Go to the Myth Arena
Soon, Lin Bai realized her body was being driven. Her arms were raised high, her wide white robes fluttering in the wind, and the golden bracelets on her arms clashed with a crisp sound. She stood on the platform, looking down at the kneeling crowd below. In her ears was the low, long chanting of the believers who prostrated themselves on the ground, devout and fanatical.
She became a priestess.
Her soul seemed to be squeezed somewhere in this body. She was conscious but unable to control her actions. Her lips parted slightly, and a string of ancient and obscure spells flowed from the depths of her throat.
But she couldn't understand, or rather, it was not her who was speaking, but the original owner of this body who was reciting the sacrificial words.
Soon, when the total solar eclipse came, the sky and the earth changed color.
The crowd was in an uproar, but Lin Bai, or rather, the original owner of this body, was breathless at this moment.
She felt it.
Something is awakening.
The river surged, and a pale hand slowly emerged from the water, its nails sharp, like a dead person trying to break free from the shackles of the tomb.
Lin Bai's body trembled, and she knelt on the ground, her hands pressed to her chest, as if trying to suppress some sudden impulse. The memories of this body assaulted her consciousness, and shattered scenes flashed before her eyes.
On the banks of the Nile, a veiled woman stood in front of the altar, her hands raised high, whispering obscure spells.
Blood slowly flowed down the stone steps of the platform, and the sacrifice was pushed into the water.
"When the black sun descends, the departed gods on the altar will return."
Lin Bai suddenly broke free from the priest's memory. Her hands suddenly tightened, and her nails dug deep into her palms.
She could not be thrown into the river, not only because it meant death, but also because she had understood the true purpose of the sacrifice.
The true god of the Nile is about to be resurrected, but the evil god who has usurped the throne wants to ruin the sacrifice.
She had to stop this.
Below the dais, a servant held a golden basin filled with river water and walked towards her. Behind her, two guards stepped forward, and the Pharaoh whispered, "The Son of the Sun has fallen into dust. Only by sinking into the holy river can his soul be purified and reborn."
They reached out and grabbed her wrist.
Lin Bai took a deep breath and raised his eyelashes slightly.
"Who said the Son of the Sun needs to be reborn?"
The next moment, she suddenly took a half step back and put the dagger to her throat.
She saw that everyone was frozen, the guards' hands were hanging in the air, and the prayers stopped abruptly.
She exerted a little force on the hand holding the dagger, and the blade broke through the skin, oozing out a trickle of scarlet blood.
"False Mother Nile, if you truly desire a sacrifice, then please come and take my name yourself."
Her voice was calm, with unquestionable authority, and she silently chanted a spell in her heart.
"O high and mighty Montura, the blazing flame of the sun god Ra, god of war on the Nile, please grant us strength and allow us to descend into the world."
She stood on the platform, a dagger at her throat, her white robe blown by the wind like spread wings.
Behind her, a tall shadow emerged. It was Montura, the hot flame of the sun god Ra. Under the radiant light, the total solar eclipse seemed vulnerable. The world became bright again. Lin Bai tasted rust in her throat, but she held back and swallowed it.
"Mother Nile," she whispered softly, a smile on her lips. "Your response was too slow, so I had to solve it myself."
Everyone held their breath, as if suppressed by an invisible force. Only Lin Bai still stood on the platform, his back straight, watching coldly as a black shadow gradually solidified in the distance.
Lin Bai narrowed his eyes, then loosened the dagger and drew it across the red rope on his wrist, causing it to fall off.
"Since this ritual has deteriorated..." she whispered, "let's end it."
She waved her arm, and Montura burst into a dazzling light, and a spear of light condensed.
Montula flipped his wrist, spinning the spear of light continuously and flew towards the shadow.
"In the name of the Son of the Sun, I command you to be destroyed."
The moment the spear of light touched the black shadow, the light was swallowed up and the black shadow made a crackling sound.
He knelt straight on the ground without any struggle.
Lin Bai stood in the center of the light, his eyes slightly lowered, and said softly:
"Go back to where you belong."
The black shadow obediently disintegrated in the light, turning into countless floating dust particles and being carried away into the distance by the wind.
The darkness of the total solar eclipse slowly faded, and golden sunlight once again fell on the earth.
Lin Bai raised his head, looked at the sun that was shining again, and basked in the sunshine.
She won.
Congratulations to challenger Lin Bai for completing the fourth level, Call of the Nile.
The believers prostrated themselves on the ground, not daring to look up, while Pharaoh's hands trembled slightly, and the scepter that symbolized divine power and royal authority trembled as he held it tightly.
The platform in front of him disappeared, and Lin Bai returned to the Nile River.
A virtual light screen appeared before her eyes.
[Congratulations to challenger Lin Bai for clearing this arena.]
The next second, the familiar feeling of weightlessness came over me.
Lin Bai's eyes suddenly opened, and in front of him was the waiting hall.
A robot ran up to Lin Bai and said, "Hello, designer Gu Ping wants to talk to you."
Lin Bai knew Gu Ping, a powerful stadium designer, and almost all the current virtual stadiums were designed by her.
Following the robot into a strange-shaped building, Lin Bai looked at the huge hall in shock. There were monitors and debuggers everywhere.
She followed the robot in shock all the way to the center of the hall, where a formally dressed mechanical man was processing documents.
