Chapter 46 If you can't beat them, you can poison them!

In the early morning, looking at the three people lying haphazardly, Wang Fan shook his head helplessly.

"They're all sleeping like little pigs," Wang Fan muttered softly.

He stood up, stretched, walked to the bow of the boat, and gazed at the boundless sea.

"Working during the day! Working at night too!" Wang Fan couldn't help but complain.

Despite his complaints, Wang Fan turned around and went to cook. A little while later, Hua Nianci arrived.

"Let me help you," Hua Nianci said with a smile.

While chopping vegetables, Wang Fan asked, "Why didn't you sleep a little longer?"

Hua Nianci smoothed her hair and said, "I've had enough sleep. I was thinking of coming to lend you a hand."

The two worked together and quickly prepared the meal.

They brought the food to the table and invited Xiaomeng and Qin Xiaoxuan to eat.

Everyone sat together and began to wolf down their food.

After finishing his meal, Wang Fan decided to go to the island to see if there were any usable supplies.

Xiao Meng said worriedly, "Brother, you have to be careful."

Qin Xiaoxuan added, "Yes, come back immediately if you encounter any danger."

Hua Nianci looked at Wang Fan with concern.

Feeling the care and concern from everyone, Wang Fan nodded firmly and said, "Don't worry, I'll be fine."

Seeing this scene, Wang Fan felt a pang of emotion, like a wife waiting for her husband to come home.

He quickly shook his head to clear the strange thought from his mind, then called out to Little Black at the stern, "Little Black, let's go!"

Xiao Hei ran over happily and followed behind Wang Fan.

After arriving on the island, Wang Fan and Xiao Hei walked along a path. The trees around them were towering, their branches intertwined, completely blocking out the sunlight.

As they walked, Xiao Hei suddenly stopped and began barking wildly at the bushes ahead.

Wang Fan's heart skipped a beat. Was there some danger?

He cautiously approached, used his harpoon to part the bushes, and saw a brightly colored snake coiled there, flicking its tongue and staring at them menacingly.

Wang Fan gasped, cold sweat instantly breaking out on his brow.

Little Black fearlessly pounced on it.

"Xiao Hei, don't be impulsive!" Wang Fan hurriedly stopped him.

But it was too late; Little Black rushed in front of the snake in an instant.

The snake was not to be outdone; it instantly raised its head and opened its mouth to bite Little Black.

Wang Fan's heart was in his throat, and he gripped the harpoon in his hand tightly with nervousness.

At this critical moment, Xiao Hei nimbly dodged the snake's attack by sidestepping, and then bit the snake's vital spot.

The snake twisted and turned desperately, trying to break free from Xiao Hei's sharp teeth.

Its tail lashed wildly at the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Little Black held on tightly, refusing to let go, and let out a low growl from its throat.

The snake was very strong and flung Little Black into the air, but Little Black still did not let go while in the air.

Using its momentum, it adjusted its posture in mid-air, and after landing, it gripped the ground tightly with its four claws, engaging in a contest of strength with the snake.

The snake coiled its body around Little Black, and Little Black's breathing became rapid, but its eyes remained firm.

Wang Fan was extremely anxious, but dared not step forward rashly, for fear of disrupting Xiao Hei's rhythm.

Suddenly, Xiao Hei exerted its strength, violently swung its head, and slammed the snake heavily to the ground.

The snake seemed stunned by the fall, and its movements became somewhat sluggish.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Xiao Hei exerted its strength again, shaking violently from side to side. With a "crack" sound, it seemed that the snake's bones had broken.

Xiao Hei then released its grip, panting heavily.

Wang Fan quickly ran over, stroked Xiao Hei's head, and praised, "Xiao Hei, you're amazing!"

Little Black wagged its tail proudly, clearly satisfied with its performance and enjoying Wang Fan's praise.

Its eyes were bright and sparkling, and it was making "woo-woo" sounds, as if it were saying something.

"This is nothing. With me here, there will be no surprises."

Wang Fan stepped forward and dissected the snake.

"Ding! Decomposing the venomous snake yielded 1 snake meat, 1 snake skin, and 1 snake venom."

"Beep! The 10,000x amplification function has been triggered!"

Congratulations! You have obtained snake meat*, snake skin*, and snake venom*.

Upon hearing this prompt, Wang Fan was initially taken aback, but then a look of surprise and delight appeared on his face.

He had heard that snake meat and chicken stewed together make a delicious soup.

Wang Fan smiled and patted Xiao Hei's head, saying, "Let's go, let's keep going."

They continued deeper into the island, where the trees grew denser and the light became dimmer.

Suddenly, Xiao Hei stopped again. This time, its ears stood up straight, and its eyes were fixed warily on a large tree in front of it.

Wang Fan followed Xiao Hei's gaze and saw a huge bird's nest in the tree.

He curiously took a few steps closer, wanting to see more clearly.

Just then, a huge bird flew back from afar, its wings spread wide, blotting out the sky.

Little Black was so frightened that it took a few steps back and whimpered softly.

Wang Fan's heart raced with surprise at the sudden appearance of the large bird.

"Damn, isn't that the bird that stole our sheep last time?" Wang Fan muttered to himself.

Xiao Hei nodded, clearly recognizing him, and looked angry, letting out a low growl.

Wang Fan said to Xiao Hei, "Xiao Hei, I know you're angry, but we can't beat them, let's retreat first."

Little Black whimpered unwillingly, its eyes still fixed on the big bird.

Wang Fan tugged at Xiao Hei and turned to leave.

But then he suddenly remembered something and stopped in his tracks: "If you can't beat them, you can poison them!"

Xiao Hei looked at him with a puzzled expression.

Wang Fan said excitedly, "Don't we still have the snake venom we collected before? If we crush it up and mix it into the meat, maybe we can poison this big bird."

Without further ado, Wang Fan and Xiao Hei found a secluded spot and began preparing the poisoned bait.

With everything prepared, Wang Fan threw the poisoned meat onto an open space not far away.

Then, they hid to the side and waited quietly.

Before long, the big bird was indeed attracted by the aroma of meat.

It circled above the piece of meat a few times, seemingly checking for any danger.

Wang Fan's heart was in his throat as he stared intently at the large bird's every move, his palms sweating profusely.

Finally, the large bird slowly landed and pecked at the piece of meat with its sharp beak.

Wang Fan was so nervous that he almost stopped breathing, fearing that the big bird would notice something was wrong.

Eat! Eat up!

Fortunately, after hesitating for a moment, the big bird still ate it in large bites.

Wang Fan and Xiao Hei exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with anticipation.

However, after waiting for a while, the big bird did not seem to show any signs of being poisoned; on the contrary, it seemed even more energetic.

"Could it be that snake venom has no effect on it?" Wang Fan was filled with doubt and disappointment.

He felt this shouldn't be the case; he had released a lot of snake venom.

"Is this bird immune to all poisons?" Wang Fan frowned and muttered to himself.
