Challenge Nile River Arena (VI)
The interior of this temple was different from the ones Lin Bai had visited before. She guessed that it was probably just an imitation of the Abu Simbel Temple on the outside, and the inside was another space.
The space inside was not large, and Lin Bai was soon not far from the red area on the map.
The surrounding walls gradually became smooth, emitting a faint, cold glow, as if made of some kind of crystal. Her shadow was reflected on the wall, and every movement was magnified infinitely.
In front, a box was quietly placed in the middle of the ground.
Lin Bai stepped forward, put his hand on the lid of the box, and gently lifted it up. Suddenly, a low and trembling roar came from inside the box.
She instantly stepped back and took a stance.
[Congratulations to the challenger for triggering the third level: Monster Cage]
Monster spawner?
It’s not a good thing, Lin Bai thought.
She frowned slightly, having a bad feeling in her heart.
I saw a giant python swimming out of the box, its scales shining with a sticky luster, its body as thick as an adult's waist and abdomen, and its length was boundless and immeasurable in the shadows.
The dagger slipped from Lin Bai's hand. She wanted to summon the Monkey King, but the empty mental power in her body made her give up the idea temporarily.
Fighting alone is the best opportunity to train yourself.
Lin Bai was unwilling to continue using the broken dagger, so he took out a big knife from his backpack, held it with both hands, and was ready to attack.
The sight of the python's yellow-green vertical pupils frightened her, and the snake's tongue that kept coming out was terrifying, as if it would suddenly pounce and kill her in the next second.
Lin Bai shouted loudly, gripping the sword tightly with both hands, and stomped his feet, rushing towards the giant python. The sword cut through the air, pointing directly at the snake's head.
The python was more agile than she had imagined. It suddenly leaned back, its scales scraping against the ground with a harsh rustling sound. Lin Bai's sword missed, the blade slicing the ground, sending sparks flying.
When her attack missed, she immediately changed her moves, turning her wrist and slashing back, the knife swept across, hitting the giant python's vital point.
The giant python's tail suddenly swept towards Lin Bai, and the wind whistled like an iron whip. Lin Bai dodged sideways, and the blade turned and slashed at the snake's tail.
Unexpectedly, the scales on the snake's tail were so hard that when the blade chopped it down, it caused a sound of metal clashing, which made Lin Baihu's mouth numb. Fortunately, it did not break.
The giant python immediately opened its mouth, its fangs sharp, a fishy smell blowing in her face, and bit her.
Lin Bai kicked his feet and jumped up, tapping the wall with his feet. Using the force, he turned over and chopped the blade from top to bottom, directly hitting the top of the giant python's head.
The giant python suddenly twisted its body, avoiding the vital parts, coiled up, suddenly shot out, and rushed forward with the momentum to die together with Lin Bai.
Lin Bai had no way to avoid it, and the blade blocked in front of him.
With a loud bang, the giant python's head hit the blade. Lin Bai's arm was numb from the shock, and the whole person was knocked backwards and hit the wall heavily.
She groaned, a trace of blood oozing from the corner of her mouth. She quickly adjusted her state and turned over. Before her feet were stable, she rushed forward again, swinging her sword and slashing continuously.
The giant python was forced to retreat, its tail swiping towards him. Lin Bai ducked low, gliding close to the ground, his blade slicing along the snake's belly, splashing a trail of blood.
The giant python roared in pain and rolled violently. Lin Bai jumped up and pierced the snake's neck with the blade.
The blade penetrated into the scales, blood gushed out, and the giant python twisted its body wildly, but was unable to break free.
Lin Bai used both hands to push the blade down, thrusting the sword deeper into the air.
After a moment, the giant python's huge body finally fell down slowly, twitched a few times, and became completely motionless.
Lin Bai stood there, took a breath for a moment, slowly put away his knife, and stared at the giant python's corpse, fearing that the thing still had the strength to counterattack.
After a moment of silence, a long roar came from the monster spawning cage. Lin Bai realized that something was wrong. This monster spawning cage was really a real monster spawning cage, and its mechanism must be destroyed.
But the giant scorpion had already jumped out and Lin Bai had no choice but to fight it first.
Lin Bai frowned, gripped the sword tightly with both hands, and his eyes swept towards the giant scorpion that leaped out like lightning.
The giant scorpion was pitch black, and it landed without a sound. Its huge claws were half open and half closed, and the poisonous stinger on its tail was raised high, as if it would strike at any moment.
Lin Bai felt that this giant scorpion was far more formidable than the giant python. While the giant python was ferocious, it was ultimately a brute force attack, whereas this creature before him was clearly sinister and cunning, its shell incomparably hard.
Without waiting for the other party to move, she pushed off slightly with her feet, and quickly flashed towards the gap between its shells.
The giant scorpion dodged in time, and the blade caused a violent vibration when it hit the scorpion's armor. Lin Bai's arm trembled slightly, and his knuckles felt numb.
