Chapter 47 Returning Home

At the train station, Liang Ping's eyes were still red.

Qiuhua was also reluctant to leave, but she didn't shed a tear. Perhaps it was because Liang Ping had a good life since childhood that she was so emotionally rich and outgoing.

Uncle and aunt insisted on bringing them a bag of rice and a large bottle of rapeseed oil, and Liang Ping also gave Qiuhua a can of malted milk.

"Qiuhua, this is what I give you. It's just one can, not much. Drink it yourself. Even if you want to give it to the brothers, you should give them less. Drink more yourself. Remember?"

This was the third time Liang Ping had reminded her of this. Qiuhua nodded vigorously, feeling as if she had drunk malted milk in her heart, and felt warm inside.

"Liang Ping, next time during the New Year, why don't you come to the countryside to play and come and see Chunhua? I'll go back and embroider a handkerchief for you. You must come during the New Year and come and get the handkerchief."

This was a very specific and detailed agreement, fundamentally different from just having dinner together next time. How the two little mermaids looked forward to their next meeting! If only tomorrow were Chinese New Year, they could see each other again and tell each other funny stories. This age was the best time for their relationship, even though they only saw each other a few times.

When the gate was opened for ticket checking, the people behind rushed over. Qiuhua was small and was pushed to the front by the crowd. She looked everywhere for her father, but there was a dark crowd in front of her and she couldn't find anyone.

"Dad, Dad!" She wanted to turn around and look for him, but the people behind her pushed forward, so she was pushed forward and couldn't even hand her ticket to the ticket inspector. Some people also mixed in with the crowd and went in.

"Dad, Dad!"

She held the bag of rice tightly in both hands.

"Hey, stop calling me daddy, little girl, hurry up and get in. Your ticket has a carriage and a seat. Get on the train and wait!"

Someone behind her reminded her impatiently. Qiuhua calmed down and thought about it and realized it made sense, so she didn't look back and just followed the crowd forward.

Arriving at the platform, the crowd slowly dispersed, and only then could she slow down her pace. She stopped to carefully examine the ticket in her hand, then the carriage number, looking somewhat bewildered.

Suddenly, there was a figure beside her. Qiuhua looked up and saw a handsome, fair-skinned man wearing glasses. He said with a smile, "Xiao Niangyu, which car are you in? The things in your hands must be heavy. Uncle, can you help carry them aboard?"

As he spoke, the man reached out to pick up Qiuhua's rice bag. She was startled and quickly picked up the bag and took a step back, shaking her head and saying, "No, no, I can carry it myself!"

"Don't be afraid, little girl. You're so small, there's no way I can lift you up. The train is about to leave, so let me help you get on."

Seeing him taking another step towards her, Qiuhua looked at him warily like a frightened rabbit, then threw the rice bag onto her shoulders with both hands and ran away.

"Hey, that little mermaid is running so fast, slow down!"

Qiuhua didn't care anymore and ran forward with all her might. The wind was whistling in her ears. She was like a little sparrow flapping its wings in the crowd about to take off. The train made a humming sound, announcing that it was about to set sail. Qiuhua was anxious and found a nearby carriage to get in.

She looked out the window again and again, and finally made sure that the man had not caught up with her, then she breathed a sigh of relief.

The carriage was in chaos, and the person who had just entered was in a hurry and didn't see clearly which carriage it was. Qiuhua looked carefully at the people in the carriage, wanting to find someone who looked familiar to ask.

The carriage was crowded at this time. Many people had just boarded the train and had not yet taken their seats. Some were putting away their luggage, and some were looking for seats. No one paid any attention to the confused little mermaid.

"Hey, what are you doing?"

A loud and resonant voice caught everyone's attention. A fat woman looked at the young man in front of her with dissatisfaction, and the young man stepped on her instep.

"You stepped on my feet and made them swollen. Where the hell is your place? What are you running around here for?"

The fat woman was loud and aggressive, and the young man blushed and apologized profusely. But the fat woman was relentless, pushing him hard and yelling, "Get out of here! You're in the way."

The young man was pushed so hard that he almost fell to the ground. He hurriedly went to another car in shame. Everyone around him looked at the fat woman with a subtle look, and then everyone continued to do their own things.

Qiuhua squeezed closer to the fat woman and said, "Sister, can you tell me which car number this is?"

The fat woman looked Qiuhua up and down, and everyone around her was worried for her.

"What's the number on your ticket?"

Unexpectedly, the fat woman's voice softened, and Qiuhua quickly said, "Number 6, it's number 6."

"We are number 5, go to the back." The fat woman nodded, and Qiuhua immediately understood. She wanted to go through the carriage, but the people in the aisle blocked her way.

The fat woman suddenly stood up and shouted at the top of her voice: "Come on, move aside, let Xiao Niangyu pass. You guys are so slow and are blocking other people's way, don't you know?"

Qiuhua looked at the fat woman gratefully and thanked her repeatedly. She waved her hands quickly: "What are you thanking me for? Let's go. It's not safe for a little girl to be out there these days. What happened to your parents?"

Without saying anything, Qiuhua hurried to the back and finally saw his father in the next carriage. He was looking out of the carriage with great effort, and he looked very anxious. Seeing that the train was about to leave, he picked up his luggage and prepared to get off.

"Dad! Dad, I'm here!"

Qiuhua shouted loudly, raising her hands high. She was so excited that her voice was high and bright. When her father saw her coming towards him, he breathed a sigh of relief and sat down.

"Dad! What's wrong with your hand?"

Qiuhua cried out in surprise. His father's right hand was covered in blood, but he didn't feel it at all. Liang Genfa looked at his right hand carefully and felt no pain. Qiuhua wiped it with a piece of cloth and found that there was no wound.

"It probably just bumped into someone's pocket. It's okay, it's okay." Dad wiped the sweat from his forehead. He was sweating in the cold weather. He looked at Qiuhua, whose face was also flushed with anxiety, and said soothingly, "Okay, okay, just get in the car."

The train whistled loudly, and the scenery outside the window began to slowly recede. Qiuhua leaned back in her chair and gradually recovered her breath. Outside, there was still a commotion. Several police-looking men were escorting a young man. Qiuhua took a closer look and saw that it was the young man who had stepped on the fat woman's foot.

Qiuhua thought for a moment and said, "Dad, an older sister just showed me the way. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gotten to this car. That older sister was really brave. She shouted when she saw someone with three hands. She's really brave."

My father smiled and said, "That woman is really brave. If you see someone with three hands outside, don't make a fuss or they might retaliate against you."

Qiuhua curled her lips. She didn't expect that her father was just like the man in the fat woman's carriage. They both had strong bodies but were not as brave as the woman.
