Chapter 66 Meeting an acquaintance in the hospital

Qiuhua came to the hospital with a few white steamed buns and a lunch box of wontons.

Mom and the others took Xiaohua to the hospital, while Qiuhua sat at home feeling uneasy and blaming herself.

She was the one who took Xiaohua to pick mulberries. Xiaohua kept eating them, and his sister ignored him. He was in pain all night and had no reaction at all, like a dead person.

She cried bitterly at home, but she was still worried after thinking about it. Her mother and father had empty stomachs when they went out, and they must be very hungry now.

When she left, she did not forget to put five dollars in her pocket. This was the money she had saved. She wanted to buy some steamed buns and a bowl of wontons for Xiaohua, so that she would feel better.

When she arrived, it was almost noon and everyone was so hungry that they felt dizzy. Sun Ada stood up and wanted to go out to buy some food. When she reached the hospital door, she felt her pocket and realized that she had left in such a hurry that she didn't bring any money.

I feel dizzy!

"Uncle!"

A clear shout, Sun Ada was very familiar with it, isn't this Qiuhua!

Xiao Niangyu was holding a lunch box in her arms and a bag of white steamed buns in one hand. Sun Ada's throat suddenly turned and he almost drooled.

"Qiuhua, how did you get here? Come over here?"

Qiuhua nodded, and Sun Ada reached out to take the lunch box. Oh my god, this is going to burn his hand!

"Qiuhua, what's so hot in here?"

He was so burned that he switched hands, but couldn't hold on for a while before switching back again, and kept coughing.

It’s really hard for this little mermaid to hold such a hot thing in her arms!

"I bought a bowl of wontons on the street and poured it into the lunch box." Qiuhua followed Sun Ada to the hospital, and said anxiously, "Xiaohua has never tasted wontons sold on the street. I will buy him a bowl."

Sun Ada listened to her and his heart trembled. Xiao Niangyu was too sensible. If he had a daughter like her, he would not trade her even if someone built a house for her.

Xiaohua woke up now, and his stomach started to growl as he felt better. The doctor told him to eat less, so Qiuhua fed him three wontons, but he smacked his mouth but still felt he was not full.

"Sister, I want to eat more. I'm hungry..."

As he said that, he started to rummage through the lunch box. Qiuhua put the lunch box away and said he would not give it to him no matter what.

Qiuhua blamed herself completely for the incident, and now she had to take good care of Xiaohua no matter what.

Xiaohua was a child with a very unfortunate life. When his mother gave birth to him, his whole body turned yellow the next day. He refused to drink milk and just slept. Everyone thought he would not survive, but he gradually recovered.

When he was two years old, he fell into the well again in the winter. His family searched the whole village for him. Finally, when Xu Haopo went to the well to draw water, she found a person floating on the surface.

Fortunately, it was winter and the torn cotton jacket saved his life.

The fortune teller said that the baby will take root at the age of three, but now he is five years old and has suffered another disaster.

Mom and Dad never blamed Qiuhua from beginning to end, nor did they mention a single word about Sangzi. How could they not know what their own daughter was like? Xiao Niangyu must have been upset, so why did she bring it up?

"Sister..."

Xiaohua's two big eyes rolled around. Although he didn't have much flesh on his body, his face was chubby. After eating three wontons, his complexion looked much better.

"I can't eat anymore. My stomach hurts again if I eat more."

Seeing that her elder sister refused, Xiaohua burst into tears and hung down her chin, which made her mother laugh out of anger.

Just as he was about to make a noise, the nurse came in to change the bottle. The little guy immediately wilted, nestled in his mother's arms, and secretly glanced out.

"Let me see whoever disobeys me. I'm going to prick him with a needle."

Xiaohua was shocked when he heard this and never dared to mention eating wontons again. He watched helplessly as his mother ate two, his father ate two, and the rest went into his sister's stomach.

Xiaohua will stay in the hospital for two nights. His mother will accompany him on the first night, and Qiuhua and his father will accompany him on the second night.

There were always sporadic noises in the hospital at night, and Qiuhua knew she wouldn't be able to sleep well, so she simply brought a hand embroidery bandage. This is a circular embroidery tool that can be held in the hand while embroidering. It is small and easy to carry, especially suitable for embroidering small items such as handkerchiefs.

The master asked Qiuhua to practice acupuncture every day when she was not in Tahe, so he gave her this hand bandage.

With this round hand band, Qiuhua would practice a few stitches whenever she had a little free time. Xiaohua ran around the hospital during the day and fell asleep due to exhaustion. Now there were lights in the hospital corridor, which were much brighter than the kerosene lamps at home, so she embroidered carefully in the light.

Occasionally, when someone walked past her, they would always look down to see what this little mermaid was doing.

As long as you see it, you will be amazed.

On the small round embroidery frame was a dancing butterfly. The smooth and flat embroidery surface shone brightly under the incandescent light. After Qiuhua finished the last stitch and added two small stitches, the handkerchief was finished.

"Little girl, what are you embroidering?"

Qiuhua looked up and saw an old father (grandfather) with white hair, who was looking at her with a cane.

The old man's accent was different from theirs. He spoke in a very elegant manner. Although his hair was white, it was combed meticulously, unlike the other old men in the village whose hair and beards were messy.

Qiuhua was a little embarrassed. She clenched her handband tightly with both hands and said, "I'm embroidering a butterfly."

"Can you show me?"

The old man was very polite. Qiuhua handed him the embroidery frame and secretly observed him, thinking that this man must be someone of status, judging by his old but meticulously dressed Zhongshan suit.

"Why are you here?"

Qiuhua turned around and saw the pale and thin boy who liked to study iron smelting standing behind him.

"Wu Xin?"

"Do you know each other?" The old man looked kind.

"She's my classmate." Wu Xin came over and introduced, "This is... my father..."

Qiuhua blinked and suddenly smiled shyly. She thought Wu Xin was very strange and spoke hesitantly.

The old man didn't seem to mind. He nodded and looked carefully at the embroidery in his hand, with appreciation in his eyes.

"I'm a bit thick-skinned, so I'd like to ask Xiao Niangyu for this piece of embroidery. Is that okay?"

Wu Xin showed a surprised expression, but Qiuhua was not embarrassed at all. This was originally given by her master to practice with, and it was not a valuable thing.

"Here's a handkerchief. Take it if you like, Dad."

After saying that, she took the handkerchief and gently broke it. The two wooden rings were separated and the handkerchief could be taken off.

The old man took the handkerchief, folded it carefully and put it in his pocket.

At this moment, a man came in from outside and said to the old man, "Teacher, it's time to go."

He nodded slowly and wanted to reach out to touch Wu Xin's head, but instead his hand fell on his shoulder.

"Dad, come visit your mom in a few days, okay?"

Wu Xin nodded, looking a little lonely. Qiu Hua could not see any expression on his face.
