"Something happened at home, so I'm taking a leave."
Liu Wen showed a concerned expression on his face and asked a series of questions, "Is there an accident? Is it serious? Do you need my help?"
"No need for your help, everything is fine." Li Xu smiled and waved his hand, "I came to see you for something else."
"Okay, I'll make you a cup of tea and we can talk while we drink."
Seeing Liu Wen take out an oil-paper bag from under the table, Li Xu quickly said, "Uncle Liu, no need to bother. Just a few words, and I'll be leaving after that."
"Really not drinking?"
"I really don't want to drink. My grandpa and the others are still at home."
Hearing this, Liu Wen stopped insisting, but still joked, "You don't want to drink this, don't say I'm stingy."
"That can't be." Li Xu chuckled, then closed the door and asked in a low voice, "Uncle Liu, do you have any idea about your troubles?"
"Hmm?" Liu Wen was stunned for a moment, then his expression instantly became excited. "Xiao Xu, do you have an idea?"
Li Xu nodded and explained the situation in detail.
After listening to this, Liu Wen's face turned pale, he clenched his fists, gritted his teeth and asked, "Xiao Xu, are you sure what you said is true?"
"Sure."
After receiving a positive response, Liu Wen could no longer hold back. He slammed the table and roared, "These bastards, what do they think of us? Just tools in their hands, to be manipulated as they please? And what about the local team leader? What is he for, to allow these people to act so recklessly?"
He grew increasingly angry as he spoke. He quickly walked to the door, flung it open, and said to the people drawn in by the commotion, "Go, notify all the leaders and have them drop what they're doing and go to the conference room for the meeting."
The people outside the door responded and then quickly dispersed.
Seeing him like this, Li Xu quickly brought his tea over and advised him kindly, "Uncle Liu, drink some water to calm down. Your body is your own, don't let it get to you."
You have to know that Liu Wen is the person in charge of assessing class composition. If this is done by those people, what will happen to his reputation?
It's bad enough that the people above him make him take the blame, but those thugs below him also make him take the blame. Who can stand this?
Moreover, those people were simply using him and the county government as pawns. This behavior was undoubtedly a provocation to the government's authority.
So Li Xu felt that Liu Wen’s anger was just the beginning, and when other county leaders heard about this, they would probably become furious.
Liu Wen took the cup and drank all the water in it in one breath, and the anger in his heart eased a little.
"Xiao Xu, if there's nothing else, please go back first. I need to discuss this with other leaders."
Li Xu acted as if he was about to speak, but soon he made up his mind and said directly, "Uncle Liu, I don't think this matter has anything to do with the captain. Besides, from what I know, the captain is a good person."
The captain of the Qinghe Brigade has a good relationship with the Li family, and a few months ago, Li Xu did him another favor.
If the other party steps down because of this incident, then Li Xu's favor will be wasted.
Most importantly, Li Xu cannot guarantee that the next captain will have such a close relationship with the Li family.
Besides, this matter really cannot be blamed on the captain.
How can he stop someone from having bad intentions?
Only when those people get things done can he have an unshirkable responsibility.
Liu Wen was stunned. "Are you related to that captain?"
"He takes good care of my second uncle's family."
After thinking for a moment, Liu Wen said thoughtfully, "If he wasn't involved, you can let him go. If he was, don't blame Uncle Liu for being unkind."
Li Xu laughed immediately, "If he had a share, I'd love for you to deal with him."
After they finished talking, they both walked out.
afternoon.
Li Xu and others were catching up on their sleep at home, but the Qinghe Brigade on the other side was extremely lively.
I saw a group of people with gloomy faces, led by villagers, heading to different courtyards.
Liu Wen was also among them.
He followed the captain to a courtyard and saw that the gate was closed. He asked someone to kick the door open and then led everyone in.
As soon as I reached the main hall door, I saw a middle-aged man coming out of the thatched hut next to me, cursing, "Damn it, are you blind? Didn't you see the door was closed?"
Liu Wen ignored him and asked the captain, "Is it him?"
"It's him."
Liu Wen nodded, had the middle-aged man tied up and thrown aside, and then directed people to search the house.
Seeing this, the tied man began to struggle violently and wanted to shout loudly, but he couldn't shout and could only make a whimpering sound.
It didn't take long before the house was searched.
There were three more things in front of Liu Wen: a painting, a gold bracelet and a gold lock.
After looking at it for a moment, he couldn't help but smile playfully and asked the man, "Can you tell me where these things came from?"
Seeing him asking questions, someone came forward and took the thing out of the man's mouth.
The man first spat a few times on the ground, then glared at Liu Wen with wide eyes and shouted, "This was passed down from my ancestors."
Liu Wen chuckled, "If I remember correctly, your ancestors for three generations were all poor farmers, right? How did they pass it down?"
"It's none of your business."
Seeing that he still dared to be stubborn, Liu Wen's face turned cold, "You will soon find out whether I can control it or not."
Then he said to his entourage, "Remember these things and change his class status to landlord tomorrow."
Upon hearing this, the man's expression changed drastically, and he hurriedly shouted, "You can't change. I am a poor peasant, and my ancestors have been poor peasants for generations. If you don't believe me, you can ask the team leader and the villagers."
