Chapter 127 Tang Jianming's Choice

Tang Jianming fell seriously ill after returning from his mother-in-law's house.

He was so sick that he thought he was going to die, and in a daze he seemed to see his deceased father.

"Dad...are you here to pick me up now?" Tang Jianming felt hot all over, dizzy, and ached all over his body.

Dad walked up to him without saying a word.

“Bang!”

He slapped Tang Jianming hard in the face, leaving him dizzy and disoriented.

I got punched at my mother-in-law's house during the day and slapped at home at night.

"Dad! I know I was wrong!" Tang Jianming covered himself tightly with the quilt and said, "I'm still young. Don't come and take me away so early!"

Dad still said nothing, gave him a disdainful look, and disappeared.

Tang Jianming fell into a deep sleep and took a hot bath in his dream. When he woke up, he was sweating. When he lifted the quilt, white steam came out. If his father was still alive at this moment, he would really think that he was going to die.

Bah, after what you did, are you worthy of riding a crane?

He got up, dried his body, and rummaged around for a long time before finding a clean cotton sweater and trousers. It was still dark, so he curled up in the quilt and fell asleep again.

He slept uneasily all night, waking up after taking a short nap. He sweated all night without drinking any water. Tang Jianming felt that his lips were so dry that they were almost glued together. He pulled them apart with force and smacked his lips.

Suddenly, someone lifted his head and put his mouth to the cool rim of the cup. Warm water flowed in. He was too lazy to open his eyes and gulped down a few mouthfuls.

"Look, I'm the only one here to see you now."

Tang Jianming opened his eyes suddenly and saw Widow Zhang sitting beside the bed, looking at him with a smile. Her face seemed to be smeared with powder, and her whiteness was uneven. Her eyebrows and eyes twitched as she spoke. If it had not been dawn, he would have really thought that the vixen in the book had come.

"What are you doing here?" Tang Jianming lay down and closed his eyes again.

The man was really strange. A while ago, they were as close as one person, but just a short while later, it was as if they didn't know each other anymore.

"What do you mean? Why don't you recognize me now?"

Widow Zhang stopped smiling and sparks flashed in her eyes. It was obvious that Tang Jianming was trying to distance himself from her.

Tang Jianming turned over, facing away from her, and said without emotion, "I'm not well yet. I'm leaving this to you. Go back first. I'll talk to you when I'm better."

There were footsteps outside the house, coming from far away and getting closer, as if they were coming towards his home. Tang Jianming sat up suddenly, looking nervously at the window and then at Widow Zhang.

Widow Zhang sneered and said, "Tang Jianming, are you still a man? Everyone knows about our little thing, and you look so scared of death."

"Don't talk!" Tang Jianming growled. She glared at him with her almond-shaped eyes and turned away angrily.

There was a knock on the door.

"Jianming, are you up yet?" It was the voice of my cousin Tang Sannan, "Jianming—Jianming—"

Widow Zhang rolled her eyes and pretended to go out to open the door. In desperation, Tang Jianming jumped to the ground and held her tightly with his arms.

She twisted on Tang Jianming like a slippery loach, rubbed him twice, and the smell of perfumed powder penetrated his nose.

"Uncle, I'm here. I haven't woken up yet. What can I do for you?"

While they were talking, Widow Zhang bit his neck hard. Tang Jianming cried out in pain, veins popping out on his forehead, and slapped her hard on the butt.

This slap made her feel comfortable. She withdrew her mouth with satisfaction and glanced up at Tang Jianming with her almond-shaped eyes.

"Jianming, come to our house for dinner when you get up. Uncle hasn't had a drink with you in a while."

Tang Sannan’s excuse was really lame. He had held a New Year’s party not long ago, and it was this New Year’s party that exposed Tang Jianming.

"Okay, okay, uncle, I'll be there in a minute, you go back first."

After a pause, the footsteps sounded again, from near to far.

Tang Jianming threw Widow Zhang down, but she held onto his neck and refused to let go. He showed dissatisfaction on his face, and Widow Zhang finally let go.

"What do you mean? You're just destroying the bridge. I still smell your scent in my bed, so don't deny it!"

Widow Zhang sat back on the bed. Tang Jianming frowned and pulled her up, smoothing out the sheets and folding the quilt.

It’s true, Widow Zhang just likes Tang Jianming’s appearance. He looks decent to outsiders, but he is like a wolf in bed.

"Okay, okay, didn't you hear me just now? I'm going to my uncle's house. I'll come talk to you later in the evening."

"Stop talking, when did you ever come here to talk to me?"

Widow Zhang's greasy eyes almost drew Tang Jianming back to bed. After much persuasion, she finally went home obediently.

At noon, Tang Jianming went to his uncle's house. He declined the wine his uncle poured for him, thinking that he had to go to Widow Zhang's house to talk in the evening and drinking would delay things.

Before he came, he knew what his uncle wanted to talk to him about. When Tang Jianming was fifteen years old, his parents contracted liver fluke disease and died. It was Tang Sanan who had been taking care of him.

He listened to everything his uncle said and regretted his decision. His eyes turned red in front of Luo Zhen and Erhua.

If there were a regret pill in this world, he would give himself a bottle at a time, and if one bottle was not enough, he would take two bottles.

"Luo Zhen, why don't you go with Jianming and persuade your eldest cousin's wife to come back with the child? Husband and wife fight at the beginning and make up at the end!"

Luo Zhen looked at Tang Jianming's red eyes, sighed, and still shook his head unwillingly.

"Brother, don't you know what kind of person the eldest cousin's wife is? Do you think persuasion will be useful?"

Seeing that Tang Jianming didn't say anything, she continued, "Some people give advice but it's better to do it."

In the evening, Tang Jianming knocked on Widow Zhang's door. He didn't know what kind of incense she had lit, but he could smell it as soon as he opened the door. There were actually candles lit in the room, and the light was dim.

Widow Zhang led Tang Jianming in, her waist twisting like a candle flame.

"Don't bother, I'll leave as soon as I'm done talking."

Tang Jianming said seriously, but Widow Zhang didn't take it seriously. Every time he came, he would be serious at the beginning but would cry loudly later.

"I lost my mind over this matter. It's all my fault. I came here today to make it clear to you. Although my wife has moved back to her parents' home, I only have her.

This is all my fault. I have committed a capital crime. I will give you whatever you want, but we will not contact each other again."

Widow Zhang suddenly stood up, rushed forward and slapped him.

In a short period of time, Tang Jianming was hit in the face three times.

"Alright, since you said you've committed a capital crime, then go die right now. Once you die, I'll completely break off all ties with you!"

Tang Jianming remained silent, and Widow Zhang punched him in the chest again.

"What do I want from you? I don't want anything, I just want you!" As she spoke, she began to sob and cried, "Your wife is about to divorce you, why are you still rushing to get married? Are you afraid that there will be no woman in your family? Don't you have me?"

Wouldn't it be better for us to get married and have a child than to be with her?"

"We were wrong from the beginning. I was confused and couldn't handle it. I'm not a man. Anything else is fine, but I can't marry you."
