"Humans! You have finally arrived!" The giant's voice boomed like a bell, echoing across the platform and causing ice shards to fall from the surrounding area.
Wang Fan and Bing Mei were completely bewildered by these sudden words. The giant's eyes gleamed with both anticipation and complex emotions.
"Was it...was it you who led us here?" Bingmei couldn't help but ask, her voice sounding rather small on the empty platform.
The giant nodded slowly, the ice chains on his body making a crisp sound with each movement.
“That’s right. Countless years have passed, and I have been waiting for the right person to break this seal and free me. And you are the ones I’ve been looking for.”
Wang Fan's heart tightened, and his vigilance instantly rose to its peak.
He instinctively gripped the Firebow in his hand, his gaze fixed on the giant, his mind racing.
He had long suspected that something was amiss, ever since they entered the ice pillar area and were first subjected to a frenzied attack by the Ice Crystal White Tiger Beast.
Having finally shaken off their pursuers, they escaped through what appeared to be a relatively safe passage.
Finally, by some strange twist of fate, he entered this mysterious passage and was eventually drawn here to see the giant.
This series of events seemed to be controlled by an invisible hand.
It now appears that the giant before us is very likely the key figure behind this behind-the-scenes scheme.
"Senior, how can you be so sure that we are the people you are looking for? What is your basis for this?" Wang Fan tried his best to keep his tone calm, but there was still a hint of doubt in his words.
In this mysterious and unpredictable place, he naturally couldn't easily believe anyone or anything based on just a few words.
The giant seemed to sense Wang Fan's wariness and slowly said, "To be precise, the person I'm actually looking for is you!"
Wang Fan's heart tightened. While he was on guard, curiosity also began to grow in his heart like vines.
He couldn't help but ask, "Why me? I'm just an ordinary person who stumbled into this place by chance."
The giant gave Wang Fan a deep look, his gaze seemingly piercing through his body and reaching the depths of his soul.
“There was a strange power surging within you, though it was fleeting, it did not escape my perception.”
Wang Fan was slightly taken aback, and quickly recalled the scene of fighting the Ice Crystal White Tiger Beast in his mind.
Could it be related to the Bloodthirsty Halberd?
At that time, the situation was critical, and he once took out the Bloodthirsty Halberd.
"It seems you've remembered something?"
The giant keenly noticed the change in Wang Fan's expression and slowly spoke.
Wang Fan remained secretly vigilant, but outwardly remained calm and composed.
Seeing this, the giant smiled gently, as if he could see through Wang Fan's thoughts, and said, "Young man, don't be nervous. All of this is the arrangement of fate, you don't need to be so wary."
Wang Fan raised an eyebrow, his tone tinged with a hint of probing: "Fate's arrangement? Senior, I've always only trusted my own judgment. This so-called fate is too ethereal and unpredictable."
The giant gently shook his head, his gaze deep and distant, as if he could see into the distant past through Wang Fan.
"Long, long ago, this ice was a peaceful place where all things lived in harmony under the nourishment of ice and snow."
The giant paused slightly, a hint of pain flashing in his eyes, as if recalling that unbearable past.
"At that time, the ice plains were peaceful and serene. Our clan thrived and multiplied here, coexisting with the ice and snow, and protecting this land."
"However, a group of outsiders who called themselves 'gods' shattered this peace. They radiated a strange and powerful light, and wherever they went, ice and snow melted and living beings trembled."
The giant's voice trembled involuntarily, and his clenched fists turned slightly white with anger.
"They slaughtered us without any reason, and my people were as vulnerable as ants under their overwhelming power."
"The screams and cries echoed in every corner of the icy plains; it was a nightmare I could never forget."
"I watched helplessly as my family and friends fell before my eyes, and my heart was filled with endless anger and hatred."
"I fought back with all my might, using the power that the ice field gave me to fight them to the death."
"But their power is too strange. Although I severely injured several of them, I was ultimately unable to withstand their combined attack."
"After the defeat, they did not let me go. In order to prevent me from taking revenge and to completely control this ice field, they decided to seal me away."
They discovered my ability to wield the power of the ice plains, and harbored evil intentions, attempting to seize this power for their own nefarious purposes.
"But they were also wary of the power of this force, so they could only seal me here, connecting me to this power and subjecting me to the dual torment of the power's erosion and the seal."
The giant's eyes were filled with sorrow and resentment. "For so many years, I have been trapped here, suffering endless pain and torment, yet I have been powerless to do anything. I can only watch helplessly as the ice plains gradually become unsettled under the influence they left behind."
"And now that you've come, I feel a glimmer of hope. I hope you can help me break this seal, avenge my people, and restore peace to the icy plains."
Upon hearing this, Wang Fan and Bing Mei were also filled with indignation.
They never imagined that such a tragic story was hidden behind this icy plain.
However, even though Wang Fan was deeply moved by the giant's fate, he remained unmoved.
However, his years of caution still prevented him from immediately letting down his guard.
Wang Fan's gaze was fixed on the giant, his eyes scrutinizing him, and he slowly said, "Senior, your story is indeed moving, and the actions of these so-called 'gods' are truly despicable."
"But how can I fully believe you based solely on your word? Are you so sure I will save you?"
The giant gave a wry smile, his eyes filled with the vicissitudes of life: "Young man, I understand your caution. In this world full of dangers, it's good to be more vigilant."
The giant paused, then continued, "Actually, not long ago, a mysterious woman came here. She emanated a soft and mysterious light, as if she did not belong to this world."
“She stood before me, her gaze unwavering, and told me that one day, people like you would come here to help me break the seal and fight together against the evil forces of those so-called ‘gods’.”
Wang Fan and Bing Mei exchanged a glance, both looking surprised.
The appearance of this mysterious woman made the whole affair even more perplexing.
Wang Fan quickly pressed on, "Senior, what does this mysterious woman look like? Could you describe her in detail?"
The giant narrowed his eyes slightly, trying hard to recall, and slowly said, "She was wearing a white robe, like the most flawless ice crystal on the ice field, and her long hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall."
The giant paused, a hint of awe in his eyes, and continued, "Although I can't see her face clearly, she exudes an aura of nobility and holiness."
"Her eyes were like a deep, icy lake, exuding tranquility and mystery, as if they could see through people's hearts. Just by standing there, one couldn't help but feel respect."
Wang Fan and Bing Mei listened intently, and the image of the mysterious woman couldn't help but appear in their minds.
Ice Fairy murmured, "She doesn't sound like a mortal."
