Chapter 53 The Unknown! Enemy or Friend (Part 2)

Leading the way was a tall man.

He was tall and muscular, with bronze skin that gleamed in the sunlight.

Beneath his thick eyebrows, a pair of sharp eyes were fixed on Wang Fan, their gaze filled with vigilance and scrutiny.

Following closely behind him was a rather thin man with a pointed face and monkey-like features; his eyes darted around, making him quite unpleasant to look at.

The man at the very back was of medium height and average appearance.

However, the bow and arrows he carried and the dagger at his waist showed that he was no benevolent person either.

A large hunting dog followed at their feet.

The hound bared its teeth and growled in a low growl.

Wang Fan and Sha Diao warily stared at the three people and the dog. Wang Fan leaned forward slightly, ready to respond to any attack at any time.

The two scrutinized each other, neither speaking first, and the atmosphere became extremely tense.

Wang Fan's gaze swept over the three men one by one, finally settling on the tall man.

Because he looks the strongest and most threatening.

Wang Fan stared intently at him, trying to glean a clue from his expression and movements to determine his intentions.

The tall man met Wang Fan's gaze without flinching, as if trying to see right through him.

The skinny man kept glancing at Wang Fan and the sand sculpture beside him, seemingly plotting something.

The man carrying a bow and arrows gripped the bow tightly, his fingers already resting on the bowstring.

Time seemed to stand still, with only the low growls of the hunting dogs and the heavy breathing of the crowd.

Sweat gradually appeared on Wang Fan's forehead. He knew that if he was not careful, a fierce battle would break out.

Just then, the tall man suddenly broke the silence: "My name is Lei Meng, this skinny guy is Li Jing, and the one with the bow and arrow is Zhao Jian. We haven't been on this island long. May I ask how this young man is addressed?"

Wang Fan's heart stirred, but his face remained calm: "My name is Li Fan, and I also came to this island by accident."

Lei Meng's eyes flickered: "Oh? Then what brings Brother Li Fan to this island?"

Wang Fan smiled and said, "We're just looking for some treasures and food, trying our luck. What about you, Brother Lei?"

Lei Meng tilted his head slightly: "We're just trying to survive, of course. This island is fraught with danger, Brother Li Fan, you'd better be careful."

Wang Fan nodded: "Thank you for the reminder, Brother Lei. But judging from the way you and your companions are acting, it doesn't seem like you're just doing this for survival."

Li Jing couldn't help but interject, "Hmph, stop with the nonsense!"

Wang Fan's face darkened: "This brother's words are unpleasant. We've just met, why be so aggressive?"

Upon hearing Wang Fan's answer, Zhao Jian aimed his bow and arrow at Wang Fan even more.

A cold glint flashed in Wang Fan's eyes: "What? You're trying to force me to stay?"

Upon seeing this, the sand sculpture beside Wang Fan let out a sharp cry, flapping its wings and creating a gust of wind.

Seeing this, Lei Meng shouted, "Don't move!"

The scene quieted down temporarily, but the tense atmosphere remained unabated.

Lei Meng looked at Wang Fan with a deep gaze and said, "This island is rich in resources. We don't need to make a big fuss over a little suspicion."

After listening, Wang Fan thought for a moment and nodded, saying, "Brother Lei is right. We really don't need to do that."

Seeing that Wang Fan agreed, Lei Meng's expression softened slightly: "Then, Brother Li Fan, let's part ways here and each go find our own supplies."

Wang Fan clasped his hands in a fist and said, "Alright, I wish Brother Lei and the others good luck."

Wang Fan quickly went to the edge of the trap and tried to rescue Xiao Hei.

As soon as Xiao Hei was freed, it happily jumped into Wang Fan's arms, whimpering as if telling its grievances.

Wang Fan comforted Xiao Hei, then looked at Lei Meng and the others again: "Brother Lei, farewell."

After saying that, he turned and left with Little Black and Sand Sculpture.

After Wang Fan had walked away, Li Jing leaned close to Lei Meng and asked in a low voice, "Brother, why didn't you keep Wang Fan and the others here?"

Lei glared at him: "What do you know? Making a move before figuring out their background will only cause trouble for yourself. Besides, that big bird next to him is no ordinary bird."

Li Jing pouted: "Big brother, are we just going to let them go like this? They look like big fat sheep!"

Lei Meng frowned: "Don't act rashly, let's assess the situation first."

Li Jing's eyes lit up: "Brother, why don't we have Black Panther track them down and see what they're up to?"

Lei Meng pondered for a moment and nodded: "Alright, just be careful not to get caught."

Li Jing whistled, and the large hunting dog, Black Panther, quietly followed behind Wang Fan and the others.

As Wang Fan was walking, Xiao Hei suddenly barked alertly.

Wang Fan frowned and said in a low voice, "Xiao Hei, are you saying someone is following us?"

Xiao Hei barked a few more times, seemingly confirming Wang Fan's guess.

Wang Fan's eyes lit up, and a plan came to him.

He deliberately left some obvious marks on the nearby bushes and branches, then quietly hid behind a big tree with Little Black and Sand Sculpture.

Time ticked by, and Wang Fan's heart was in his throat.

Finally, a dark figure slowly approached, following the trail.

Wang Fan looked closely and saw that it was indeed the hunting dog named Black Panther.

"It really was them!" Wang Fan gritted his teeth.

Just then, the black panther seemed to sense something was wrong. It stopped and looked around warily.

Seeing this, Wang Fan no longer hesitated, raised his crossbow, aimed at the black panther, and with a "whoosh," the crossbow bolt flew out.

The black panther let out a miserable cry and collapsed to the ground.

Hearing the black leopard's roar from afar, Li Jing's expression changed drastically: "Something's wrong!"

Lei Meng roared, "Go and see!"

Li Jing and Zhao Jian hurriedly ran towards the direction of the black leopard.

Looking at the dead black panther, Wang Fan said coldly, "I'm just teaching you a lesson for now. If there's a next time, it won't be so simple."

After saying that, Wang Fan mounted the sand sculpture, called to Xiao Hei, and the sand sculpture spread its huge wings and took off.

The three of them quickly arrived at the side of the dead black panther.

Li Jing stared at the black panther's corpse, his eyes red: "Big brother, Li Fan is too arrogant, we can't let him get away with this!"

Lei Meng's expression was grave as he crouched down to examine Black Panther's wounds: "This guy was ruthless."

Zhao Jian gritted his teeth and said, "We have to think of a way to get revenge. We can't let him get away like this."

Lei Meng stood up, pondered for a moment, and said, "Don't be impulsive. The fact that Li Fan was able to deal with Black Panther so easily means he's not easy to handle. We need to plan this carefully."

Li Jing asked anxiously, "Are we just going to let it go like this?"

Lei glared at him: "Of course not, but we can't act blindly. We need to find out his background and whereabouts."

Lei Meng watched the figure gradually disappear into the distance in the sky and fell into deep thought.
