Chapter 144: The Fox Using the Tiger's Power to Bully People

Wang Erhu carried two loads of vegetables to set up a stall.

Ever since that group of street vendors beat someone up at the street corner, the police station has sent police officers to patrol the area, and they come by every once in a while.

Not to mention that ordinary people were a little scared when they saw the police, even the small vendors who were usually aggressive were a little timid.

Whenever they passed by on patrol, they always had to put on a smile.

Gradually, rumors spread among the small vendors that the higher-ups were going to tighten the policy again and would not allow people to set up stalls and do business!

This sounds very fake. At this point, the policy has been completely liberalized and there is no reason to go back.

But these people didn't understand, and some of them just believed everything they said, so everyone felt insecure for a while.

Wang Erhu looked as if nothing had happened and found a piece of land of suitable size to put down his burden.

On the first day of setting up the stall, the variety of vegetables at home was limited, just two pumpkins, a winter melon and some leafy vegetables.

His stall was right across from the coach "Brother Wang" who had beaten him last time.

They had been staring at him nakedly since he even set foot on the ground.

After finishing his work, he looked around and smiled at them sullenly. Everyone else looked away as if nothing had happened.

This boy is so brave!

As for why they haven't taken action to overthrow his business yet, it's probably because of the patrols that come every now and then.

Brother Wang held a cigarette in his mouth and looked at Wang Erhua through the layers of white smoke.

I thought to myself: This guy is not only shameless, but also tough. He even came here to challenge me! He is asking for a fight!

"Oh, business is not good! The situation is very tense these days! We'll just work as hard as we can!" someone nearby complained.

"Hey, these days, everyone comes to sell vegetables!"

What you are talking about is just selling vegetables!

Wang Erhu was so angry that he wanted to hit someone: "What cats and dogs! I am your Tiger Master!"

"Well, what do you mean by selling as much as you can? I just got here."

Wang Erhu bent over and handed people cigarettes.

The man glanced at Brother Wang across from him and didn't dare to take it. Wang Erhu withdrew his hand angrily.

"The situation is not good right now. They say we are not allowed to do business again!"

After saying that, the man turned around, meaning that he didn't want to continue talking to Wang Erhu.

It happened that a business came to the door, and the man weighed out a pound of bean sprouts and three pounds of sweet potatoes for the customer.

"Do you have any onions?" the guest asked.

The man shook his head: "No."

"Hey, I have some, I'll give it to you!" Wang Erhu grabbed a handful of green onions and handed them over.

"No money required, just come to my brother's stall more often in the future!"

The guests said yes repeatedly and left satisfied.

"You're quite capable, you have some brains." The man's expression improved a lot and he said, "My last name is Xu. What's your name?"

"My last name is Wang, and I'm from the same family as your brother Wang!"

Xu the vendor twitched his lips awkwardly, thinking to himself, this guy is so shameless!

"If you want to set up a stall here, you still have to get Brother Wang."

Wang Erhu nodded to show that he understood.

He suddenly looked as if he had thought of something and said, "Didn't you just say that the situation is urgent? If you can't sell here then, won't I be able to come?"

Xu the vendor was amused and asked, "We can't sell anything anymore, how can you still do this?"

"I," Wang Erhu pointed his index finger upwards and said, "there are people up there."

The other party looked at him suspiciously.

Wang Erhu didn't explain and just sat there patiently.

After a while, the patrol police came. Before they came close, Wang Erhu stood up and greeted them. One of them waved at him.

His big gesture of greeting was so conspicuous that he wanted everyone on the street to know it.

Sure enough, Brother Wang looked at him again and again, with shock, suspicion, regret, envy and a little admiration in his eyes.

"You really... have someone?"

Wang Erhu touched his chin and smiled mysteriously.

"Don't try to bluff me! We can set up a stall and do business in this area because our brother Wang has connections up there!"

Is there anyone? No one!

He found out how this group of people came here and when they started setting up their stall here.

After setting up the stall for a whole day, he sold nothing, but Wang Erhu was not in a hurry at all.

In the evening, everyone was packing up their stalls one by one. When the last wave of patrols came over and walked to Wang Erhu, an older policeman took the initiative to greet him.

"Hey, why are you here? Selling vegetables too?"

Wang Erhu scratched his head and replied, "Uncle, I will be here from now on, please take care of me!"

"Of course, they're all our own children!"

The two exchanged pleasantries, leaving the onlookers stunned.

After they walked away, peddler Xu hurriedly grabbed Wang Erhu and said, "Brother, don't leave yet. I don't recognize the real thing. Above you..." He also pointed upwards and whispered, "There really is someone!"

Wang Erhu smiled complacently and did not respond.

"Look, it's a good idea for us to start a small business together. If we really can't do it, can you please put in a good word for me? I rely on this stall to make a living!"

Xu the peddler handed him a cigarette, and he took it reluctantly.

"I need to think about this, so I'll ask for you first."

"Okay, okay, okay."

When he got home in the evening, Wang Erhua put down his burden and went to the table to eat two bowls of white rice. After that, he smacked his lips and decided that he had achieved half of the success today.

Wang Liuchao looked at the carrying pole and found that the same items were sold in the morning and in the evening. It seemed that he had not sold anything.

Wang Erhu looked at his father's wrinkled, dark face and said, "Dad, don't worry! We just went there today and we're not familiar with the place. It's normal that we can't sell it!"

Wang Liu glanced at him sideways, and had no confidence in his idle son at all.

"Last time you asked me to take you to that distant relative's house, it was just to get to know them?"

"It's good to know the place. I ran into my uncle today. He's patrolling in that area, so I can look after him from now on."

This made sense, so Wang Liu said no more.

After the second day, the third day, and even after Wang Erhu had been greeting his police uncle for a week, Brother Wang finally couldn't help but talk to him.

"Brother, don't take what happened before to heart!"

Wang Erhu nodded repeatedly in agreement, but cursed in his heart: It turns out that you are not the one being beaten!

"I heard from Xiao Xu," he whispered, pointing to the sky, "you have someone above you."

Wang Erhu smiled ambiguously and did not deny it.

"Ahem!" Brother Wang rubbed his hands and said, "Look at this stall, this location, it's all done. I really... I don't know if I can help..."

"Oh, it's a small matter!" Wang Erhu waved his hand and said righteously, "As long as I set up a stall here for one day, there will be a place for you!"

"Look! Look! So loyal! He really is from the family!"

Brother Wang put his arm around Wang Erhu's shoulders, his eyes full of excitement and gratitude.

From then on, there was a street vendor.