The giant scorpion suddenly swung its tail, and the poisonous needle pierced Lin Bai's chest like a crossbow arrow.
Lin Bai's heart trembled, and she stepped back, leaning back suddenly, barely avoiding the attack. The poison needle just passed over the tip of her nose, but fortunately it did not scratch it.
She had just stood firm when the giant scorpion approached and swung its claws down, attacking her to death.
Lin Bai dodged sideways, swung the sword in his hand, and slashed the blade towards the giant scorpion's joints.
The knife accurately cut into the weak point of the scorpion's claw, cutting off half of the claw.
The giant scorpion screamed in pain, its remaining claws flailing wildly. Lin Bai acted decisively, using his left leg as a fulcrum. With a sweep of his right leg, he spun violently, his sword spinning to block the incoming poisonous needles. Then, using the momentum of his spin, he abruptly shifted the blade's momentum, slashing upwards from below, fiercely striking the giant scorpion's abdomen.
The blade pierced into the soft abdomen, blood splattered everywhere, the giant scorpion's body trembled violently, and its stinger twitched violently, as if it wanted to make a last stand.
Lin Bai was not willing to give it a chance. He exerted force with both hands and swung the big knife violently, cutting open the belly with one stroke until the tip of the blade touched the hard shell on the back.
The giant scorpion screamed, its remaining claws danced wildly, and finally it fell to the ground with a bang, completely dead.
Lin Bai sheathed his sword and stood, breathing lightly. He looked towards the monster spawner. If the spawner wasn't destroyed, the Dark Beast would spawn endlessly.
She suppressed the heaving of her chest, held her breath, and approached the monster cage, hoping to find a way to crack the monster while she had some free time.
Fortunately, the monster has not appeared yet, so Lin Bai can observe the mechanism completely.
Lin Bai looked carefully and saw that the monster cage was covered with metal patterns on all four sides, and there was a ruby embedded in each corner, which was shining slightly.
She reached out and touched one of the gems. As soon as her fingertips touched it, she felt a surge of energy. Frowning slightly, she tried to direct her mental energy into the gem's interior. Sure enough, she discovered it was connected to the spawner's overall structure. The four gems worked together to keep the cage running.
"Destroying one of them should render the entire device inoperable." She thought to herself, raising her knife and about to chop it down.
A deep roar suddenly emanated from the monster spawning cage. The next moment, a dark figure stepped out of the cage and slowly appeared in her sight.
It was a pitch-black dog, standing there quietly with a strange green light in its eyes.
Lin Bai stared at it vigilantly, feeling that this black dog was unusual and might be even more troublesome than the giant python and giant scorpion before.
Sure enough, the black dog only paused for a moment, then suddenly crouched down. The next second, it turned into a black shadow and disappeared in an instant. Then Lin Bai felt a pain in his right shoulder, and when he turned his head, he saw that he had been bitten.
Lin Bai quickly swung his knife towards the black dog's head, and the black dog quickly bounced away and jumped into the air.
Lin Bai chased after her relentlessly, swinging her sword. When she was about to chop her waist, the black dog suddenly twisted its body in mid-air, avoiding the blade at an incredible angle, and then stretched out a claw, attacking her injured right shoulder.
Lin Bai dodged quickly, sweat breaking out on his forehead.
"This thing is faster than those monsters before."
After the black dog landed on the ground, it crouched down, staring at Lin Bai with its eyes. The man and the dog fell into silence.
After a moment, the black dog let out a low growl from its throat, kicked the ground with all four claws, and pounced again.
Lin Bai seized the opportunity and swung his knife at the black dog's waist.
This time, the knife finally hit the waist. The black dog let out a howl and then collapsed to the ground.
The saying "copper head, iron legs and thin waist" really makes sense.
Lin Bai thankfully ended the fight with a swing of his sword. He immediately walked over to the monster spawner and chopped off one of the rubies with his sword.
In an instant, all the gems on the monster cage dimmed.
The system's voice finally sounded.
[Congratulations to challenger Lin Bai for passing the third level.]

Starnet.
[Unemployed fan leader: If someone had told me a month ago that a freshman could single-handedly defeat three Dark Beasts, and a Human at that, I would have never believed it. Now I just want to say, Sister Lin is awesome!]
[Carrot Eats Pig: I can only say it's due to a lack of divine power. It's only been a few days and it's already blowing up. The previous black screen might have been due to some shady plot.]
[Li Zhong Ke: Stop arguing. Am I the only one who noticed that Lin Bai fell far behind this time?]

After the adrenaline faded, the pain from her right shoulder made Lin Bai suffer. Thinking that she was on a live broadcast, she tried to suppress her expression that was about to change.
He quickly pulled out the first aid kit, gave himself a rabies shot, a hemostatic injection, bandaged the wound, and drank the treatment. Lin Bai moved his right shoulder and could feel the slight itching of the wound healing.
She changed her backpack to a single shoulder strap and continued to go deeper into the temple.
