said with a smile, but his words hinted at something.
He was an outsider but he could sit among the mentors. Wu Changyun knew that there were very clear factions in TVB. There was a certain degree of competition between the various channels. In addition, directors like Wang Tianlin and Li Tiansheng were very eager to attract viewers. The works shot by directors of their level would have very high ratings no matter which channel they were broadcast on.
There is also the currently popular Li Yingquan. Every costume drama with her in it becomes a hit.
Now Li Yingquan is also the most popular actress in TVB. She also serves as the vice president of the Film Association and the former president of the Business Association.
Li Yingquan is undoubtedly the one who can make a name for himself in both the film and television industry and as a business tycoon.
"What? You look reluctant?" Wu Changyun joked with Du Qifeng when he saw his nervous expression.
"Can't bear to do it? How could that be?" Du Qifeng answered decisively.
"Okay, everyone is seated, you go and get busy." Wu Changyun sent Du Qifeng away and sat directly in the middle seat. On both sides of Wu Changyun were Wang Tianlin and Li Tiansheng, the two consultants of this training class.
When people outside saw the seating arrangement, they all started talking about it.
"Who put that outsider in the middle anyway?"
"I don't know."
In fact, Wang Tianlin and Li Tiansheng have a good relationship in private. Both of them are quite talented. Wu Changyun is most familiar with the 1997 version of "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils" of Li Tiansheng's works, which is the version with the BGM when Qiao Feng appears. It can be said to be a classic among classics.
Although Li Tiansheng is better known for his later works, he had already demonstrated his outstanding abilities in the 1970s.
"Zhong Jinghui invited you here, right?" Wang Tianlin asked Wu Changyun with a smile.
