Chapter 9 Is it red crayfish?

When Dapang heard that there was candy to eat, his eyes lit up and he said sweetly, "Thank you, auntie. You are the best. I love you."

Seeing that her younger sister gave her son such expensive candy, Li Chunmei also said, "Little sister, since you are injured, keep it for yourself. It would be a waste to give it to the brat."

Jiang Li smiled, "It's okay, I eat little, and these two pieces are for Xiaopang, you keep them, sister-in-law." You can't favor one over the other when it comes to the two children, even if the younger one is only one year old.

Li Chunmei sighed, "You, just spoil them!"

Seeing that Li Li was still wrapped in gauze, Jiang Qingguo asked, "Does your head still hurt?"

Jiang Li walked over holding the child and said, "It doesn't hurt anymore. It has scabbed over."

Wang Sufen saw that Jiang Li seemed to have lost weight recently, so she comforted him, "Don't think too much. Stay at home and take good care of yourself. Tomorrow, I'll ask your sixth brother to go catch some fish for you. There are the most fish in this season."

"But there are so many big red bugs this year that we spent the whole summer trying to catch them, but humans can't eat them, and even pigs won't eat them."

Jiang Li asked in confusion: "What big red bug? Is it a red crayfish?"

Wang Sufen smiled and said, "Yes, that's the thing. There aren't that many every year, but I don't know what happened this year. There are so many recently. If we hadn't been diligent in catching them, I don't know how much food would have been destroyed."

"Also, the rains this year are heavy, and you can often catch some small fish and shrimp in the river. If you are not injured, let your sixth brother take you to play."

After hearing this, Jiang Li confirmed that it was really crayfish, and said with sparkling eyes: "Aunt, red crayfish is delicious. I ate it once by chance when I was in school in the county. We didn't think it tasted good, but that was because the cooking method was wrong."

"I have been studying at school before. If I had known there were so many at home, I would have come back earlier to tell you."

In the original owner's memory, there were indeed crayfish at home, but there were not many every year, so the children just caught them to play with.

"Is it really edible?" Wang Sufen asked.

Jiang Li nodded, "It's edible. Since there are a lot, bring it back and I'll cook it for you to try."

Jiang Jingzhe heard this and said, "I'll go catch them for you right now. There are a lot of them. If they are really edible, that would be great. Otherwise, I'll be exhausted every day and it would be a waste of time catching them."

Jiang Li smiled and said, "It's getting late, are you sure you want to go now?"

Jiang Jingzhe said, "It's only a few hours now. Fifth brother hasn't come back yet. I'll go find him. We'll wait to taste my little sister's cooking tonight."

Although Jiang Li was spoiled by her family, she did not fall behind in learning any necessary skills.

So the original owner could cook, but he just didn’t cook very often.

When Jiang Qinghua and his wife came back, they saw that their eldest brother and his family were all there. They smiled and said, "We just caught a rabbit this morning and haven't eaten it yet. You guys can eat it here tonight. I'll go kill the rabbit. As for the pheasant, I won't give it to you. I'll save it for making chicken soup for Li Li."

Jiang Qingguo smiled and said, "No need to kill them, leave them to Li Li to nourish her body, we just need to have enough food to fill our stomachs."

Jiang Qinghua waved his hand and said, "It's okay. I'll go to the mountain tomorrow morning to check. Maybe there will be more tomorrow. I have dug a lot of traps."

"I was thinking that if we hunt a lot this year, I would pickle them all and save them for winter."

Jiang Qingguo put away his pipe and said, "Okay, let Jingchen go with you tomorrow morning. Jingzhe is also a person who can't sit still."

"If you can, dig a few more traps and save the bones as bait at night."

The people in Sanhe Village live off the mountain. In recent years, as long as the animal is not a large one, whoever catches it will own it.

Of course, if you kill a lot of pheasants and rabbits, you have to hand some of them in.

Otherwise, with so many people in the village watching, there will always be people who have objections.

At this time Jiang Li said, "Uncle, do you know anyone who has a puppy? I want to raise one to guard the house."

In her previous life, she was too busy to raise an animal she liked. Now that she has the chance to do it again, she really wants to raise one.

Moreover, she has the space and is not worried about not being able to support the family.

When the family heard that Jiang Li wanted to get a dog, the first person to speak up and disagree was Jiang Xuemei.

"Why do you want to keep a dog? That fellow eats a lot. It's a waste of food to keep it. You won't be at home later, so why keep one?"

Hearing what his mother said, Jiang Li curled his lips, said "oh", and said nothing.

It was the old lady who saw her granddaughter was unhappy and said, "If Li Li wants to raise one, just raise it. It's not like you're raising a bunch of them. How much can one eat?"

"What's wrong with the child liking you as a mother?"

"Li Li, don't listen to your mother. Grandma agrees that you can keep a dog, but once you get one, you have to take good care of it. Animals are spiritual, and we can't be irresponsible when keeping one, okay?"

When Jiang Li heard what his grandmother said, he looked up at his mother and then at his grandmother.

"If my mother doesn't like it, then forget it. I can just not raise it." At worst, I can just live by myself and raise it later.

Seeing her daughter like this, Jiang Xuemei sighed and said, "Raise her, raise her. Your grandmother has already asked for it, but you have to take care of her yourself. I won't serve you."

When Jiang Li heard that his mother agreed, he looked up at his uncle and asked, "Uncle, do you know any family there?"

Jiang Qingguo smiled and said, "You know what, I actually know a family that raises wolfhounds. I heard that they bred them with wild wolves from the mountains in the early years."

"But I don't know whether she has given birth to puppies yet. I'll ask you tomorrow."

Jiang Li smiled sweetly, "Thank you, uncle. I knew that you loved me the most."

Jiang Xuemei rolled her eyes and said, "Virtue, you are the best at flattering people."

Jiang Li chuckled, "I love mom, dad, and grandma the most, too."

Jiang Haoyu came back and saw everyone at home talking and laughing, so he said, "What are you talking about? You look so happy."

When Jiang Li saw Fifth Brother coming back, she said sweetly, "Fifth Brother, where have you been? Why did you come back so late?"

Jiang Haoyu raised his hand and replied with a smile: "I went to find meat for our little cotton-padded jacket. How is it? Isn't your fifth brother awesome?"

He and Gao Ming were lucky today and hunted a lot of game. After going down the mountain, they each shared the spoils in half.

In addition, he was carrying three rabbits, two pheasants, a string of house sparrows and a bag of bird eggs.

Seeing that Lao Liu had come back with so many game animals, Jiang Qingguo asked, "Did anyone see you coming back?"

Jiang Haoyu shook his head and said, "No, I took a detour after Gao Ming and I separated."

He is not a fool. He has caught so many people. Those old women will definitely make sarcastic remarks when they see him.

Some people even wanted to introduce him to someone when they saw him, and he didn't have time to avoid them.

Jiang Xuemei took the wild food from her son's hand and said, "Have you seen Lao Liu? He said he went to look for you."

Jiang Haoyu replied: "I saw it. I thought I would send the things back and then go find him. I heard that my younger sister can cook red crayfish. When did she learn it?"