Seeing Lin Bai coming, she stopped what she was doing and handed her a document.
"Hello, Lin Bai, I'm Gu Ping. I called you here to take a look at this design document."
Lin Bai took the document, and on the cover was written "Nile River Arena"
When she opened the catalog, she realized something was wrong. There were five levels in total, but she had only completed four levels and passed them.
"You're probably confused too. There are five levels here. I don't actually need you to fight. Each level is designed to be simple. There's no need to complicate it."
"But you unexpectedly solved the level. I'm very curious why you're so belligerent."
After saying this, Gu Ping stared into Lin Bai's eyes, waiting for her reply.
Lin Bai didn't know what to say. Call her a warmonger? No way. Call her brainless? That wouldn't be nice to say about himself.
She considered her words carefully: "Besides me, is there anyone else who is unexpected?"
Gu Ping tapped the table with his fingertips, thought for a moment, and said, "Yes, your grandmother. She passed the level miraculously. You can see for yourself how it went."
Lin Bai received an email from Gu Ping.
When I opened it, it was the grandma's clearance video. She was indeed different. She directly resurrected the priest and had very powerful healing powers.
Gu Ping looked at her, as if asking if she had anything to say.
Lin Bai pondered for a moment and said, "Although the competition venue is virtual, when the black shadow appeared, I felt that it was a real malicious force. I would really die."
Gu Ping suddenly received some news. He looked at Lin Bai and hesitated to speak, but finally said, "Bad news, your grandma is missing."
Lin Bai's expression changed slightly and he clenched the document in his hand.
"When did it happen?" Her voice was low and a little tense.
Gu Ping sighed lightly and projected a surveillance video. The grandmother in the video was walking into an area filled with black fog and then disappeared completely.
"From this image, it seems she disappeared today within the Myth Tournament area. We tried tracking her signal, but to no avail."
Lin Bai was silent for a moment, then raised his eyes firmly, "Mythical Arena, I'm going to find her."
Gu Ping stared at her, as if trying to see through her heart, and then slowly said: "You know very well that it is a black area, not under the jurisdiction of the Federation, and it is very dangerous."
Lin Bai's lips curled slightly, his eyes cold: "Then let me try and see how dangerous it is."
Before she left the control center, she turned back and said to Gu Ping, "If I don't come back for a long time, please help me withdraw from school. Thank you."
Gu Ping nodded silently, thinking of the powerful rabbit tribe in his mind, and sneered: "I didn't expect the child you picked up would look so much like you."
——
While the challenge was still being hotly discussed on the Starnet, a figure wearing a black fur-edged cloak had already boarded the starship heading to the edge star at the star port.
Lin Bai sat in the starship with a blank look. All she could see was the vast sea of stars, but it only brought her pain.
Every time I catch a glimpse of the sea of stars, I recall my grandma’s warm smile from last time.
The Myth Arena, a nearly nonexistent forbidden zone on the Federation map, rules only survival of the fittest. It's no mere arena, but a gray area rife with black market transactions, gambling-like battles between gods, and countless dangers. It's a place ordinary people avoid, yet Grandma went there.
She took a deep breath, and the starship's light screen showed the journey.
[Target coordinates: Edge Star]
Lin Bai slowly closed her eyes, adjusting herself. She was about to encounter unknown dangers. The home planet mentioned in her files actually held so many secrets.
When the starship landed at its destination, Lin Bai got off the starship and saw a familiar city cluster.
It was no different here than when she left.
Following the mythical arena area he searched on Starnet, Lin Bai walked to an alley.
Looking at the narrow and dilapidated alley in front of her, Lin Bai remembered that this was the place she accidentally entered on the night she received the admission letter.
She put on the mask and walked into the alley. The moss-covered brick walls smelled damp, and she could vaguely see the scratches left by the bear man.
As we walked deeper, we heard another dull sound of footsteps approaching.
A huge bear man stood in front of her.
"It's you? Aren't you humans not allowed to come?"
The bear man saw the pattern on her cloak, the Yu family, but still spoke in a bad tone.
Lin Bai looked up at the bear man, revealing her mask: "What are you talking about? I want to go in, don't block the way."
The bear man was surprised and stepped aside to let Lin Bai in.
Lin Bai walked straight into the depths of the alley.
Unlike the old and damp alley, there was an exquisitely carved stone door in front of Lin Bai, which she gently pushed open.
A huge force sucked her in.
When Lin Bai woke up, he saw a bustling market and an island floating in the sky in the distance.
Four chains pulled the sky island upwards from all directions, and things kept falling from it.
That is the mythical arena. It is said that all disasters originate from here. I don’t know why he can stay here so calmly.
She planned to inquire about the information in the black market first.
Seeing someone selling information, she casually asked, "Do you know Yu Sihe?"
"Where are the points? Buy and sell first, then get the goods." A rough voice screamed, staring at Lin Bai vigilantly, as if afraid that she would run away with the bill.
"integral?"
"Newcomer, go to the island above and have a fight first." The merchant looked at Lin Bai with contempt.
Lin Bai looked up at the isolated island in the sky.
"That's where you can get points. Go get the little chicken." The man continued to urge with an attitude of watching a show.
A big rooster nearby angrily fanned the vendor with a feather, and the vendor quickly shut up.
Is it inevitable? Lin Bai decided to go and see what was going on.
